Handlebars is a fun little beer bar. Good food. Reasonable prices. Great bartenders. Owner is a pretty cool guy.

If you can get past the smoke-filled bar, and yes, it's pretty bad, the rest is old school, biker, laid back, friendly and inexpensive.

They did NOT disappoint!! I am officially hooked! From the moment we walked in, I could see and feel the sheer energy coming from the crowd and the ambiance: it already felt like great food and great people. It was packed to the brim for Wine Wednesday! They had one table available for two! Our server, Sarah, was outstanding!! She was sweeter than pie and extremely attentive! She always made sure we had exactly what we wanted when we wanted it. She advised sharing a bottle of wine since we wanted the same one, and since it was half price most wines. The young manager on duty delivered and uncorked the bottle, and she was just as sweet as Sarah! Her name escapes me, but I will find out the next time I go. The Spanish Tempranillo we tried was divine! It was perfectly balanced without being too dry or too tannic or too sweet. It was so smooth and thoroughly enjoyable to drink! For food, we started with the goat cheese bruschetta. It was perfection - rich in flavor and well balanced in the distribution of each component! From there, we tried the special of Steak Tips Au Pauvre - with a peppercorn wine sauce. We chose brussels sprouts as our side, and it also came with a side salad. We weren't too hungry, so we split it. Sarah even had the kitchen split both the salad and the main dish in half for us! The salad was so fresh (with ripe grape tomatoes!!) and the ranch dressing was classic and delightful. The wine sauce was everything I wanted it to be: rich, complex, thick, and buttery. It reminded me of the beautiful sauces you find on a steak or chicken dish at a sidewalk cafe in Paris. The dessert menu looked amazing, but we didn't have any room left. All I can say is you MUST try this place!!! If you can find Sarah, even better!

Whether you're building your own burger Frankenstein-style or diving into one of their signature stacks, you're getting a serious meal. The vibe is laid-back and loud in all the right ways. It's the kind of place where you can bring the family, catch the game, or just cure a craving with fries you'll definitely regret sharing. The staff keeps it moving without rushing you, and the bar's got a surprisingly strong selection of local and regional beer. Come hungry, leave full, maybe question your life choices--but in the best way. It's a burger joint with attitude, and Murfreesboro's better for it.

I got the buttermilk bacon for my burger and it should only be served as a side or appetizer. The half slice of bacon is breaded so it is over an inch thick and there were 4 pieces on the patty. There is no way this could fit in a normal sized mouth if you add any lettuce or other condiments. I asked for Brie and got one 1" slice. Definitely not what I expected for a $3 up charge. The sweet potato fries were inedible due to the salt they were doused with. I will, however, recommend the house fried chips with onion dip and it was a shame to have to leave it since there was so much of it. It probably would be great in place of mayo on a burger. I also observed 5-6 people wandering in and out of the back that weren't wearing uniforms but seemed to know everyone as they stood around chatting. Why??? Not very professional for food service. One young man in particular kept running his hand thru his long hair as he stood near the staff area for drinks and the pass. Ugh! There was also another guy with hair down to his waist that was pulled back but man!, that ponytail was swinging loose everywhere from the kitchen to the bar. Again, ugh! Neither of those would I want near where my food was being prepared. The menu is a fun looking and eclectic mess but we won't be back. I prefer a food be under-salted as one can always add more if needed and the hair completely turned me off.

The food was delicious, flavorful, and well-prepared. The desserts were especially amazing and definitely one of the highlights of the meal. Unfortunately, the wine was very disappointing. It tasted like vinegar, as if the bottle had been left open for too long, which really took away from the experience. The service also wasn't great. Our waitress barely checked on us throughout the meal, and we felt rushed to leave rather than being able to enjoy our time there. Overall, the food and desserts stood out, but the service and wine experience left room for improvement.
