After that she helped me find another pair that was similar and would accommodate my work uniform needs, then gave me a ten dollar discount for my troubles. So kind! I swore I'd never go in one of these stores but when you have kids things change. I did my Google…read moreresearch on all the bells and whistles, and watched YouTube BAB experiences to know what to expect. I signed up ahead online for the pay-your-age birthday offer. Then I prepped my kid for what we could and could not get before going in, so there would not be temptation for all the candy store-type extras they have to octuple base bear prices. I made sure we had plans for all the extras, out of existing stuff at home. If you add a voice box or scent you can't throw this thing in the washing machine. That's a no-go in my house, and we'd be allergic to the scent anyway, so my kid understood that part. If you need clothes, per Google, these bears fit preemie size clothes and Cabbage Patch clothes, and XS dog outfits, and a ton of other stuff you can use if you think outside the box. (We had a dinosaur dog costume waiting in the car for the bear and it fit perfectly!) For the bear-sized cars they sell? We had a ton of trucks in every scale at home and this bear got a tractor, dump truck, fire engine, and several other vehicles. The special armchairs? He fits kid chairs just fine. The minis that are supposed to be a stuffie for your stuffie? We've got (I'm underselling if anything) at least 400 stuffies and many are that mini size, enough for this bear to have an instant giant collection. For under $10, we got the base birthday bear, the fun experience of stuffing him, putting his fabric heart inside that you start pumping in your hands while making a wish, and then watched him get sewn up the back. Got to scrub him in the play tub, make a birth certificate, and got a party hat and take-home box. There was a sale happening and a huge line when we were there. I'm probably showing my generational age but I was surprised at how many older teens and adults frequent this store, and at least two separate 20-something men and a 30-something woman all by themselves getting bears, and all were more into the process of hugging the heart and making a wish than my elementary schooler. This store truly appeals to everyone. Staff were all professional but taxed from a long busy day. This visit (first experience) was a little rushed due to the line, and they skipped some of the bear-incarnation lore which we'd seen on YouTube experiences, but my son wasn't as into that so it was fine. The store is a bit dated, but the whole mall is suuuuper old and shabby. It's not a place I go if I can help it. Got in and out quickly enough and my kid is happy with the bear.
