The employees were attentive & very professional, and the experience was great! They explained everything to me, offered a few additional services based on the inspection (which I really appreciated!), but I did not feel as though they were pressuring me. Oil change went great and the vehicle inspection was seamless, without any challenges. The reviews I read prior to going were mixed and I was a bit unsure about whether I should go but, after this experience, I will never go anywhere else! If the two gentlemen who serviced my vehicle are representative of the quality of service this location always provides, you are in for an awesome experience!

WATCH THE WORK ON YOUR VEHICLE!! Quick in and out means nothing without QUALITY WORKMANSHIP…read more Revised with correct dates of activities... I recently had my son's oil changed on his vehicle at the Valvoline Instant Oil Change location at this 8125 Matlock location, more specifically on Tuesday Aug. 25, 2026. My son's vehicle is a 2018 Nissan Sentra that requires 4.2 gal of oil. On that day at the shop, I waited on bench chair and not watching the techs, but all appeared well...in about 10 minutes the work was completed, and I was shown the vehicle's dip stick by the technician to confirm the oil level. I paid $90 (a little pricing for 4 qts IMO) and went on about my day. A day later I noticed some oil drops on the pavement area where my son park's his vehicle, so the next day, Thursday Aug. 27 I went underneath his vehicle to see where the drops were coming from, but found the recently purported changed filter, looked old, dented and the label already peeling off...see attached pics. The next day I tried calling the actual location I went to but was connected to Valvoline Oil Change customer service, so i told them I didn't think the filter had been changed, or the filter was not new, so Valvoline customer service opened a case on my behalf and informed me to ask for the manager Keith at the Matlock location. I finally went back to the shop on Sat. Aug 28th, however, Kieth the manager was not there, so the assistant manager named Kyrin assistanted me. A first he stated that he would redo the oil change and instructed me to move the car to the line and bay number. I could then see Kyrin chatting with someone else and he comes back to my car saying "this was your first time here at Valvoline and the filter is a Valvoline filter so the filter had to have been changed". I got his point, but when I first arrived I told him either it was not changed or it was not a new filter installed during the oil change. Plus, the prior oil change was performed last year, and I had order the filter online. Note: Please look at the attached pics and those that know will see why I say this is not a new filter. The filter on my son's vehicle is dented (zoom in to see the dent) the the sticker on filter is already peeling. A new filter will not look this way 3 days after a oil change and less than 50 miles on dry pavement in this DFW drought. I also informed him that the day my oild was changed it was clearer...a light amber color now it's darker already after 3 days (the day the image was taken), then he stated the MaxLife oil is dark to began with, so i asked him to show me. I aske to see, so Kyrin dispensed a small amount of the MaxLife oil on steel wrench and when he did so it was much clearer/light amber...not lightly dark. So then he stated that "overtime the oil gets darker due to varnish". I told him its my son's car and he's in school which is approx 5 miles from home, and his part-time job that he worked one day after the oil change is near the school. His average weekly miles is approx 45-60 miles a week. Note: see the attached as it typically takes a few hundred miles to see varnish in the new oil. Unfortunately, my attempt to get my situation resolved today, but i will update this post accordingly (positively or negatively)depending on what happens going forward. If the oil is changed but the oil filter is not, or is replaced with a used filter to save the location $$$, the new oil will become contaminated IMMEDIATELY. Sadly...Kyrin didn't even offer to fix the leak. My closing advice to All...Although they want you too, do not sit in your car while they are working on it. They say sitting in your vehicle allows you to see what they're doing, but you're only seeing half the action. The most important action is occurring underneath the car....draining the old oil, removing the old filter and replacing with a new filter. You can't see that from your car seat, so I'd highly recommend you stand in front so you can see both what's going on above and more importantly below your vehicle.

I came in on a Saturday, and they were not to busy, and I was out in about 30 minutes are so. I really appreciate the gentleman, that helped, as he showed me the air filter, and said, "it still looks good". So how many times have you ever taken your car for an oil change, and they always tell you, "You should replace it". Well, every time I take my car to Jiffy Lube, they are honest. Because of COVID, this location makes you stay in your vehicle, and I am fine with that, and for someone in the healthcare industry, I really appreciate it. Thank you again.

I'll start by saying the girl that I interacted with was kind, and seemed helpful…read more... But all three people that were working when I was there all needed more training, it was clear non of them knew what they were doing. I took by car for a oil change/inspection, after awhile she came in and expressed that they were having trouble getting the filter cap off, she said they had 3 people trying..... they ended up telling me that I had to go back to the people that screwed it on too tight and have them take it off.... Basically they already emptied my oil and now could not fix it. They said they filled it with 3quarts so I could make it straight to a mechanic. They also took an extremely long time with the inspection after telling me they could not do the oil change, way longer than any inspection I've ever had. I went to a amazing mechanic that I have gone too before and he got the cap off immediately!! Jiffy lube broke the cap trying to take it off so I had to replace that too. Bottom line, they're not training people like they should. I will never return and would never recommend anyone else to go here!
