I just had one of the best moviegoing experiences at the theater in Franklin watching "A Great Awakening." From the moment I sank into those ultra-comfortable, spacious reclining chairs, I knew this was going to be something special. The seats are ridiculously plush--plenty of room to stretch out, perfect recline, and enough space that even my tall frame didn't feel cramped. It felt more like lounging in my living room than sitting in a theater, but with a massive screen and incredible sound. As for the movie itself, "A Great Awakening" is an absolute masterpiece. It's powerful, thought-provoking, and emotionally gripping from start to finish. The storytelling is masterful, the performances are outstanding, and the cinematography is breathtaking. I was completely immersed the entire time. It left me inspired, moved, and genuinely uplifted--exactly what a great film should do. The theater in Franklin gets everything right: clean facilities, friendly staff, and those heavenly recliners that make the whole experience feel luxurious. I can't recommend this combination enough. After years of complaining that Nashville doesn't have any good movie theaters, we decided to venture further out of the city to see if the AMC in Franklin is doing anything differently. While this theater isn't perfect, it definitely feels like a step above others in Middle TN. There is plenty of free parking on-site. We purchased our tickets online in advance, and heeded the warning about the movie starting 20 minutes or so after the initial time listed. The staff working concessions was quick and friendly - and they seemed appropriately staffed for a busy night at the movies. Popcorn prices are pretty standard to other theaters, and they do have several other food options if you're interested in more of a meal. Our movie was showing in the Dolby Theater (6), and I feel like this made our experience even better. The seats vibrate and are synced with the action and music throughout the movie, making it a truly immersive event. The recliners are comfortable, if a bit dated. Honestly though, there are still theaters in Nashville that don't have any recliners at all, so an older recliner is still a win in my book. Thankfully, the bathrooms were pretty clean as well. read more

We came for the 9AM movie and waited in line starting then. The kitchen wasn't open, and we were later told it wouldn't open until 10:30. By the time we could place our orders, the movie was almost over. We ended up leaving and now have to finish watching it at home. Our whole theater experience was ruined. The only other options were to wait for the food and then go home, or spend more money to see another movie and neither was acceptable. While we appreciate the $40 Stranger Things voucher for the food, that doesn't fix the fact that our movie experience was compromised. For big releases, this needs to be handled better: staff adequately and clearly communicate kitchen hours. It is disappointing that this theater advertises itself as dine in- there is no food ordering at the seats. The group next to me as for ranch dressing g from the server when their order at the concession stand food was brought to them in which the server said ok yet never returned- this is simply staff not caring. The theater (17) was not cleaned before the movie- it still had a glass with beer in the seat cup holder. For the price this theater charges it is simple that service, honesty how they promote themselves and cleaning does not matter. I do appreciate they show Angel films though which is the only reason for it not being 1 star. read more

Out of all the movie theaters in the greater Nashville area, this is the one I frequent the most. We were able to self-kiosk our tickets upon arrival. I love the immersion of the Dolby theaters - you feel like you're in the film with surround sound and felt movement in the chairs. I have also seen films in the Imax and their Dine-In here. All are decent theaters with quality recliner chairs; however, the Dine-In is my least favorite with constant distractions and smells and the Imax doesn't compare to the Dolby sound experience IMO. As with any theater, food/drink prices are grossly overpriced and I tend to avoid them. The only uncleanliness I have noticed is the lack of attention to the bathrooms. read more

Forgive me, Yelp!ers, for I have wained. It has been 10 years since my last review of this theater. AMC Thoroughbred is what happens when you're the only game in town. You know the local movie business is yours, so you opt to 1/2-step in service. First, let me address the Horton, of Horton Hears a Who, in the room. Theaters aren't taking and keeping in every cent of the ticket money. Concessions and pre-movie ads are where a particular theater can make some money. With that in mind, let's move to the issues. Thoroughbred did a facelift a while back. The front lobby looks good, but the keyword was facelift. The bones of tickets, and food and beverage, are still there. Now it's more self service. Want butter? Add it yourself. Candy? Bring it here and we'll charge you for it. Drink (other than bottled or a milk shake)? Here's a cup, go fill it. Napkins? Lid? Straws? Go hunt those down yourself. Currently, this theater would make Sam Walton's crew that started self-checkout, envious. We are just 1/2-step away from having to pop our own popcorn. The theaters are hit or miss. Some are what you'd expect - IMAX, plenty of seats, body rumbling sound. Others look like "So, the layout got really weird, it we had this space and put in seating. Yeah, sure the ticket is $23, and the sound is meh. Still, we will bring you some overpriced food. Speaking of food, this theater has a decent menu. The goal appears to be to compete with theaters like Alamo. This theater is an Alamo you order from Wish. I suspect if Alamo opened a theater nearby this one would either have to step up or start showing $1 movies during the week. I get it, Thoroughbred. COVID sucked. It went on for a while and all theaters suffered. Hiring teens or younger people and expecting a lot out of them is tough. Turnover is high. Wages are low. Still, if you'd do some balancing - take in lots of money when it's a new release and sell a lot of concessions? How about you allocate some of that to salaries and updates. Maybe lower the price of a theater rental and just use the odd theater. Heck, study Alamo's business plan if you're going to mimic them and don't just take the most profitable ideas. Boy this place is going downhill fast!!! Every movie we see starts late and most often we have to inquire about it to get it rolling. Sound doesn't come on for previews- again, get up and report it. I ended up setting a personal record visiting this AMC. I had watched three different movies in three consecutive days at three different movie theatres during my trip to Nashville. I decided to change things up, breaking away from Regal to visit this AMC in Franklin. What makes this AMC special is that you can order food at the concession stand and have it delivered to your seat. At Cineplex theatres in Canada, we have a similar setup. The difference is that you place an order at your seat and your order comes to you as part of your VIP ticket. You also pay a premium for this service at over $23 a ticket. At this AMC, you pay for your movie ticket only. The dine-in feature is an added perk. I paid $12.71 through the app and picked out my seat in advance. Cineplex seems like a ripoff in comparison. I purchased a ticket to see Everything Everywhere All at Once for 3 pm on July 4th. It was a straightforward transaction through the AMC app. All I needed to do was show my QR code at the theatre. There was plenty of parking in front of this theatre. I parked and made my way over. It's pleasant outside, with a fountain, greenery, and benches. I hit the concession stand to check out what to order. You cannot order food in advance. It was a late lunch for me. I saw bacon chicken mac on the menu and knew that I had to have it. I also got a small fountain drink with my order. The woman at the concession stand was patient with this first time app user. I had my QR code, but she needed more details. I was able to scroll up for her to get my name, auditorium number, and seat. I paid with a credit card and all was great. She gave me a cup for me to get my drink. I have been digging AHA drinks these days. They are fizzy and sugar-free. I got the blueberry pomegranate drink and loved the flavours. You fill up your fountain drink yourself. This AMC has twenty theatres. My movie was in auditorium 20. Signage was straightforward for me to get there. I visited the washroom before and after the show. It was clean and each stall was spacious. My seat was D4. The seats are leather and recline. Mine was comfy. I loved it. My food had arrived in a plastic bag. I thanked the woman who handed it over. I was excited. Here's the kicker. I took photos of my food in the dark. I was pleased how they had turned out. Yes, I was shovelling food into my mouth in the dark. The bacon chicken mac was awesome. You have your mac and cheese as the base. Breaded white chicken meat is deep-fried and sliced on top. Crispy bacon is chopped up and added with the chicken. It was delicious. It was comforting with a lot of protein to keep me full. The mac and cheese was cheesy and creamy. I loved every bite. My movie was quirky, but entertaining and good. I enjoyed it. I loved the air conditioning in this theatre. It was effective and perfect. The AMC was promoting two movies that foreshadowed what I'd be watching soon. There was a Minions foosball game that was adorable. I also loved the Minions backdrop where you could take photos. I'd end up watching that movie in Nashville later on my trip, severing my consecutive streak. It advertised Nope. It never occurred to me that I'd end up at a screening of this flick in Toronto. I set another personal record of seeing five movies in a month, with each one at a different theatre. This place has MacGuffins bar and lounge. You can grab a drink before or after your movie, or both if you're feeling rich. The seats around the area look like they were from the 60's style-wise. They looked cool. I see that this AMC hasn't been rated highly here. My view is a bit different because a movie experience in the greater Toronto area is way more expensive than what I had paid here, especially for getting food delivered to your seat. I am also not a regular movie-going gal. I do it in spurts. My tip at any movie theatre is to do a matinee if you can. You'll save a bit of money and it's typically not crowded. I had a great time. This theatre is perfect for those living in Franklin or neighbouring Brentwood. It's also great for someone like me who likes to have food delivered to my seat at a theatre because I'm so used to fetching my own. It was a nice perk that I thoroughly enjoyed. The thing that through us off was that all over their website it advertised these wonderful reclining chairs and dining but the theater we were in had none of that. On the positive side, an good for one star, the row immediately behind the handicapped row is raised and offers excellent sightlines to the screen. The recliners are reasonably comfortable after you sweep off the popcorn and get over that they are a little sticky. The theater is filthy. Really. Gross. Disgusting. Everywhere you are walking or standing in trash. We saw a 2:30pm matinee and there is absolutely no way the theater had been cleaned even overnight. There was one employee in the lobby that appeared to be pushing bits of trash with a broom into a dustbin. Had to be entirely for show, they wouldn't have had to move more than one foot before the dustbin would be filled. That employee didn't care. The theater appears to be entirely staffed with teenagers who don't care. Wife said she had to search every stall in the bathroom to find any toilet paper. Would have liked a drink and popcorn, but the line in the lobby was just too daunting. Sure "dine in delivery to seat" but pales in comparison to theaters that have actual in theater service. Visited June 20, 2023. I came for a pre-screening experience that started promptly at 7PM. Though this is categorized as "Dine-In" the service buttons do not work. Some viewers missed part of the film because they had to leave and place food orders. The room was not very clean either. This location does have recliner chairs and tray tables, I'm not sure if that's the case for all rooms but its nice to know the option is available. The theater is located off Mallory Ln on Frazier Dr in Franklin, TN. Their lot is a stand alone with plenty of parking surrounded by many chain establishment such as Chick-fil-a, McDonald's, Old Chicago, Chuck E. Cheese and many more. read more

My husband and I saw a movie yesterday at the Franklin theatre. There was improvement since our last visit but definite room for improvement. Last visit the restrooms were in horrible condition. Yellow tape up, stalls closed, no paper towels, floors dirty, etc. The restrooms were in much better shape this time. The lobby areas were in order and clean. Some areas of concern: the entrance had many leaves and dirt in the walkways. It didn't feel good walking up to the theatre. The movie was supposed to start at 3:15 in theatre 19. By 3:35 I went to find out why the movie hadn't started yet. There were five employees chatting with each other. They looked at each other and said "oh we will get it started". They were busy chatting rather than keeping the business running as it should. I see there are other similar complaints of movies not starting on time. We will probably try it again but it hasn't been a great experience at the theatre the past few visits. There does not seem to be a manager on site who really cares or the place is understaffed. With such mixed reviews for this location I was leery of trying them out--but they were the only theater in the Nashville area showing "American Fiction" as of January 2024 so we went for it. The mixed reviews (in particular) for the food, despite this being a "Dine-In" theater DID prompt us to grab dinner beforehand. All in all, a good+ theater. The seats alone, at least in our auditorium, may be the best in the Nashville area: full recliners with foldout trays and extra space between aisles. The theater (including the bathrooms) were clean, the employees were friendly. The theater is decked out nicely with more cutouts and movie standups than I've seen elsewhere and there were even free film posters at the ticket kiosk. The houselights stay on during commercials, dim to 50% during trailers, and cut all the way down for the feature. And contrary to some odd reviewer's complaints, all theaters show trailers and most of us want to see what's coming out soon anyway. The app works as well as their competitors and makes seat reservations a breeze. It does seem like for a dine-in theater, food is an afterthought though. There are no menus in the auditorium and no way to order food even through the app--something you can do at standard AMCs but not here, for some reason. Plenty of parking available as well. None of the above is enough to switch me from Regal though, as their subscriber program doesn't cap the number of movies you can see per week, their points accrue for free food much faster, and there are far more locations in the Nashville area. But if AMC is the only game in town for particular flicks, I'll be back. read more

Came here with the wife to watch Napoleon and have a nice dinner. Unfortunately the dine-in experience was absolutely underwhelming, especially compared to when we came here pre-pandemic. The food was overpriced and lukewarm. The chicken tenders and the salad wrap were abysmal, almost worse than gas station food. They are no longer coming to your seat as you have to stand in line to order before/during the show in the lobby, and it is a confusing, crowded experience overall. What's happening?! I am a stub's member, and every time i go to get my discount on Tuesday, it's a different price... I will not go to movies on any other day because the prices are way too high... I'm being told five dollar Tuesdays don't exist anymore, so the movies that I choose are anywhere from seven dollars to 14 bucks, depending on the seating... I am so confused... I think AMC is confused... The employees never seem to know what to tell the ticket purchaser... Please get things straight, and please offer five dollar Tuesdays again... Otherwise, I will wait until they are offered via stream and view them without ever leaving my home... Oh, another thing I was told that was very discouraging, is that in other states, the ticket purchaser is being charged based on where their seat is in the theater, and that is coming our way... I just went with friends to enjoy the Minecraft movie. Before the show started, I had got a barbecue sauce packet thrown at me. It was open and spilled all over my clothes and hair. I was extremely pissed off. The workers dealt with it well. I live in Antioch and only frequent this theater if a movie is not shown closer to home, and I'm not sure if I just catch them at a bad time, but each time I've gone to this AMC it's filthy. On one occasion, there was excrement and other unsanitary fluids in multiple stalls of one of the ladies restrooms. Another visit, I saw spilled popcorn, drinks, and candy at the butter and condiment section, which is to be expected but it was more than an excusable amount and when my movie had finished the mess was still there. During my most recent visit, the seats I reserved were covered in popcorn and dried beverage, so it was clear the theater hadn't been cleaned after the previous screening. I hate going to this theater. If you're wondering how COVID and other contagions are still running rampant in Tennessee, this theater is a prime example, just completely germ-ridden and unhygienic. Pro tip: bring some travel Clorox or Lysol wipes so you can do the cleaning no one else seems to care about doing. read more

Prior to a move in 2019 we frequented the Cool Springs AMC theaters often, and they used to be the best. HOWEVER, after our visit today we will NEVER go back. First off the overall condition of the lobby, hallways, and restrooms are atrocious. Dirt, debris, broken displays, and cleaning equipment everywhere. Every staff member we interacted with from entering the facility, to ordering food, to my conversation with a manager at the end of our visit, blatantly communicated they did not want to be bothered with any patron of the theater Our seats, and several next to us were covered in melted ice cream or milkshakes, and food particles. It looked as if a food fight had happened, and no one bothered to clean the mess up. The two teen/young adult staff members who were picking up debris from the previous showing laughed and told us where we could find paper towels. The "manager" told us "sorry" and turned his back to us and the other patrons who did not have seats due to the mess. Shame on you AMC read more

Good movie selection and popcorn refill - nice people working, even though services is slow at times. App purchase makes a big difference

This Thoroughbred has been my main movie theater for most of my life (even back when it was over where Stoney River is now!) It is one of the only convenient options for folks living in the Franklin/Brentwood area looking to see a mainstream movie, and since AMC took over, is a touch nicer and cleaner (with more plentiful parking) than similar options in Nashville or Bellevue. The Pro's: AMC website makes ordering tickets ahead of time, choosing your seat, getting into the theater, all the back theaters have reclining seats (which also means the theater is super spacious for folks wanting the extra caution in COVID times), dining at your seat can be a nice treat. They also still honor a "happy hour"/"early bird" matinee price for movies on weekdays that start between 4:30 and 5 (limited compared to Carmine's old policy, but who doesn't love a cheaper movie ticket?) The Con's: There is SO much variety in the quality & cleanliness of my experience & food when I come here. Sometimes the theater is filthy, with stale popcorn everywhere. I also HATE getting stuck in a theater without reclining seats because they are often too packed & have no mind for social distancing and/or masking. If you want to experience dine-in, they also have an EXTREMELY limited set of operating hours, which particularly sucks if you bought a ticket hoping for a dine-in experience and then realize the kitchen isn't open. (For what it's worth, the dine-in food tends to be pretty mediocre and pretty overpriced, but I get it's nice & convenient sometimes.) Lastly, they are perpetually trying to hire, so service tends to be understaffed and underwhelming emo high school students, with often ridiculously long lines at the concession stand (my brother spent over 15 min in line during our most recent visit to just get a popcorn & Diet Coke.) So, all in all, this is still my go-to for when I want to see a blockbuster or want to take advantage of their matinee deal, but the experience isn't particularly worth writing home about. read more

It would almost be laughable how awful this place is if we weren't crying over how much money we just spent tonight. So disappointing. We paid over $30 for two tickets and our seats were filthy when we arrived. There was sticky stuff all over the trays and popcorn all over the seats. Clearly not cleaned between shows. We had to go find someone to have them cleaned so we could sit down. We paid almost $60 for two mediocre cocktails. These are prices you would expect to pay in Vegas, not a gross AMC theatre. The food was overpriced but decent. At least they got that right. However, our messy burger and mozzarella sticks arrived with no napkins, so again we had to go back to the lobby to grab some when they should have come included with the over $30 food order. Save your money and go to a different theatre! This AMC is unfortunately quite sad and decrepit and poorly managed. The exterior is in shambles, the front doors squeak terribly, and it has the feel of an abandoned ghost town theatre. read more

Spend $55 for three movie tickets to go sit in a dirty movie theatre that hasn't been cleaned since the 2008 recession. Pay $7 for a soda at the Coca Cola Freestyle that they don't restock so all the flavors are out. The high schoolers have zero training and zero customer service skills. Pay $15-20 per meal to get a meal that comes out wrong. Overall the movies are overpriced and film is dead. A great way to waste around $100 with your family. They don't even let you order in the theaters allegedly they stopped doing that during Covid. That was like. Two years ago. It's just a lazy excuse because they have lazy staff. TDLR: Just get a movie on Amazon for $5 and order a pizza. Bonus: popcorn on the floor of the bathrooms and toilet seats covered in urine. read more

This is the second time in the past 6mos we've been to this theater, and it will be the last time. Both times, the experience was incredibly disappointing. On both visits, after paying more than $100 for 3 people to see a movie, have regular sodas, and share 1 popcorn, we find the concession staff rude, the popcorn cold and stale, the soda machines out of ice, and everything absolutely filthy. The self-serve soda area looked as if it had not been wiped down or swept up in a week and the tray tops inside the theater were sticky with dried food and soda. Going to the movies used to be an affordable and very enjoyable evening out, this place offers neither. Just unbelievable how badly this place is managed. They seriously need more competition. Very disappointing evening at this theater. It was quite obvious that it needed a thorough cleaning, but the least that could be done was a quick wipe of the food trays at each seat between guests. This is a theater where food is served at each seat, so it felt a lot like I was sitting at someone's dirty kitchen table during a long meeting. We also waited over an hour for our food, which was delivered to the wrong theater and had to be remade. I thought it was strange that the girl I gave the order to told me to "let the manager know if there was a problem with the order." That was prior to waiting over an hour, so clearly she knew that their kitchen doesn't function well. They were also out of some items on the menu before 8pm. Bathrooms were also unkept. This is a great theater. Came by to see a movie that was only playing at select theaters on a specific day. The theater was comfy and clean and the sound was great. I was here one time previously but it was owned by a different company I believe and I much prefer it now. Great theater!!! read more
