Happened upon this place while passing through -- blink and you'll miss it. First impressions from…read morethe parking lot don't say much, but once inside I was greeted with genuine Southern hospitality from who I assume was the owner and his family. They offered me a free glazed donut since it was my first visit, and it was superb -- soft, perfectly glazed, clearly handmade, and not full of air like Krispy Kreme donuts. I asked for recommendations and was pointed to the honey buns since they were out of their other best sellers. I ordered a honey bun and a maple éclair. The honey bun was honestly one of the best I've ever had. The éclair was cream-filled with maple glaze and absolutely delightful. The filling was a little too sweet for my personal taste (I'm not big on super sweet desserts), but that's not a knock on the place. In my opinion, about half the filling with that maple glaze would be perfect -- and adding bacon would take it over the top. They also appear to serve lunch, which looked very appetizing. I was there strictly for donuts this time, but I'll definitely be back to try it if the food is anything like the pastries. All in all, this place is a hidden gem. I highly recommend giving them a try if you're in the area -- you won't be disappointed. It's always great to support local businesses over corporate chains with half the quality. Give these guys a shot.

I got a breakfast burrito, it's delicious and big enough to share. My kids got the biscuits and gravy- a delicious choice as well. The cinnamon rolls are some of the best! I highly recommend. After my experience, I think the statements are a bit exaggerated, although I do give it high marks. The name Grindstone cowboy is a nice play on words. First, they are a coffeeshop with a bar and deli type items, so grindstone fits well with the title. Grindstone Cowboy is a nice play on Rhinestone Cowboy, the song by Glen Campbell in the 1970s. The western feel of the restaurant complements the name. There is also a vintage store attached to the restaurant/bar for those who happen to like a little shopping with their meal. I had the BLT and she had the chicken salad sandwich. I will say I am not a huge fan of chicken salad, but I could eat this one (would not be tops on my list, but I could do it). The BLT was very nice. I added avocado and don't regret that decision. I thought the bread and bacon choice was on point. A heirloom tomato would have popped this up another notch. Overall, enjoyed it. I do feel the pricing is a bit high for a small town diner. Perhaps it is as popular as the social media post suggested? I did pay in cash to avoid the 4% credit card fee. Would I return? I would not go out of my way to get back here, but if I was passing through, I would certainly consider another go if I was in the mood for a sandwich.

The pancakes are huge, with mashed bananas in the batter and a heap of candied walnuts on top. It literally CANNOT be any better. I probably have these pancakes 90% of the time I eat here, because I love them so much. I have had a number of their other breakfasts (All American Breakfast, Chicken fried steak, etc.) and they were great. I am just addicted to the Banana Bread Pancakes. My wife has had many of their other items, and she is always very happy with her selections. I just don't believe there is a bad selection on their entire menu. The owners (Gary and Lorraine (sp?) are extremely friendly, as are the rest of their staff. It is always an enjoyable experience eating there. All in all, this is a great place to go for breakfast or lunch. We probably would go there even more often, but sometimes we think about it too late in the day (they are only open until 2pm).
