Didn't cost me an arm and a leg. I like how they're pretty straight to the point to diagnose and repair the issue. The first time I came by was for tire replacement. Turns out I had a bulge in the tire causing my bad steering. Got it done within 30 minutes and I was on my way home. 2nd time I came by was because of loose steering. Informed me that the bushings in the rack and pinion needs replacing. I was told that if I brought the car in the morning they can have it done the same day. Took the car Saturday morning. Gladly I didn't live that far so I can just walk to the shop. I waited for a call to pick up my car but did not get one that Saturday. I tried to call but no answer. Monday came along and they said the car will be done by end of day. I was slightly disappointed in the Saturday experience hoping that they'll get the repair done Monday. Called them in the afternoon and was told it's ready for pickup. Took the car home and steering feels great. The repair was great, no issues so far. Only thing is that the splash guard in the bottom were missing screws. Guess they forgot to screw them back in. I'm a simple person so I'm glad the issue was fixed and didn't cost me an arm and a leg, well cost a few screws, but to me that's not so bad as I can get them for cheap. Thanks for the repair.

The reviews for this place are excellent and so I decided to take my Tacoma to them to get some…read morework done. The truck is fairly old so, among several other things, they quoted new shocks and strut assemblies. After getting the truck back and driving a few days back and forth to work I noticed that it always had a pronounced lean where the passenger side of the vehicle was riding several inches higher than the driver's side. After calling to confirm, Phil stated that they had done an alignment and had even verified the ride height/level. The truck was definitely leaning though so something was not right, I took it to the Toyota dealership and they showed me the issue. Fort Worth Auto Garage had installed the wrong shock and strut assemblies on one side of the vehicle. I don't believe Fort Worth Auto Garage actually did an alignment or a ride height check, because it surely would have been noticed that the incorrect parts had been installed on one side of the truck. That being said, once I confronted Phil with this information he did agree to install the correct parts so eventually it was fixed. Fort Worth Auto Garage do have reasonable prices, however they seem to be a bit sloppy with their work and they do not seem to pay close attention to details, such as part numbers.

I have no doubt that they can do a good job, as seen with these other positive reviews, but in the same manner that they are professionals in this field, I am surprised they did not find anything wrong with the master cylinder, which does have a direct influence on the clutch. Dave mentioned multiple times that his men did not find an issue with the cylinder at the time of inspection, so "technically" they did their jobs. I should point out, that Dave also said that they test driven it by 10 miles. 10 miles and no issues apparently, yet 2 miles of our struggle before the car gave out. I attached 2 new photos showing the odometer. Unless the paper printed on the day I picked up the keys aren't up to date (and if so, why was I given paperwork that's not up to date?) I am hesitant to believe the car was test driven. As my boyfriend was flying back from a work trip, we couldn't get his car till 10 PM, long after Ichiban closed. At 10 PM, we retrieved the car, excited to drive it when... HIS CLUTCH IS LOOSE! Both of us tried it and it feels wrong. NO resistance on the clutch pedal, and he couldn't put the shifter into gear! How is this acceptable! He managed to drive the car off premises but as he got closer to my apartment, literally 2 miles away, he had stopped because he couldn't change gears anymore. That's right, 2 MILES by 11 PM, my boyfriend and his car remain stuck on the side of the road, parallel parked at some street and praying that he doesn't get towed. I did not pay over $2k just to retrieve a car that's not operating properly. Did anyone even test drive it? You guys had the car from Wednesday till Friday. Called me at 9:30 AM stating it's ready, and I didn't even come till 2 PM to pick it up, giving you guys plenty of time to test drive/check for any errors/tighten any loose ends. Since Ichiban is closed, our night, our weekend, is ruined. I really wished I could've given this place 5 stars, the men were nice but the service we received is unacceptable. A simple clutch check/test drive would've signaled to you guys that something is off. Ichiban Autos, we are extremely disappointed.

My brake light was coming on occasionally and so I figured I needed to have my fluid checked. I went to NTB on I-30 by Ridgmar Mall (6550 West Freeway) on 2/4/2010 and said I needed brake fluid. I was told my fluid was very low, which they added, and I was then asked permission to check my brakes. Well, they came back and said I had a front brake problem. The estimate was $473.78 to basically get a new pad and 2 rotors. I told them no thanks and then starting calling around, using my detailed NTB estimate to compare prices. I had also done some research on brakes, so I wouldn't sound so stupid and get fleeced. I called another place and they quoted me ten bucks higher! I then called Car Care Center and talked to Bill. He spent quite a bit of time with me on the phone, asking a few questions, and educating me on brakes. I told him what NTB was quoting and he was surprised. Bill then gave me a figure to do the same job that was less than 1/2 the NTB quote. I told him I'd be there the next day, which is today. He explained they didn't take appointments -- it was first come first serve, but that he would work with me because I had to pick my husband up from rehab at a certain time. They don't really have a waiting area, as his customers usually just drop their cars off, but he said he would put the space heater on in their little office and warm the place up before I got there. I was in their warm office for a short time when Bill came in and asked me again about my brakes. He then said I needed to come out to my car so Larry, the other owner, could show me what he had found. Larry and Bill then explained to me what the brakes would look like if I needed new ones. Bill even showed me an example of a pad that needed to be replaced. Larry then pointed out a variety of things on my brakes. The bottom line is --- THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY BRAKES!!! I had just needed brake fluid, which is what I had suspected the entire time. Bill was only going to charge me $20, but I happily wrote a check for $50. I am so impressed that I had to post this right away! These guys rock!

Even though we no longer are required to get our vehicles fully inspected in Texas, we do still…read moreneed to get an emissions inspection in certain high population counties of the state. I'm very happy to report that Greased Lightening can do that emissions inspection, and fix you up with an oil change as well, as we did with our sweet little Mustang automobile recently. The guys are always pleasant and helpful. They have a waiting room with a television set that plays shows that remind me of home. They have a pop machine if you're thirsty, and the prices for those sodas are quite reasonable. Also, I always appreciate the mechanic shops whose waiting rooms have a coffee table full of a variety of magazines, as they do at Greased Lightening. We appreciate these guys a great deal.
