Honestly if this AMC shutdown, I wouldn't be sad. I've been here a handful of times and each time there's been an issue with the theater. When we saw Barbie, the surround sound didn't work. I went to speak to the employee about it and they did was just turn up the volume on the only speaker working. The other time I was there, they played the film in the wrong aspect ratio. So you couldn't see the subtitles being played. They never fixed it. Just go to a different theater. This place doesn't deserve your money. read more

I live around the area and frankly, if it werent for the toll going to Tysons AMC, I wouldn't come here as often as I do. It is in a small mall and even with that, the theaters are usually pretty empty. They are either sometimes short on staff or have technical issues or both- already had a couple of times in 2025 where the movie wasn't displayed due to technical issues. Theres no imax or Dolby but they have 3d. I have a list and I would say this place does the trick if I dont need the Dolby experience. But if I want to see avengers or wicked, I would definitely go to tysons. read more

AMC A-lister who has visited many AMCs across the country. I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Pros: -Reclining seats, fairly comfortable - Moveable little tables at seats! - Nice staff, friendly and helpful - Didn't purchase any concessions this time but the concession area seemed clean and well-stocked. -Shopping center is a bit of a bizarre set-up (is this a mall? No? Yes?) but nice. Cons: - Bad cell service. This could be a pro, but makes it a but annoying to use the app and other necessary services. AMC A-list wifi is just okay. - Sound and screen seem a but outdated. Fine but nothing special and there's limited special format options. read more

About a month ago, we went to see Avatar 3 at this theater, which they advertised as IMAX. If it truly was IMAX, it was the smallest IMAX screen I've ever seen. The picture and sound quality were very poor--so much so that my wife started getting a headache. We ended up leaving before the movie finished. It's no surprise that while every other theater showing Avatar 3 was fully booked, this one had fewer than ten people in the audience. read more

Here we go. This has been my go to theatre for years and I was always happy with my experience. However tonight was horrendous. Almost satirical where we were asking ourselves, is this actually happening? Tonight I bought 2 tickets to watch Scream 7 at 8:45pm. The service was horrible. First, there was no AC so the theatre was hot and muggy. I don't think it was cleaned either because my friend had stuff in the cupholder. The lights were bright for the entire previews. Then they didnt start the movie until 9:30pm. It abruptly cut off in the first 10min or so. No one came to fix it. We had to go and find an attendant and I asked for a refund. He said his manager could not come out to do the refund because they were in the back counting money even if we were requesting them. I asked for the manager again and nothing . No apologies, no accountability. We walked out after wasting money on concessions and no refund and no manager. Terrible place! DO NOT GO read more

The location of this theater is great, as is how secluded it is; especially at off times and during the week; and especially if you are used to the hustle and bustle of the surrounding area. Unfortunately, maintenance of the theater, the heating and cooling, and the availability of more high tech auditoriums tend to be lacking. Definitely dress in sweatpants with shorts underneath, and a t shirt with one or two layers; and be prepared to maintain or remove layers, according to the time of year and the heating (or lack thereof) on the day you visit. The food is nothing amazing but isn't bad either; much less by cinema standards. Given how costs are rising across the board at a rapid pace, and how low culinary expectations tend to be, I actually have to give a decent to favorable review of this place's food (depending on who is doing the preparation, anyways). read more

Calling Alamo or Cinemark, please buy out this location. This theater might have been something wonderful a few years ago, but the lack of upkeep and maintenance clearly shows the lack of care, effort, and interest by the owners/managers. This is a prime location and has a lot of potential - given the lobby is still nice and screens, too - but the seats are horrendous; where customers spend the vast majority of the time. I came here sitting in the mid section and my seat was literally tattered; I had to move elsewhere. Granted there will be wear and tear over the years on the seats, they were severely deflated, leather torn (and pokey), and even out of place compared to other seats in the row. These seats should either be replaced or (if finances don't allow), removed. I don't think I've been to a theater that had such terrible seats. It looks bad on AMC and on Herndon, too. Being in this environment, I didn't even feel like spending a dollar on popcorn or drinks. The corporate should come and take action or they should just sell the place to Alamo or Cinemark. read more

This one is getting outdated. There are so many better options close by. I do wish they'd do more promotions. This business should look at the University Mall theater example. Have caught a few movies here. Yes images and sound is decent, but again you'll find advanced ones elsewhere. Parking can be a nightmare. As for the employees they are friendly, and professional enough here. They just like the others charge too much for food and other concessions. Streaming is probably the future. As for the chairs and seats, I'll give them a comfortable rating. This works if your first place is sold out, or if you're in this neck of the woods. read more

Customer service at this theater was really poor. Don't bother to order food ahead, they will still wait until you arrive to make it and then look at you like you did something wrong when you ask why they didn't make it ahead of time. And they never apologize. The place is dirty and leaves a lot to be desired. Oh, if you go into your theater and there is nothing showing (not even previews, literally a blank screen) they forgot to start the movie and you'll need to go find whoever is pretending to be the manager and ask them to go ahead and start the movie (it'll take them about 15min to send someone over to start it). It was amazing the total disregard for customer service shown at this theater. read more

Oh, the movie mall. That's what my friend and I coined this place after visiting. It's a pretty odd setup to me. You park in a parking garage and enter into what feels like a mall to get to the theater. Only, there's a Panera, another random restaurant and then the movie theater itself. That's it- there's nothing else there. It's weird, and that's why we thought "movie mall" is an accurate depiction. But trust me on this, a movie mall is NOT as pleasant as it may sound, if it does sound nice to you. I know movie theaters can really range in being super gross or actually quite nice. The movie mall leans much more towards gross. Like, pretty icky overall. So, like dummies my friend and I accidentally walked into the wrong theater at first. But thank goodness it wasn't the theater we had to sit in, because it smelled AWFUL. So bad, like musty sweat and mold, almost as if something was wet and never got cleaned and it was disgusting. I felt bad for the people in that theater just sitting in the stink. Then we go to our actual theater where it thankfully smelled much more normal. But we end up moving from our assigned seats because you could literally seat the filth and lack of cleanliness on the chairs and side tables even in the dim lighting. Even pre covid this would've been really upsetting, like, do they ever clean their theaters? Who knows. The last thing, was that during our entire movie there was a really loud dripping/ clicking sound coming from somewhere in the theater. We couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from but it was really concerning, like was something about to break? Were we okay to be sitting in there for so long? Thankfully we got out very quickly and did not spend any extra time there. I hate to say that I do NOT recommend this movie mall place. There are plenty of nearby theaters in the Reston area that are wayyy better and won't make you feel like you need to shower after going. read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE SINCE THE MOMENT I WALKED IN!! Its Saturday September 13th 2025 and i came to watch DS again so... The movie started 10:45 i got there 15 mins later to avoid the ads But when i arrived 11 the doors were shut and the person on the other side was just yelling at customers who tried to go inside! Once i got in after showing the dude i had my tickets i tried to buy some merch and food and the dude started yelling AGAN "THE STORE IS CLOSED THE STORE IS CLOSED THE STORE IS CLOSED" bro the movie lasts 3 hours!!! You expect to not drink anything or eat anything for 3 hours while im TRYING TO WATCH A MOVIE IN A MOVIE THEATER LIKE WTH at this point my movie is already ruined because not only have i been YELLED AT but i was denied service to buy anything in th store! UGH!its frustrating. And i didn't wanna say anything to the dude that was yelling bc he looked like we could come at me like honestly i was scared! After going to my theatre room i noticed all the theatre door opened just blasting the movie and so during the movie you could here the other movies playing as well ILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS AMC THEATER AGAIN!!! 0 STARS!! read more

The plus side is you can usually get a seat and the location is good. The service at the counter takes forever, if they actually have the food they advertise. For context, this was a big weekend with two HUGE movies, and they have about 2 bags worth of popcorn on hand and no other hot foods that they are making that day. The floors are stickier than a bar, and half the soda is "unavailable". This doesn't seem like AMC "wants people to come back to the movies" like they claim. They seem to be on the verge of being unviable. I figured the first two times back here that they were just getting their groove back. But it's consistent Also, you probably don't even need to buy tickets, since literally no one is there checking. Not a single human. There are plenty of other good theaters for another 5-10 minute drive beyond here. Avoid this one. I will be in the future. read more

I was debating giving a 1 star rating which I rarely if every do. First is cleanliness and upkeep. The whole place needs a REALLY deep cleaning. The lobby carpets are stained and dirty, just yuck. The cupholders were crumby and looked sticky - we HELD our drinks! (Theater 6) While the chairs are the nice big recliners there were bare spots around us on the upholstery where somebody peeled it off maybe?? and if the cupholders and tables are gross I didn't really want to think about the seats too much. We HAVE been to this theater before and while it hasn't been sparkling in the past it didn't bother me like it did this time. I really hope they do a deep clean/rehab. The sound was also extremely loud. The manager apologized and said they have some problems with foreign produced films where they cannot moderate the sound. Huge disappointment as we were very looking forward to seeing this foreign language/subtitled romance and they just don't play in many theaters. A smaller thing: this theater is so conveniently located but parking is weird. There is limited above ground parking because it is basically in a strip mall. For some reason I just am uncomfortable with the garage there. I don't know about any increased theft or danger but just get the newbie-jeebies if those are still a thing. I hope the theater improves and we will be regulars if it does. We have passes for another movies so will probably try it again after the holiday rush and hope to see it in better shape. read more

Some sat in row C the entire time with his phone pinging and on his iPad too. Phone and iPad going the whole time! Mumbling the entire time. I told him nicely to turn off his chiming phone. He didn't. He got more and more annoying. He was also sharing a seat with a woman! That poor woman! IF AN USHER had done a theater check, they would have seen him and told him to cut it out. The movie went out about 4 minutes before it concluded. The left. Thank goodness. When the movie came back on, we got to watch it in peace. I can't believe how selfish and noisy people are these days!! The movie was GORGEOUS and the sound was at the right level. And this jerk worked so hard to ruin it. I was really not impressed with this location. I went here after a meeting to avoid traffic. It wasn't busy, but there didn't seem to be enough workers. I had to wait for the person at the box office to come over to the concessions. The theater smelled horrible. Like mildew. They did not feel clean. My cup holder was gross. I've attached a picture. This place should be decommissioned the chairs are falling apart they are extremely short staffed and the employees they have working there don't seem to care about customer service at all! When we arrived there were 2 employees at the front one for the tickets the other for the concessions. We went to order popcorn and a drink but weren't able to get slurpees because there weren't any lids to the cups ? The popcorn they provided was cold and hard popcorn. When we asked for a replacement they insisted they couldn't provide fresh popcorn because they were closing soon...it was 3 hours before they're closing time and customers were still coming in. read more

One of the grossest AMC's I've been to. My friend and I wanted to see a Oppenheimer using our AMC passes, and every theater near us was booked, including Georgetown, everything in Arlington, all AMC's near old town, etc, so we drove an hour out to watch Oppenheimer at AMC in Herndon. We really enjoyed the movie, but would never come back to this location. Although the staff seemed friendly, they were out of a lot of stuff at the concessions, the lobby was a mess, the bathrooms for women had no toilet paper in almost every stall, and the hand dryers were disgusting. I actually left with wet hands versus sticking into that gross contraption that had visible dirt/junk all over it. read more

I was highly disappointed with this theater. I was craving popcorn, but I was told there was no popcorn since the machine was broken. Ok... Do you guys have pizza? Yes, would you like cheese or pepperoni. I will take a pepperoni pizza. (A team member is looking for the pepperoni pizza). Sorry, we don't have pepperoni. Would you like cheese? No thanks. (Looks around). Is the bar open? No, unfortunately. In my head I'm thinking, why are you guys even open? I was informed that supplies would be restocked on Wednesday (today is Monday). So we go into the theater and the tables attached to our seats are not even clean! We did order a box of butterfingers. But even that was rip off! You would think the box would be full! I asked an employee prior to buying coldstone (ice cream located directly across the theater) if I was allowed to bring it in, they said yes, so I did. Oh man! They really fixed up this theater from when I was young! The chairs are fully reclining leather with mini tables to each. They have a full bar and variety of snacks at the concession stands! Staff is friendly and attentive. The theaters are clean! And there is assigned seating so you aren't fighting for spots once you're in. Great space and great experience over all. It felt significantly safer than it did a few years ago. The whole shopping center is picking up. Not the Worldgate I used to know. Bravo! read more

I will start by saying, AMC is easily my favorite chain of theaters. I've been a stubs member for well over a decade and became an A List subscriber on day one. I travel across the country all year for work and have been to countless AMCs. This theater did not live up to the standards that most AMCs seem to hold. To begin two of the chairs were broken and did not recline and was not fixable by any employees, which isn't the end of the world but should at least be mentioned when purchasing tickets or given some compensation since part of what you're paying for you're not getting. The real kicker was that it was a 7:00pm movie. 10 minutes after start time the screen was still fully blank screen. After bringing it up to a staff member they apologized and said it would be fixed soon... a couple more minutes later, the pre show walk in roll begins... not the trailers, not the movie... 20 minutes since show time pass by and still the trailers haven't even begun... this time I go out and ask if there is any proper update and the response I get is "the movie is running about an hour behind schedule so trailers won't start until 8pm". This is to a packed theater for Spider-Man on Christmas Eve... they have not made a curiously announcement to the audience or anything to give people a heads up. Technical problems happen, but the lack of trying to keep the customer aware of the situation or in the loop was just bad. Not the AMC that I know and love. read more

HORRID!!!!!!!! PLEASE tell me this place just lets you bring in food from the food venues near By. This movie theatres food was absolutely EFFING DISGUSTING. *First off, I ordered my food online because online it said I could pre- order my food and it would be brought to me. I ordered Chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks and a cherry Vanilla Coke. Upon arriving it looks nice. Little cool shopping center. Cute and mildly Chique. NOT!! I go inside and it's the dirtiest most run down movie theatre I have ever seen. All the workers could not give a fuck. I swear to god. I went to check in my tickets and the girl Was alright but she still couldn't give a fuck. *Secondly, after checking in I went to see what other things they offered for food. Even though I knew it was all crap and fucking inedible from the online website. I'm glad I went up to the workers there. They had said their fryer was broken and couldn't make anything except pizza and pretzels. They had this lazy ass look on their face. PEOPLE hire better associates. The business is only as good as it's workers. THE FUCK. I asked them how could I do a refund and they just looked at me with their not my problem faces and said oh I'll get my manager. Their manager talked on the walkie-talkie and the worker repeated back to me that the only way to do a refund is through the app because this HAPPENS A LOT. I did my refund and my sister and I went to eat eles where. We weren't sure if the theatre allowed food from outside so we rushed and ate half our food and then snuck in the rest. They hardly noticed. *Thirdly and lastly, I was still hungry so I decided to try one of the pizza options they had for Almost 11 bucks. 6 pieces of fucking burnt cardboard bro! I went to go pick up my pizza because they didn't even bring it to me when online it says someone would bring it to my row and seat. As I was in line the fucking girls bathroom started leaking and the plumbing went out or something. All the sewage water from the toilet spilled out of the bathroom and into part of the lobby. All the workers just stood there and didn't do anything about it. Someone Did block it off though. I was up to get my pizza and it was being prepped to go in a box. I asked the worker if I could just take it to my seat since no one had brought it to me yet. She said sure and the. I asked her if I could buy a hot dog and she repeated back to me oh I mean I don't think their fully cooked. I was the THE FUCK. Aren't they on a fricken warmer turner thing. Idk what the hell was going on with this place. I had gotten my pizza and sat down and it was horrid. 6 pieces of cardboard. I wanted to get a refund but that shit didn't work on the app. WASTE OF MY FUCKING MONEY. I had to pre so bad and since the women's bathroom in the main lobby was blocked off I went to check if the men's was okay to use. BATHROOM HADNT BEEN CLEANED FOR THREE FUCKING MONTHS. disgusting. I went to try the other women's bathroom on the other side and there WAS NO CLEAN TOILET. Every toilet had piss, poop, paper, you name it. I was not about to squat or put no fucking paper to protect. I don't usually go to Herndon so I was very pleased that they had this theater with reclining seats. Since Centreville upgraded their theater, I really dislike going to theaters that have regular seating (boojee yes). These chairs reclined back so far you could be sleeping. Although the chairs are more narrow and the little table for food sort of gets in the way, I'm glad I know this theater exists. Got a flatbread pizza, which was super thin and not really worth $9 and a regular popcorn for around $8 - they only had regular and large sizes. Employees were nice and helpful. The theater is situated in a strip mall with ample seating outside the ticket entrance. There's also a Cold Stone and Thai place right outside the theater plus garage parking. read more
