Came to buy 5 tickets 90 min before the showtime of the movie we wanted to see--every door locked, including the 'courtyard' gate--even though we could see 3 employees walking around in the lobby & behind the snack counter,& we literally beat on the glass doors with open hands, yelling & waving, nobody attempted to walk toward us or attempt to help including the lady who looked directly at us. Very disappointed & aggravated, especially since we'd invited a friend to come with us while the kids were out of Spring Break. Horrible customer service. It was made perfectly clear that no matter how much they NEED our patronage (because of the barren condition), they do NOT want it. We normally buy refreshments that cost more than the tickets, but today I will feast on the old Hall's lozenges in the bottom of my purse rather than give this place any more money. read more

Went to see Thor Love & Thunder today. Loved the movie. Purchased tickets ahead & every time we go, the machines to scan & print tickets do not work!! No one at the area to get scanned in, no one at concessions. A couple employees were standing off near the front restroom. Finally a girl came over, looked confused when we showed our phone for AMC rewards members..said she needed to scan for movie...I had to pull it up, so that's fine. Another girl walked over & the first girl went over to do something with the drink machines. Second girl was not friendly & needs to at least pretend like she cares about being there. Theater was much cleaner than 2 weeks ago, they had water bottles this time...and soap actually worked in the restroom; unlike our last visit. Hopefully, next visit will be better. "Hey what's that movie theatre we visited with the super nice chairs?" That, my friend, is the AMC Stones River! I visit this theatre about 4-5 times a year and have never had a bad experience. The popcorn is always fresh, the theaters and restrooms are always clean, and the movie experience is always amazing! And of course, the chairs are huge and plush and completely lay flat reclining. Although the prices are crazy, their pretty typical of most chain theaters, and I usually visit when I can get a discount through the AMC stubs app. The only reason this review is bumped down is the service is pretty substandard. Many times I've visited and there have only been a handful of employees, leading to long lines for concessions, and on one occasion, there was no one to check our tickets - we just walked into the theatre! All in all, this is the Premier AMC location in Rutherford County. read more

I have been going here since it opened and was pretty impressed, however not have things changed. We went to see the new Jurassic park movie this weekend and I was totally disgusted by this place. The place was filthy nasty. When we walked in to the theater it was over flowing with trash, the seats were sticky and full of popcorn. The bathrooms a complete mess. The soda machines I'm sure had roaches filling your cups it was disgusting. To think we spent over a hundred dollars between movie and snacks just to feel like we were at a homeless shelter. Not sure if it's new management or what. I get it that staff is hard to find these days but you have the ability to adjust your showtimes to allow for staff to clean a little. This is the best theatre in Murfreesboro to catch a movie. You can order your ticket on the app before arrival, which allows you to quickly pick your seat and have your scalable ticket ready for entry. The concessions are great. They have a wide variety from candy and drinks to pizza and pretzels. I love the thin crust cheese pizza! We saw Barbie in the newly renovated Dolby cinema. This screen is the largest (similar to an IMax) complete with a black interior and the iconic reclining seats. It's clean, modern, and the seats are comfy! This is always my first choice! read more

And the Oscar goes to... not this theatre! I want to love this place, but it's simply nothing spectacular. It does have some things going for it, but there's almost always a caveat. One positive is that the theaters are fairly clean and well ventilated so you never get too hot or cold. The bathrooms are in fairly good shape, but the all the soap dispensers are empty pretty much every time I have gone in there. The reclining seats are definitely a plus, but they are SO loud. I'm afraid to recline my chair because I didn't want people to get distracted from the movie. There's plenty of parking, but it's a long walk to get to the theatre, so be prepared if it's cold! They offer fairly standard concessions and the soda machines are very fun to play with. Everything considered, this theatre definitely isn't winning any awards, but it could definitely be a lot worse. read more

On Thankful Thursday, I want to thank AMC! Without you, I would not have been able to come back "outside." After the lock-down, I had a hard time becoming acclimated to some sense of normalcy. Pror to the pandemic, I was an avid moviegoer and I didn't know if I could keep the momentum going once the world opened again. Love this place! Great place for movies. I love the reclining chairs, the refreshment options (cocktails, not the popcorn) even though they are way over-priced, it's still nice to have a glass of water be it Long Island Iced tea while watching a movie! Tuesday's are the best days to come because movies are $5 per person. If you join the Stubs Rewards they even have a package where you can see 3 movies per week for $19. That's not bad, but I'm just not sure I'd want to see that many movies or would have the time to do so. read more

Not that Murfreesboro needed more movie theaters. But I will say for the prices that we pay to watch a movie it better have some good amenities and comfortable kick back chairs. This AMC has it! Easiest way to go is buy your movie tickets online. You can reserve your chairs. Show up and scan your phone with a kiosk person for entry. Concession has a little bit more options. If you love popcorns and drinks just be prepared to spend $$. They have the awesome coke machine. read more

Newest and bestest. Large, comfy seats that recline. State-of-the-art screen and sound systems. Alcohol for sale in the lobby. Reserve your seat when you purchase your ticket, kind of like they do on most airlines, which eliminates issues with saving seats where others want to sit. Tuesday and matinee tickets are very inexpensive. The only issue, and it's a small issue, is the temperature setting inside the theater. It is on the chilly side and I've seen people carry throws and blankets into the theater (in the heat of summer)! I have adjusted and do not wear my lightweight shirts there. The first time I went there, someone forgot to turn off the light in the projection room and it kept the theater lit until about 15 minutes into the previews, after another patron went out and told them the light was on. I haven't seen this since and I hope the bugs continue to get worked out. So glad we have this theater in town. read more

bought the godzilla popcorn bucket when the movie came out. went back after it was done showing in the theater and they filled up the popcorn bucket for us. just came back and brought the bucket back and they said that since it was an "unofficial" bucket that they couldn't fill it. we showed them the amc logo on the bottom and they then said that they still couldn't fill it, since the movie was done showing. i told them that we brought it back before and they filled it up and she told us that they weren't supposed to do that. even though i've seen multiple people bring in their buckets to get filled. i asked if we could just pay them to fill it up and they said if we bought a large popcorn then they would. absolutely ridiculous, why pay for $60 for a popcorn bucket if you can't even get it refilled??? extremely rude and just a waste of money. read more

The seats are great and they have a bar...probably the most redeeming things about the place. Took my Daughter and Granddaughter to see Jumanji: The Next Level on 1/3/2020 for the 10 pm show. Movies are a big ticket entertainment item now...tickets for 3, 3 drinks, 1 M&M, and a popcorn is going to to hit you for almost $75. Movie is supposed to start at 10 pm...10:05 pm no previews, nothing...10:10 pm I'm walking out to the concession stand and tell the attendant there is nothing playing for the 10:00 pm movie. He looks at me like...no way. He contacts someone over the radio, I get back to my seat and things start at 10:18 pm. Bathrooms are not very clean and the floors in the concession area were like walking on sticky tape and there was trash (paper, popcorn, etc.) everywhere. For the price of the popcorn, you would expect an exceptional product...it was not. It's nice they have a bar in the theater but this place when being built was touted as a dining/movie venue. This movie theater has nice reclining seats and everything is new. The cleanliness isn't great. Generally there is just popcorn everywhere and most surfaces are sticky. The biggest frustration is the drink lines. They don't serve you drinks when you get snacks. They just give you a cup and send you to those all in one drink matches. Most recently I went to a mid-day movie. Theater was 1/4 full at most... but I had a 35 minute wait... AFTER waiting in line for the snacks. Get it together AMC all these people are grumpy frustrated and missing the beginning of their movie. read more

I know it's probably difficult to keep clean but it really needs to be addressed. We just watched Super Mario Brothers and did not have the greatest experience. The whole theater complex needs to be cleaned. There was trash and popcorn all over the floor and behind the seats. The cup holders had trash in them as well. The concession stand was disgusting by the butter machine, and floor was sticky. The bathrooms had toilet paper on the floor and there was no paper towels to dry your hands. Also the was no soap in the restroom as well. Management needs to step it up. With as much as we are paying for tickets and food, they can at least provide a clean atmosphere to watch a movie. read more

Going to movies sucks now. The theaters are dirty, the seats aren't comfy, it's too expensive. The picture on our TVs at home are better a lot of the time too. AMC solves a lot of those by focusing on the experience of going to a movie. The new theater in the boro had incredible reclining seats that were very spacious. But the railings separated you from the Row in front of you. It felt more private. You also weren't touching the person next to you (unless you wanted to). The picture and sound quality were also very good. Prices for the matinee were awesome and they also offer $5 tuesdays. Thanks for making movies fun to go to again! Great place to truly sit back and enjoy the show! This theater has really differentiated itself from the two other theaters in Murfreesboro. You can actually pre-purchase your ticket, as well as pre-select your seats on their website or app. This is great for families and big groups so you can ensure you all get to sit together. There's also several kiosks when you enter to purchase your movies onsite. There's a line for cash and a line for credit cards and it moves relatively quick. However, all that efficiency that you gain in the ticket purchase process, you lose when you go buy concessions. There's only one concession area to accommodate all the movie-goers. And with Murfreesboro's current bustling population (and growing)...that's not a lot. There were 5 or 6 registers, but only 4 cashiers. Yes...4 cashiers to support several hundred patrons on a Tuesday night (that's when I went). I can't imagine the madness on a weekend. So if you want popcorn and drinks. Get there waaaaayyyyy early. It took us about 20 to 25 minutes before we were able to get our popcorn, snacks and drinks. I will say though, they have quite a variety of food options. I didn't get it, but I saw flatbread pizza on the menu. I got 2 drinks, a popcorn, pretzel bites, and peanut m&m's and paid $36. Yowzas! But it's the theater. It was to be expected. Money saving tip - they have $5 Tuesdays! But you have to join their members program. There's 3 tiers. The free tier does include $5 Tuesdays. ;) The theater deserves 4 stars because the seats are truly comfortable. They recline and there is plenty of arm space between you and the next person. The theaters are very clean and so are their bathrooms. I know it's a newer theater but I hope they keep this up. It didn't get a 5 because of the inefficiencies of the concession area. But this will certainly be my hometown theater to frequent. read more

Great new theater! When you arrive, you won't see the entrance facing the parking lot. You have to park and walk around it because the doors are on the opposite side. I don't get why they did it that way. At least they could post a sign "entrance" with an arrow. That would help many first timers. I watched a movie for less than $6 in Sunday morning- which couldn't be a better deal because this theater has very nice recliner seats. There are plenty space between rows and seats so you will feel comfortable even if the auditorium is full. I think I found a new favorite theater! read more

Went and saw the first showing of Top Gun Maverick. Bought the tickets on-line but found the automated ticket machines weren't working. So we went to the concession line to get popcorn and our tickets printed out. The line was very long with a manager ( I believe) and one other employee who went on an extended bathroom break. We're a premier stubs member so we went through the shorter line. I heard people who were upset about a 10+ minute wait. About 1/3 of the line just left to go into their theater. The employee had one speed -very slow- and it took forever for him to take care of each customer. The next customer in the regular line became agitated that we were called up next (being in the Stubs line). The manager made no attempt to explain why we were taken first or calm the guy down. The bar at this theater is never open. We passed on purchasing probably $100+ worth of concessions last night because of this. I've been there multiple times, none of which has the bar ever been open. The whole place appears to be run by minors who aren't legally allowed to serve alcohol. Not sure why AMC would spend thousands of dollars to put in a bar with taps, get beer and liquor licenses, etc. then not bother to employ someone who can pour drinks. Won't be back. read more

No security. We went to see Spider Man No Way Home today and complained repeatedly about disruptions in the rat heater. Security never came. We did not enjoy the show due to noise and teens running around the theater. We won't be back. Normally we go to the other AMC in town. We might drive the extra few miles to go to Malco. Sorry for the bullet points, but here goes. - My wife and I could not figure out how to advance order tickets on line - You CANNOT order advance tickets at the kiosk in the lobby - You need to go to the concession stand to order advance tickets - Maybe, if you are an AMC Stubs member, you can advance order better - AMC Stubs members have an express line to the concession stand. - This made me feel second class - NO water fountains in the entire theater. Is this legal? - You have to ask for a water cup and get that from the self serve soda - How do they know I won't fill it up with soda? (never mind) - Long lines at the two self serve soda fountains - need more - Self serve butter for popcorn comes out in tiny drizzle - takes too long - Self serve areas for everything were messy - Self serve areas were not stocked with straws, napkins, lids, etc - Wonderful, spacious seating - loved it - Motorized recliners were quiet and allowed varied seating postures - How will they ever know if the recliners are not working? - GREAT sound system - GREAT large screen and projection system - Men's restroom could have been cleaner - Bar looked fully stocked with lots of good stuff. It is out front of the ticket-taker, so you can stop in there just for a drink, without crowds. read more

This is my favorite movie theater to go to ever since it got built a little while back. The seats recline and the best part is that you buy your seats ahead of time so you don't have to worry about getting there early to get good seats. They also have more food than a normal movie theater, but it's overpriced, of course. The staff is always friendly and the theater is always clean. Their bathrooms are pretty decent, also. So far i haven't had a bad experience. It's definitely my favorite place to go just because it's way more comfortable and relaxed. read more

A loose remake of the 2000 film What Women Want, the plot follows a woman who, after drinking a potent concoction given by a shaman, gains the ability to hear men's inner thoughts. It stars Taraji P. Henson, Aldis Hodge, Richard Roundtree, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Tracy Morgan. Great Move! Since, Im not doing a movie review on to yelp business... Ok, my verdict on this particular theatre - It was ok but wasn't what I expected. Reason being, I've been to AMC Theaters in Atlanta that puts this one to shame! I guess once you have a taste of good its hard to go backwards. I was expecting what I got in Atlanta with bigger seats, chair trays (for food) and more personal space (not being too close to your neighbor), etc. So, since I didn't get the same atmosphere that I got at the AMC in Atlanta, I will not go back to this location. I would just prefer going to a regular theatre verses what you pay at an AMC... Im just talking about this particular location only due to when in Atlanta I will go to AMC Theaters due to they are different.
