Place is consistently good and staff is nice and attentive. We went during happy hour and food has gotten better! Old fashioned ways on HH and really good. Pretzels were on HH also and delicious. Wings were $1 that night and had lemon pepper - pretty tasty! We split the Philly Cheesesteak and it was enough for us. Plus fries are always a hit. Our little is a fan of the grilled cheese but opted for the mini corn dogs which were a hit! Bill was reasonable. Parking can be tight when the are busy. read more

My Sorority Sisters and I had a nice time at Corner Pub in Franklin, Tennessee last Sunday afternoon prior to a concert at the First Bank Amphitheater. This location is very convenient to Berry Farms. I think it is five miles from Berry Farms. I was anticipating a dive bar (in the best sense of the term) and it actually had more of a neighborhood sports bar feel, which was nice! Our server Luke S., was kind, friendly, helped with suggestions, answered questions and was a sharp server! Thanks Luke! Their small patio with umbrella covered tables was dog friendly and were it cooler that day, we would have enjoyed dining al fresco! My French Dip and fries were fresh and delicious! My pinot grigio was great! Sister's both loved their Reuben/tater tots, cocktail, and fish and chips. Honestly, I would get the Reuben next time! It really looked fabulous with a beyond-generous portion of meat!! The restrooms were clean, too. Parking was ample! And there was zero wait for a table on a Sunday afternoon. There were plenty of TVs to watch sports and things, and the menu was extensive offering numerous sides, meat and threes, and tons more! My only complaint is the plastic covered menus were sticky and really needed a good wiping down, as were most of the tables, and I had to ask for things like a set up for me, and I had to get bev naps since no extra full sized table napkins were provided to us, nor were they readily available at the server's section. To Luke's credit, I didn't ask him for extra napkins; however, we did need them. We've lived in Franklin for 5 years. I've driven by this place before but it never looked appealing enough to stop in. Decided to try it out from word-of-mouth. And boy am I glad we did. Our server was so friendly and knowledgeable. The food was great. Granted it's bar food but it's good solid bar food! Was with my husband and three children and everybody just really enjoyed the experience. Definitely a great little family stop. My husband and I had fish and chips. Absolutely the worst food ever! The fish was fried so hard that you couldn't hardly cut it. I don't know if they were trying to disguise a bad flavor or if it was left over and refried. Mine was so tough. It felt like it had lots of bones in it. My husband and I both have diarrhea all day the next day. The lettuce and the salad was wilted. Our friend got a catfish basket, which include included three very very small pieces of catfish. Love this place. It's one of our regular spots, and it's always reliable. Not a fancy place (and it's not popular with tourists), but it somehow just feels like home. Everything we've tried from the menu has been really good (the fish tacos are my current go-to), the employees and customers are friendly, and we've never had a problem walking in and getting a table any time we want to. I'm not one to complain, but I will call it like I see it though. First off service was exceptional. My waiter was great and the staff seemed very friendly. My feedback is based on stocking and food alone. Wings were mediocre at best. Flavor was good, and the cook on them seemed perfect, but the meat was dry, and like they were clay. Very weird. The stocking issue has to due with beer. Ordered a Dos Equis on draft, nope. Which I understand, not many places have it on draft. Dos Equis bottle, nope! Ok, how bout Modelo? Nope! Pacifico? Nope? Any Mexican lager? Nope? 24 tabs, and nothing Mexican. Waiter asked "How about Corona in the bottle?" Sorry just not the same. A buddy and I hit this place up on the way back from a conference in Alabama. We actually had intentions of eating at another place across the way, but they had an hour long wait. We walked in and were greeted & seated quickly. While I did not order any beer I am absolutely positive that this place has a pretty impressive beer menu. I only mention this because I find it surprising that they do not carry any form (fountain w/free refills or bottles) of root beer. When I asked for root beer, our server told me that they have Dr. Pepper...sorry kid, it's not the same thing, not even close. I ordered the buffalo chicken sammich (fried of course, because only knuckleheads order it grilled) with blue cheese dressing. My buddy ordered a French Dip and our food was brought to our table surprisingly fast. My sammich was stacked high with a thick crispy fried chicken breast, lettuce, tomato slice, and some pickles. It was really good, the buffalo sauce was not too hot (even though I am a big fan of the heat) and the chicken breast was moist and juicy, breaded very well too. My buddy said his French Dip was good as well. I understand the need to serve frozen fries, but I just think that so many places would benefit from serving up some fresh cut fries...other than the lack of root beer on the menu, this is my biggest complaint. We ordered online and it took them an hour to make our food when it said it was supposed to be 20. There was no lettuce or sunflower seeds in the quinoa bowl just making it a giant bowl of grains and the taco salad was inedible the beef was heavily burnt and had no seasoning. What as changed, and dramatically changed, are the escalating prices, the smaller servings, and the quality of the drinks. Gone are the things that make a dive bar fun. Stopped here for lunch on a rainy afternoon today. They had no problem handling a group of 5 people. We were seated quickly. The menu offers a nice selection of options. I had the fried catfish in a "meat + 2" plate. It was delicious. Sides: Onion Rings and Cream Corn. The onion rings were good, albeit heavily breaded. The cream corn was FANTASTIC - quite savory. Very well made. My coworker had the "amazing" steak and biscuits. Fries were crunchy on the outside, warm and soft inside. Catfish was light and fluffy. Other coworkers wants to add, five adults eating meals came to under $100 - even with a 20% tip. It is not just yummy but affordable. If I lived here, I would certainly be back often. read more

Great place for casual dining and drinks. Kind of a sports bar vibe but not too loud and obnoxious. The food is good and the staff is friendly. It may take a bit longer wait time for food but since everything is prepared to order it's worth it. Prices are quite reasonable and the drinks are well made. Good country cooking with all the options your heart can desire! A real laid back atmosphere and friendly wait staff. I love old school decor and this place gave me that retro feel with all the antique advertising on the walls from days past. I came for lunch with friends and had meatloaf with greens and green beans. The meatloaf was fantastic, well season and moist. My green beans were flavorful and tasted like my granny used to make them. The greens had that certain pork added taste that is certainly required. To top it off, the sweet tea is exactly what I needed on a hot summer day. Literally the perfect soul food meal. So we showed up on Tuesday night and lo and behold it's Bingo Night! The 40-something in me rolled his eyes while the 8-year-old in me was marking off numbers like he was working out the formula for the perfect gummy bear. The 8-year-old won out on this night. The atmosphere was laid back and clean. There were regulars who obviously were known by name. Just a really cool feel, especially when it doesn't look like much from the outside. As for the food, I had the Southwest Smokehouse burger (don't quote me on the name). Dare I say it was as good or a better burger than a certain porcine-named drinking establishment down the street? The meat was well cooked and seasoned, with just enough condiments to add layers of flavor without leaving half of them on the plate after you're finished. The homemade chips were a little on the greasy side but still delicious. The service was prompt and friendly and the good arrived quickly. We've been to the Corner Pub about a half dozen times over the past few years. The food is average at best, rather hit and miss, but we liked the place for their large selection of cold beers. It's often difficult to find a place with reasonably priced domestic draft these days. Yesterday my wife and I had a meat and 2 and wings. She ordered a draft domestic and I a porter. The wings were excellent, crispy and juicy as they should be. My Catfish was tasty but dry. The only issue I had was when I received the check and saw the price of the porter at more than the cost of my single meal order. It was a good beer but not that good. The issue I had was the fact that the beer prices are not posted anywhere to be found. I understand the selection changes regularly, which is a good thing, but they need to warn customers of the 300% higher beer price of certain selections. I mentioned it to the waitress who was extremely nice but offered no reconciliation other than a smile. read more

About two dozen beers on tap, plus wine and other drinks. Courteous waiter and bartender. Fried Shrimp Basket was just OK (this isn't a "seafood shop") - coating fell off, but it was fried correctly. Steamed Veggies were pretty limp - they appear to have sat for a while. Pit BBQ Sandwich was very good ... tender, moist, flavorful with plenty of smoke; served on toasted bun. Slaw on top - creamy and just the right amount for the sandwich. Turnip Greens were pretty simple (just one of about 13 sides.) Burgers looked really good--cooked to order. Will try one next time I stop by. Worth a visit. Kids' Menu has a nice selection of dishes and it's extra-reasonably priced by today's standards. read more
