Where do I start? We walked into Gary's Place completely alone. That should have told us everything. We went to the bar to have a drink. One of us glanced at the menu, and the bartender instantly began pressuring us to order food. She asked at least 3-4 times, even though we made it clear we were starting with drinks. When we asked for water, she ignored it and instead said, "Okay, what food do you want?" She told us the kitchen closed at 9 PM, it was 8:24. Then she took a 3.5 dozen wing phone order, returned, and suddenly told us we had to order now. When we questioned her, she blamed a "big to-go order coming later." It was clear we were being manipulated. We reluctantly ordered just to get her off our backs. Minutes later, we asked to cancel and she refused. We ended up waiting nearly an hour with no food. She said the large takeout order (which hadn't even arrived yet) was being made before ours. To top it off, she refused to give us her name when asked. Completely unprofessional. This was the most uncomfortable, disrespectful, and frustrating experience I've had at any bar or restaurant. Gary's Place is dishonest, poorly run, and treats customers with zero respect. A lot of options on the menu. Not "fine" dining but don't let that fool you. Sometimes you just want a cold beer and a fried hotdog with bacon, lettuce, tomato and ranch. Gary's has been around forever and is known for two things: great wings and a smoky local hangout. I've been there maybe 2 times in the last 5 year mostly because as others have mentioned not a very inviting environment. When the management needs to post "shoes and shirt are required" on the front door that speaks volumes to their clientele. However the wings are the best in the area hands down. I just moved close by to Gary's and I was craving wings. Now, keep in mind, I come from Boston where the food is outstanding. I heard from "locals" that this is the place for wings.... .nope, thumbs down. I'll get right to the point, they were the worst Buffalo wings ever! The skin was super rubbery that i peeled it off n threw them away, hardly any Buffalo sauce on them, and the Blue Cheese was thin and watery; no chunks of cheese Never again! The cashier wasn't even friendly. And 10 wings n 5 Stix came to $24...what? I thought I was in Boston for a second. I gave 1 star bc the Mozzarella sticks were pretty good. This is a "regulars only" type of place. First time I went was with a regular. Good service, friendly staff, and really good food (burger and wings were great). Next two visits...wow! Walked in, bartender said empty seats at the bar were taken and server said someone else was waiting for the empty table we tried to sit at. No offer to help find seats. We ended up leaving. Next time, same seating issues. My group found a table on porch. Waited 30+ minutes before we finally had to wave down a server. She was talking to the table next to us and said she was going on break. Another server comes out to take our order. We ordered a bucket of beer. 2 hours later we ended up walking out without paying because no one ever came back! Good luck if you want to try Gary's! You'll never see me there again. read more

We come here for trivia night quite often and we love the place. Diamond always treats us like royalty and the food is really good for bar food. Beer selection is okay with some surprise on the list now and then. I love the bacon cheeseburger and the BLT. Lots of specials so check out their Facebook page for those. I ate here years ago but the smoking in the place was to much for me. Now trying it since it has gone smoke free. Had a bacon cheese burger with fries. Was asked how I would like it cooked. Asked for medium (warm and pink in the middle). Was also asked do I want ketchup and mayo. Burger comes well done and no sauce placed on it. Bacon was over cooked and with burger well done, I am guessing they lost their attention span in the kitchen or they do not care. My take they do not care. The food here is great pub food. Lightly seasoned/battered fries are excellent. Good handmade burgers with a selection of choices. Buffalo wings are either bone in or bone out, with 20 different sauces. In fact, I like the food enough that I order take out here from time to time. The cocktails are well made, not watered down. The beer selection could use some work. In fact, the only thing stopping this from being a 5 star review is the beer selection. Though it is better than some in the area, the times are changing and people want craft and import beers. The service is excellent. The servers are attentive without being annoying, and always friendly. Live music on Friday nights is usually pretty good classic rock. The environment is a cool old school bar meets classic car garage look, which is welcoming. There is a small dance floor, a few pool tables, and of course, a bar. read more

I have never written a google review, but my experience at Gary's marked the worst customer service dining experience ever! My niece (who is is a psychologist) just moved here from Florida and wanted to eat/dance, so I suggested Gary's. Just before dancing, she asked our waiter for a styrofoam cup (to dance with) and he gladly brought it to her. Just as she transferred her drink into the cup... a different female server (who wasn't even our server) literally ran over and confiscated my niece's drink and rushed away without a word. We were floored at such belligerent, bizarre behavior! I went to "Nick" (the bartender/ manager on duty) hoping for some reprieve or an apology, or at the least, for her drink back. He pigeon holed her and, accusatorially, said she was going to steal it, staking that he has been around and knows this, and told us to just leave, refusing to make he and his employee's wrongs right. Seeing the lack of diplomacy that we were dealing with, I asked for their names, so as to follow up with owner the next day. Nick refused to give his last his name and his employee said, and I quote, she wasn't giving her "fricken name." All in all, I have never encountered such unprofessionalism and aggressive, discourteous customer service related behavior. At the end of the day, leadership is as leadership does, and the the lack of patrons is reflected therein. The unfortunate thing is their food is actually pretty good. read more

Heard about this place from some good friends who use to visit regularly, but stopped going because of some not-so-friendly staff. Anyways- my wife and I decided to give it one more shot. Needless to say, it was the last shot we were giving Gary's - Forever. We arrived and immediately got a negative vibe from the bartender. Never caught his name, but I think his name was Dick? or Nick? One in the same apparently, because he was rude to myself, and kept staring at my wife like he had never seen a decent woman in that establishment. Found that a little off-putting. Next comes our food. We had to ask twice for a menu, which our waitress (Raya maybe?) informed us that this place had "the best wings in town". So, we decided to give them a try, why not? About 30 minutes later, they arrived at our table, and we proceeded to much on them. There must have been some undercooked chicken in the batch, because it resulted in both of us being ill for the next 4 hours.....AVOID the wings at ALL COST. But, that isn't the end of it. There were some "Regular" customers sitting near us who were drinking, some playing darts, playing pool, and just shooting the bull. We decided to play some jams on the juke box, until we were told that it was a sports bar, but not an actual BAR....so, don't waste your time, folks. So I'm not a person who EVER post reviews but I feel very compelled to do this one. I'm not a difficult person and I understand people are human and we all make mistakes but this establishment will never EVER get my business nor will they get many of my friends business as well. We ordered $88 worth of food to have delivered by door dash , the poor door dash girl could not get ONE employee to help her make sure she was getting the correct order nor did it have our name on any of the tags. She got to my house which is about a 20 minute drive with only half of our food. So explaining that to 6 hungry kids was a little difficult. So she generously went back to get the rest of our food. So I called the manager NICK and explained to him the situation thinking maybe he would give reimburse part of our $88 dollar order and he frankly said NO it was all of DoorDash Girls fault, which I didn't think all the blame should be put on her bc she picked up what she thought was ours and the rest was hidden in the back of table remind you none of the bags or pizzas had our name on it. So NICK was extremely rude to me and told me he would not and can not reimburse me or even give me credit if I ever was to order from them again. He constantly overtalked me and flat out said ma'am I'm sorry I can't help you. So moral of the story is , right is right , wrong is wrong. When you run a business such as this one you should treat your customers with respect no matter the situation and at least try to make things right because your held to a high expectation when you manage a place of business. Again this is my first time ever doing a review on ANYTHING but I really don't like rude and not nice people and that's exactly what NICK was to me and I'm very easy to please and very understanding. So this place will NEVER get our business again nor will he be getting any of my family and friends business. read more
