Went to AMC Tysons Corner 16 for a screening of Hoppers -- the movie was so cute! The seating was great, with digital touchscreen controls for your recliner. The chairs were wide, super comfortable, and the aisles were spacious, so it never felt cramped when someone walked by. The bathrooms, on the other hand, weren't as clean as you'd expect for 10am. There was no toilet paper in the stall I used -- glad I carry wipes! Overall, it was a good experience. I just wish the restrooms had been better maintained. read more

this location is great, after a day full of shopping what could be better than settling in for a movie, one of the bathrooms were out of service which wasn't great and the seats sans the imax were not leather/ plush recliners which at this point for amc for the price of a movie ticket is kind of disappointing also I'm pretty sure I saw my cashier lick a finger while handling my popcorn which is never something you want to see, the theatre/ screening room itself was clean and the movie played nicely not too loud and the picture quality was good as well! I went for several free early access screenings of new movies, and it was a great experience! Some theaters there have upgraded adjustable seats which are so comfortable! I like that it is next to the TGIFRIDAYS in the mall so that you can get food before or after movies. There are kiosks to purchase tickets. The sound is amazing! TIP: You can take the second garage entrance past the first traffic light near the Nordstroms and it is before the second traffic light on the left. This entrance has a shortcut ramp that takes you all the way to the top of the garage directly to the movie theater entrance. read more

I was shocked that a theatre still had seats that didn't recline! I didn't know that was still a thing unless it was an antique style theatre. The theatre was packed, and my friends had to wait longer for their food than usual. They like the variety of food options although i found it to be a bit expensive. Until AMC Tysons changes its boneheaded policy on water bottles, this theater gets one star from me. See photo: managers insist that patrons' visible water bottles are left unguarded outside the theater. Leaving those personal water bottles unguarded is a great way to assist a malicious person to steal a container or even roofie another person. Managers at AMC Tysons have made this policy decision; the policy is different at other AMC theaters. I've talked with managers and complained online, but nothing has changed. Apparently, keeping down the risks of a few folks stealing soda is worth the negative risks of stolen containers or adulterated drinks. You can tell that this AMC doesn't care a bit about protecting personal property--or patrons' personal safety. read more

I visited here last night to catch a flick. I was pleased to see that they had reclining seats. The only problem was the aisles were not very wide so even barely reclining them required you to move your legs/feet each and every time someone needed to enter or exit the aisles. Most others I have visited offered more leg room so this wasn't such a frequent occurrence. It kind of feels like the airlines, the rows get smaller and tighter as they try to squeeze in as many people as possible. Oh well, I still enjoyed my experience overall. The concession stand staff were pleasant, the place was pretty clean, and the popcorn and coke slushee, while nothing to write home about, met my basic need for food and liquids. What more can I ask for? I know, legroom, but why revisit the pain point... read more

This amc is in a great location. Convenient/clean and have a variety of options to choose from depending on the experience you want. The snacks are expensive which is why they lose a star but really that seems to be the norm for theaters everywhere. Their workers are polite and fast so you're not standing around long. I have been coming to this location for a long time. I love that this location has majority of the free advanced movie screenings. On a recent visit viewing the movie Death of a Unicorn, the popcorn ordered was supposed to not have salt on it. When we received it, it had salt on it. Anthony who assisted me and immediately made a new batch of unsalted popcorn. I really appreciated how friendly he was and went above and beyond to assist me. Thank you Anthony!!! I want to make sure Anthony is recognized. I recommend getting their stub premiere membership too. You get a free large popcorn and drink for your birthday month! The service fees are waived. You can earn $5 off rewards & stand in the premier line at the concession stand. This is a nice movie theater located on the top/3rd level of the mall. My husband and I were really confused on how to access it from the parking garage. We found ourselves going in from the bottom level of the mall and finding escalators to reach the top. After the movie, we realized there's a pedestrian bridge directly to the parking garage from the movie theater! Oops! The theater is large and spacious and had lots of workers collecting tickets and running the concession stand. They had many food options to choose from and had the Coke freestyle machines which are always a fan favorite. We were invited to a private screening of a movie so the theater was chosen for us. I'm unsure if this theater offers the luxury loungers like other theaters do. We had regular seats for our movie. The theater overall was clean and could hold a lot of people. Okay so I have to say that this is one of the craziest things I've ever seen. I WISH I had my phone so I could've taken a photo... There are mice!!! I went to the bathroom in the middle of seeing the Materialists and I saw a mouse run across the floor of the lady's bathroom. It was so tiny. I was shook! It's disgusting! Sure it is kind of cute, but a mouse? That is gross. More concerning that it is in the Tyson's Corner mall............ I would highly recommend you don't go to the bathroom here. Or maybe go to a different location. When I told the staff, both sighed as if this is a common occurrence?! I think they told management? But one of them just went, "Ugh... not again." I attended a Yelp screening of a movie and was left to sit in the front row of the theater which I had never done before given the open seating arrangement. Needless to say, my neck eventually started to ache and I found myself not being able to watch the movie as a result. The seats didn't recline so there was no other choice but to look up. It's a nice theater otherwise with a lot of overpriced food and drink products for purchase. My husband and I came to AMC Tyson's for an early release of The Accountant 2. There was a line of people waiting to get in when we arrived and the theatre made it easy for you to get in and see the movie. We were able to order food and drinks from the bar/concession. This theater was nice and clean. I came for here for a movie screening and the staff at the concession stand was so friendly and patient. It was pretty quiet but it was also a Tuesday night, not sure if that made a difference but,I like that this theater has the kitchen opened and you can see the employees preparing everything. The pizza was hot but it's not very tasty. It sort of reminded me if 711 pizza--and I think they need a new distributor because we all know the movies are to expensive to be selling BS.If you're going to sell cardboard, at least put some season that ish. But on a positive note, if you really like to relax they have a bar inside of the theater for you. I haven't been to a movie theater since before Covid. This was a wonderful experience for my first returning. read more

I really enjoyed the advanced movie screening of The Idea of You with Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galatzine. It was a cute rom com about a single mom who is forty, who is falling for a young boy band member(Hayes). It was a fresh, funny, story that had great supporting characters, like Ella Rubin, who plays Izzy, Salene's teenage daughter. The music was really good. The movie gave insight to life in a boy band, as well as a single parent trying to raise their children, while navigating a life of their own. I found it entertaining and enjoyable. It is out on Amazon-Prime and I recommend watching it. Thanks Kimi and Yelp for this great experience. read more

Sure AMC Tysons is convenient to go to in Tysons Corner Center and they have larger individual theatres then other movie theaters but the place needs a remodel for one. The place has just gotten a ton of wear and tear on it. The kicker is that the place is a disaster zone. Concession area for drinks, butter, napkins is a total mess. Garbage everywhere and when we come out of our movie 3 hours later it's still a mess. Where are the cleaning folks?? Aren't there standards for cleanliness that needs to be met?? Can't come back here anymore with all the other options in the area. read more

The reclining seats are comfortable, and the screens and sound quality are solid, but the theater could use some better upkeep--cleanliness isn't always up to par. The concessions are pricey (which is expected), but the long lines make it worse. Also, some of the staff seemed overwhelmed, which slowed things down. I really expected the AMC at Tysons Corner to be much more clean and organized than it was. Understandably cinemas get busy on weekends, but this should not be an excuse for it to not be clean. The carpets and general decor in the cinema seemed very vintage/old. Hopefully there are plans for renovations or a deep clean soon. The movie theatre I was in did not have reclining seat. Which I think should be standard, especially as the cost for adult tickets is around $18 each. There was a huge line to enter the cinema!! Which makes me wonder if they are also short staffed? Interestingly, the line to enter was longer than the line at the concessions stand, which was definitely a first. read more

This AMC offers both Dolby and IMAX which gives you multiple options for viewing as well as your standard options. The place is always packed though. You'll almost always have a packed theater and there will almost always be a line for concessions. In general though, the facilities are kept well and the service is decent. read more

A spacious movie theatre inside a big mall and next to a food court. We came here to see Dune 2 on IMAX (very big screen). Comfy seats but not recliners. Surely there's crowd but thanks to the spacious layout and fully staffed counters, no lines whatsoever. It's generally pleasant as far as AMC goes. The AMC Georgetown is way more cramped and crowded. AMC Courthouse shakes (with noise) thanks to the metro directly underneath it. So this one is good just a bit far. The stalls in the toilet have peculiarly huge and wide gaps (between partitions). 3.5 I wanted to watch the movie "It ends with us" so it was perfect this place happened to be by for me to watch it! First I had to purchase my ticket at the kiosk on the side then we entered. It's a pretty good size place to accommodate a variety of movies. We purchased popcorn and sodas. The popcorn we received was probably the bottom of the barrel before they made more. There were so many soda flavors to choose from While we were getting butter, noticed that they may have been lacking staff to clean up the unsanitary mess piled up on the counter and floors. Trash all over the counter ... wrappers, napkins, popcorn droppings and all. Understandably that people are messy, however it shouldn't look like a disaster for the patrons. Anyway, the theatre was nice like the average movie theatre. Would definitely watch another movie here. Oh.. and I asked for a refill on popcorn... the newly popped was delicious!! read more

Worst dang theater to exist. This place is dirty and filthy and their employees are so rude!! We were trying to bring our reusable cup (btw this was an EMPTY cup which I have not had trouble bringing in any other theaters before...) but they were trying to make us place it on a table outside. I asked my partner if he could just bring the cup in so it wouldn't get stolen. Next thing you know this guy stops me and says "you can't bring that in" and I responded with "even if the contents are dumped?" He then said "if you had asked then I would've let you but you snuck it in." Like what??? Make that make sense, I DID ask. How are you gonna claim that I didn't even try to ask. They are SO rude. Like I'm not gonna lose my reusable cup for just a movie. read more

Not impressed with this theater. Came on a Friday night for a 5:45pm showing. $19 for the movie ticket. No reclining seats. The theater main area was filthy. They were completely out of coke in all machines, butter dispenser was out of order. For the price you pay, this needs to be addressed. Would rather go to another theater for the price. read more

I visited this theater last night to see Dune Part 2 on the IMAX screen. Great movie and the IMAX experience is worthwhile. Others have mentioned this theater has an older vibe to it and compared to the ICON theater just down the road, yes, this theater is a little older. The seats are not able to recline as much and they are not temperature controlled. You won't have full meals delivered to your seat like some of the newer theaters. However, there is nothing wrong with this AMC theater. Just know what you are going to get and plan accordingly. You are in a huge mall with tons of great food and beverage options. You can dine beforehand if you are looking for a full meal. The staff were friendly and the place is clean. The concession stand has good options for food and drinks. They have plenty of self-service kiosks by the ticket counter as well. Thanks for a good experience. read more

Been coming here for a long time to watch films in IMAX or Dolby. The IMAX screen and auditorium is amazing. I have seen Top Gun: Maverick, The Batman (2022), Avatar: The Way of Water, Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning, The Brutalist, F1, and Twister to name a few movies in IMAX. The Dolby theater is really good too, but the seats look run down and the floor was a mess the few times that I have been there. It did not look clean or neat in there. Also, there are some blue neon lights on both sides of the theater that stayed on during the whole movie which others and myself included may find distracting and takes away from the dark atmosphere needed for some film viewing. Just my opinion! If that is how Dolby cinemas are designed to be, then so be it. read more

I really like this theater for what it is, an older family theater in a great convenient location. It's clean, comfortable, and service is fast. I went here to see The Shift and if you haven't seen it I suggest you do! I went midday on a Friday and it was pretty scarce. About 8 folks in the entire theater. I was able to sit near the top of the theater, right smack in the middle. You can't always do that. The food here is pretty basic, popcorn, hot dogs, flatbread, nachos. That's the main reason I removed a star. Most theaters now also have adult beverages, and include "premium" items like pretzels, corn dogs, wings, tenders, salads etc. My seat was comfortable but it didn't recline. I see some reviews say that some of the theaters do? I'm not sure about that. I'll definitely return when I'm looking for a simple movie going experience. Cheers~ read more

I generally like going to AMC's and this one at Tysons is OK. I've watched a couple movies here and had good experiences. Its just a bit far from me since there are some closer theaters near me that I tend to go to. But I recently got a prescreen from yelp elite to watch Dune part 2 in the IMAX theater. I haven't watched IMAX movies in awhile and so was pretty excited. The IMAX theater was large with a huge screen and had nice comfortable chairs but were not the electronic reclining ones. The sound was good and loud but there would be an occasional red glare on the screen that would pop up and that kind of bothered me. Other than that the drinks are refillable which is nice especially if you get an Icee. read more

I used to be a member here but switched to Look Cinemas in Reston Town Center. It's the inconsistent service that really gets me. Some of the theaters are amazing and have reclining seats. Some (13) are old and smelly, no reclining seats and it's overall more expensive than the competitors. I like the app, but to keep from having to pay service fees when making seat reservations, you have to join their second tier membership ($15/year). It's convenient to see a movie and then go eat and shop - but that's about it. read more
