AMC Theatres... the largest movie chain in the world! This is one of the nicest locations in Bergen County. It's located on the top floor of Riverside Mall with plenty of parking. It's super clean and modern with an upscale look. It almost feels as if you're in a fancy hotel lobby. They have a full bar and lounge areas with classy furniture. You can purchase tickets/reserve your seat ahead of time online or you can use the self-service kiosks. They have a daily matinee discount for 25% before 4pm. If you're a movie enthusiast and want to save money, consider signing up for their AMC Stubs membership. The concession area has all of your favorite movie snacks, but this location also offers a dine-in experience with more menu options. You can put in a mobile order through the app (before the movie start time) or order at the counter and they'll deliver the food right to your seat. You cannot order on the app during showtime. You have to leave your seat and go back to the counter if you want more. They offer sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, wings, nachos, etc. Nothing fancy, just your typical greasy foods. I've never eaten here, so I can't speak on the quality and value. The theatres have reclining seats, plenty of leg room, and large screens. Since it's a dine-in, they conveniently have a table and cup holder attached to your seat. The audio and visual quality of the movies are on point. They also offer Dolby Cinema and Laser. No IMAX. Never did this before and it's great idea for a night out. I imagine that your taste in cinema has to be in sync, but plenty of restaurants and the theatre is eat in (fast food) that can be brought to your seat. A beer (or more) is available as well as the usual movie munchies. Place was quiet this is but WE did enjoy. read more

This is easily my favorite movie theatre in the area. Unlike the nearby AMC Garden State Plaza, all the theatres inside have the nice plush leather electric recliners. Everything's clean and comfortable. Also unlike the AMC Garden State, the parking is easy and convenient, even on a Saturday night (just go to the top floor of the parking structure in the back). I was surprised to see this only getting like 3 stars on Yelp, but I think the complaints are about the bar and dine-in food? We only get popcorn and Icee, and it's fine for that. If you judge it based on the theater itself, it's just a really nice comfortable place to watch a movie. Personally, I'd eat beforehand at a real restaurant. read more

This is a luxurious place to catch a movie. It's both plush and pristine, with reclining seats and a notable absence of "sticky." As others have noted, this AMC offers full menu service during movies. I can't speak to that, but I can confirm that the traditional popcorn and soda slap just as hard as usual. Watched the movie SINNERS here and it was great. The bathrooms are clean, the food is cooked well, & the seats are comfortable. The Dolby theater they have is amazing with sound and feeling everything. They deliver the food to you which is great. They even fix something if there is a mistake with you food. All in all I will be coming here more often from NY to enjoy the movies. read more

As an AMC A-List member, this review is a bit biased. I have the luxury of ignoring the ticket prices since I can go to up to 3 movies a week at any AMC location. This location is clean. The service is friendly. Parking is easy even though it's located at the mall. I don't think I can really ask for anything more from a movie theater. I guess it'd be nice if they had an IMAX theater but I won't hold that against them. Given it's proximity to my house and overall convenience, this is my go-to theater. read more

Why such low rating?? This theatre is the nicest AMC theatre I have been to and I have been to over 10 locations! It's located inside the Riverside mall which is an upscale mall. It's impeccably clean with nice decor throughout. Unlike some other ones I have been to, this theatre is a perfect medium size with 6 theatres including a Dolby theatre which is what I love. It's also a dine-in theatre which sells smash burgers in addition to regularly food items, and food is brought to you. I wouldn't mind bringing it myself as it can be a bit interrupting during the movie...so get there earlier if you plan to order food. 30% off early showings if you don't have A list membership. This location is now my favorite theatre for sure. Bathroom is clean and spacious. Clorox wipes are available. It's pretty empty if you go for early showtimes so plenty of social distancing. read more

Make sure to read the reviews before visiting this AMC for the first time! My bf and I decided to see Ant Man and chose this theater since the photos looked nice and we were staying at a hotel in the area. Our usual theater is iPIC in Fort Lee but they were sold out of movie showings for the day. When arriving at this location, it's part of the mall so to get where the entrance of AMC is you can follow the signs to upper level parking. Just note, if you're visiting on a Sunday you may not be able to enter through the mall because of Bergen County's blue law so parking on the upper level is ideal. NOW, if you think it's a normal food ordering process it's not. I thought I could order ahead and pick it up or order from my seat but it's not that easy. You CAN order ahead on the app BUT you have to choose a time. Our movie started at 1:15pm and the only times they had available were 1:15 and 1:25. So you can order through the app, choose a time and they'll deliver it to you at your seat but that option is only available at the times they have on the app. I decided to wait until we got there to order in person so I can just grab and go but the line was ridiculously long so we just walked to our seats. 20 minutes go by and my boyfriend went back to order food. The line was still somewhat long but he's a trooper, he stayed since he knew I was HANGRY haha. 15 minutes pass by and I see him come back with no food so I was super confused. He said he ordered it but they deliver it to your seat. I really wish they would implement a way to order from the app during showtime instead of having to leave while the movie is playing. I mean, yes other theaters you have to get up and order but they advertise it in a way where you think you can sit, order and get it delivered right to your seat no matter the time. I did like their food options! Flatbreads, burgers, chicken strips... they even had plant-based and vegan options. I ordered pretzel bites which came with melted cheese and honey mustard along with fries. They were hefty portions too and come in to go boxes. The seats were comfy and recline back. They also have a small table for you to eat on. Now I know to order ahead on the app before the available times expire. Yes, the theater is nice, clean, and comfortable. However, advertisements state you can walk in, sit and get comfortable, then order food right from your seat to be delivered to your seat. Not true. It doesn't make sense to buy tickets through the AMC app, scan your phone with the electronic ticket upon arriving at the theater, and then having to wait on a line to place an order. You can't just go to your seat and order like the app states! I even asked a staff member who confirmed to cannot order from your seat/on the app. You have to physically wait on the concession/ food order line. This defeats the purpose. But, I tried it anyway! I was going to add to my order I physically placed at the counter. It worked up until the app asked me to enter a time I wanted the food delivered to my seat (nice touch it were true). It would not allow me to pick a time so it could not proceed with the order. The app locked up. Very dissatisfied and these tickets are not cheap. read more

I am not sure what is the point of being a premier AMC member, AMC is supposed to have a dedicated line for services. Well Hackensack has a line but you don't get special services. The manager Jonathan thought it was ok to take three families in the regular line before the three families in the premier line!!! When there were more than one line open. Great movie theater with a lounge relaxed atmosphere. Definitely breaks the mold on the movie theaters we grew up with. You see more and more of these experiences popping up everywhere and this is first for a national chain. They have one Dolby screen and no IMAX. The other screens available are still bigger then other theaters and feels immersive. The seats are super comfortable, All leather recliners. The food needs some work. It's all good but just a bit salty. Their dry rub wings are great. I would just go for that. Their lounge bar area is beautiful. Super classy with beautiful chairs and lighting. They carry a fun cocktail menu and delicious craft beer selection. They do advance ticket sales and kiosk located outside to avoid lines and headaches. They charge a $1 service fee when ordering food because they deliver the food right to your seat. Not complaining about that because service is fast and great. Everyone is nice and polite. Just a heads up if you were wondering about that charge. read more

PROS: This place is a very upscale AMC compared to all others. They have a nice staff, the place is clean, they show all the latest movies, they have a bar, a fantasy atmosphere, and they can bring the food to your theatre. All seats are recliners unlike other AMCs where only some theaters have them CONS: Parking is a pain for this theatre cause believe it or not the amount of cars that park for the Cheesecake factory make it very bad. Also when it's night it's tough to get into the mall cause all the doors are locked. The theatre itself is very small and only has a few screens unlike the GSP AMC. OVERALL: If it was a date, or maybe I just wanted to feel a little more upper class I would come here but my go-to is GSP AMC instead read more

The location is nice and calm; the inside of the mall is easy on the eyes. The mall only has more high end stores. I enjoyed the movie theater, but I expected the food to be FRESH. The burger was not a fresh burger. It is your typical frozen patty, for the time being it was okay... The chicken tenders and fries were okay. If you want to play it safe always go with chicken tenders. The sprite that was brought to us was actually disgusting and tasted like dirty water. I had to get up and go change it. I did enjoy the drinks... The bartender definitely knows what he is doing! The "Henny Berry bramble" was delicious! Also, the movie screen had a black smudge on it. Would I comeback? Maybe not... Riverside's AMC is borderline 3-4stars. I would give it 3 stars for their food, but gave it 4 for their fair prices (food, tickets), seating, service and screening. So far, their Bacon Ranch and Royal Burgers were not very tasteful, and I would not recommend them. My cousin was not at all impressed by their Bacon Ranch Burger, not that she was looking to rate them... And their Royal Burger was too sweet and crunchy for my taste, and left me throwing up a bit of grease by the time I got home (though, maybe it was the Brussels sprouts that were really greasy; maybe both). The buns were decent, but the patties were distasteful. I was curious about the brie, baby arugula and fig jam combination of the Royal Burger, but the jam, royal sauce, applewood-smoked bacon overpowered the burger. You would have to chew extra well with all the bacon. Perhaps an avid bacon-lover might like this burger more, though it is sweet. All burgers have a choice of side (french fries, onion rings, chips or crispy bacon Brussels sprouts), totaling to about $14.99. However, seated next to me were a few of my friends who enjoyed their Caprese Flatbread Pizza. Maybe I'll try that next time. ------------------------ Flatbreads tasted like school pizzas. Preferred pepperoni over Caprese (tomato was too strong in flavor and overtook the pizza). Wings were okay; probably your best bet in ordering food. read more

The best one ever! Why for the life of me all AMC theatres are not like this one. It was super comfortable inside. It's called on the website/App a Dine-In movie theater. It was awesome. We went to see The Beast! It was a great movie and the surrounding sound was amazing and made the experience awesome. The chairs had an attached tray like table with cup holder attached to it. The seats were electric lounge chairs with a lil wear and tear, but nothing to crazy where you would be uncomfortable. Each section of seats are separated and are in individual rows so you don't see anyone in front of you or in back of you unless you are standing up in the theater. At the end of the movie the staff immediately leaves a grabage can so you can take and throw out your garage when you exit. My movie room had one way entrance/exit and one for an emergency exit only. It would really be nice if they made all of the theaters this way and maybe more people would visit. My local AMC is a good spot to, but just doesn't compare to this one. I would definitely like to give this place another visit if I'm in New Jersey. Thumbs up for me! read more

My 4 year old daughter and I went to this location at the beginning of the summer to watch Toy Story 4, with some of her friends. We went early in the day, I believe at like 11am. The theater is beautiful, and was very clean. The seats were very comfortable. A friend in our party purchased all of our tickets online the day before. The only negative is that the snack stand is pricey, as are movie snacks everywhere these days... I can't wait to have the opportunity to go to this location to enjoy an adult only date night. read more

Really clean movie theater and the staff was nice but forget about the "dine-in" experience. My family and I have been here 3 times just out of desperation. It's worth the pre arranged seating to tell you the truth. The other AMC theaters however, blow it away. You just can't order beverages or food once you get into your seat. Plus I feel the pre-order food isn't as good as some of the other dine-in locations. I'm still giving it 3 stars because who wants to be looking for a seat sometimes, especially with a group. Was pleasantly surprised by this theater especially since I had no idea that there was a dine-in here. Booking tickets online was fast and easy, and the up charge for dine-in was not that bad. The theater itself was very clean, the recliners were comfortable, and seats were not "coupled off" as many other theaters do. I do recommend giving yourself plenty of time before the movie as this is not a traditional dine-in. You order food and drinks before the movie and then they bring it to you before the movie starts. Portions aren't giant, but I was happy with the nachos I ordered. Overall, I would definitely go back. read more

I'm a fan of this theater mainly because I've always had a good experience (fortunately I didn't see any reported rodents here, yet) and love the generally comfortable seats and pleasant ambiance. Even though the iPic experience is still more cush, the price is also WAY more expensive than the more reasonable levels here. Also it's nice that they have matinee prices and of course being a Stubs member gives me some additional incentive to see a movie here. The food is fine. I never had any issues with the burgers, chicken tenders or other snacks I ordered here. The only thing is if they forget something like a condiment or sauce with your dish and you ask them to get some for you, it either takes forever or it just doesn't come at all. They need to improve the service on this end IMO (iPic does a WAY better on this front). Either way, if you're looking to grab food and a movie, this isn't a bad choice. read more

Awesome theater!!! There's a bar inside (near the entrance/exit of the theater). You can bring your drink to theater and drink it while watching the movie. The food you order gets delivered to your seat. However, snacks and drinks you take with you. I love the reclining seats and the attached tray for your drink and food! So cozy! Feels like you're at home, but with a HUGE screen . Very clean theater!!! Employees are friendly, too. Great atmosphere! I was excited when AMC came to this mall. read more
