Grindstone Cowboy was such a wonderful find! We originally stopped in for coffee and enjoyed the atmosphere so much that we decided to come back for dinner -- and I'm so glad we did. The food was wonderful, the ambience was warm and welcoming, and they even had live entertainment, which made the evening that much more enjoyable. One of the highlights of our visit was the delightful young lady working behind the counter, Todd's niece. She was absolutely wonderful and completely sold us on trying their tomato bisque. She was friendly, knowledgeable, hardworking, and then even delivered our food to us afterward. It was so refreshing to see a young person taking pride in her work, helping with the family business, and earning her way with such a positive attitude. That really stood out to us and added something special to the experience. From the coffee to dinner, the service, atmosphere, food, and live music were all 5 out of 5. We will definitely be back and will absolutely recommend Grindstone Cowboy to others. A true small-town gem! read more

I've been here a couple of times and I love it! It's a friendly place, they have great food, great coffee and good service. I got a breakfast burrito, it's delicious and big enough to share. My kids got the biscuits and gravy- a delicious choice as well. The cinnamon rolls are some of the best! I highly recommend. I love the atmosphere and country music too! read more

Saw a post on Facebook that stated this was one of the best known restaurants in Tennessee. That it is crowded all the time and people will travel hours to eat here. After my experience, I think the statements are a bit exaggerated, although I do give it high marks. The name Grindstone cowboy is a nice play on words. First, they are a coffeeshop with a bar and deli type items, so grindstone fits well with the title. Grindstone Cowboy is a nice play on Rhinestone Cowboy, the song by Glen Campbell in the 1970s. The western feel of the restaurant complements the name. There is also a vintage store attached to the restaurant/bar for those who happen to like a little shopping with their meal. I had the BLT and she had the chicken salad sandwich. I will say I am not a huge fan of chicken salad, but I could eat this one (would not be tops on my list, but I could do it). The BLT was very nice. I added avocado and don't regret that decision. I thought the bread and bacon choice was on point. A heirloom tomato would have popped this up another notch. Overall, enjoyed it. I do feel the pricing is a bit high for a small town diner. Perhaps it is as popular as the social media post suggested? I did pay in cash to avoid the 4% credit card fee. Would I return? I would not go out of my way to get back here, but if I was passing through, I would certainly consider another go if I was in the mood for a sandwich. read more

Great hidden gem in the small community of Eagleville. The inside has a rustic western theme. There are several tables for seating and if the weather is good they have some outside sweating as well. The service was good and everyone was very nice, but the line to order can get long resulting into a bit of a wait. You have a choice from many specialty coffees and they are full of flavor. Way better than Starbucks! Coffee is bold and smooth, and not over the top sweet. I had the Sausage Breakfast Sandwich and I was not disappointed. Depending on where you live, this one might be a tad out of the way, but if you're looking for good food and good coffee this is a great spot in Eagleville! I would say this is more of a grab coffee/food with friends and family kind of spot, though I did see a couple people studying while I was there -- it's a bit more of an energetic space than a quiet, hunker-down-for-hours kind of space! The coffee and pastry I tried were both really good and I could tell a lot of people there were frequent flyers -- which is always a good sign if people keep coming back! Have been really excited to try this place with the lack of other coffee shops in the area so we came for breakfast and coffee. The coffee was great, I got the Clint Eastwood latte, however the food was another story. I ordered avocado toast, which to my surprise was not really true avocado, you could tell it was that mushy store bought guacamole, the rest of the toppings were good however (a fried egg and tomato), next to time I will have to try something different. I did also get a fresh sticky bun and loved that. The atmosphere is great, decor is exactly what you would think it would be! Two visits. Two good experiences. Eagleville is a few-frills, Mom-and-Pop, small-town, rural Tennessee community. The shop is on Main Street (a.k.a. Hwy 41A) where many customers come to sit and chat in the small, rustic, and often crowded space. Expect a line at peak hours and a wait. Street parking is tight and can be frustrating, especially if there's much traffic. The Cowboy's marketing sparkle and products attract folk from all over. A person who knows how to dance will feel at home striding and twirling through the crowd and back-to-back tables and chairs. The staff take it in stride and so should customers. If you're expecting an in-and-out dash for coffee and a bite, you may be happier miles away at your favorite Fourbucks million-dollar drive-through vending machine. Newbies really need to just come inside, stand in line, and enjoy the community experience. Get to know your country singers and wild-west heroes, because the most delightful coffee drinks have famous namesakes in the 'Outlaw Lattes.' Foodies will find happy places in the comfort of Bacon Grilled Cheese, Tomato Bisque, BLT, or the BLAT (BLT with an avocado smash.) The cinnamon rolls are also mighty fine. Mighty fine. They have fresh baked goods too! Yummy! There's a killer vibe inside too! It's got a great feel. Comforting and fun. They also do dinner shows and it's all inclusive for a dinner and a show ! We did that and had the steak dinner with green beans - cheesy potatoes and chocolate cake! And woweeeww was that amazing ! You have to book that on their website and they do 3 / 4 shows a month ! We drove from Portland TN to check out this place, after seeing it on TN Crossroads.....NEVER AGAIN! I order the Boss (hog maybe I don't remember) with pimento cheese on the side. Our food was brought out and the PC was on the sandwich. I returned to the young lady (very young and thin) that brought it to me and advised I needed it on the side...nothing to except a look. I waited and waited and finally asked another lady about and she advised they were making it and it would be right out. Moments later, I watched as they served the same thing I ordered to another table and then a few minutes later it was returned because it wasn't what they ordered. I had a funny feeling of what was next so I went back to the register, where I could see the returned sandwich. A few minutes later the lady that had been helpful picked it up and said here ya go. I laughed and said "that was sitting on someone else's table so no thank you, I'll wait for a fresh one". Isn't it a health code violation to serve food that was served (and left) on someone else's table? The young lady that I gave the wrong dish to wouldn't even speak to me afterwards. I tried to flag her down twice and nothing. Had to go back to the others each time. It's a shame that young staff do not know how to apologize when they have failed at their job. This is the 3rd TN Crossroad-reviewed restaurant we have been to and probably the last. The last two have been horrible. The food was okay but it's not something I would drive more than 20 minutes for because of the service. I don't trust any restaurant that will try to serve food from someone else's table....NASTY!!! No one is expected to be perfect but to try and serve something that someone else had returned is very bad business. read more

Had lunch at Grindstone Cowboy today in Eagleville, TN. The atmosphere and décor here is really nice, the cakes and pastries here look delicious, and a wide variety of coffee and drinks are available. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant and an Americano. Go with the lunch combo of a drink and side...it's a great deal at $12 versus $18 for the items ordered separately. The croissant was light and buttery while the chicken salad was not overpowered by dressing or seasoning...you enjoyed delicious chunk chicken with some mayo and celery. The Americano was good but I am not a fan of those little pod creamers when you are getting specialty coffee...the cream makes a difference and can enhance the flavor of the drink. read more

I appreciate the drive thru--have been there several times. I also like that you could eat outside. The coffee is really good and the chicken salad is great. I had mine on gluten free toasted bread because I wasn't in the mood for a spinach wrap or croissant, though they are both very good as well. They didn't have whole wheat either. They kind of forgot about me this time when they asked me to wait passed the drive thru. I went in after 30 minutes and got my food. Such a cute little place for lunch. They are known for their coffee and sandwiches. We had the turkey panini, Santa Fe wrap, BLT, and chicken dumplings. The sandwiches and wrap were good....very filling. The portion were large. Of course we had to try the strawberry frappe, strawberry smoothie, and Clint Eastwood. Saw Grindstone Cowboy on Tennessee Crossroads and drove from Spring Hill for breakfast. Great backroads drive!! Restaurant has a very cool country ambiance, loved it. I got a breakfast bowl and my wife got the avocado toast. Very good food, I could not finish my large bowl of eggs, pulled pork, potatoes, cheese, tomato, jalapenos, a dollop of guacamole and some kind of tasty sauce. My wife commented several times on the delicious tomatoes on her avocado toast. They must be locally grown, as you don't get primo tomatoes in the store. read more
