I had a full acrylic set done by Joann on June 25th for an upcoming event. Within two days, three nails broke, forcing me to return before the event for emergency repairs. Unfortunately, that wasn't the end. In less than 2 weeks, six nails in total broke, with two causing bleeding injuries--the last one happened while I was just doing laundry. Despite this, the salon refused to offer a proper resolution. I was told it was "normal wear," and the technician couldn't be held responsible. Instead of a refund or complimentary correction, I was offered 10-25% off and a sugar scrub, after spending over $100 plus Uber rides to fix their repeated mistakes. This is not just a complaint about one broken nail--this is about being injured twice, returning multiple times, and then being told it's not their responsibility. The service was rushed, the application lacked durability, and the salon ultimately dismissed my concerns. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Ohio State Cosmetology Board. Pretty bad services. I get my nails and toes done monthly and this was the worst pedicure I've had. I had to ask him to file my toenails and not just cut them and leave them jagged. His nail dig into my toes when he was painting them and it was actually painful. The massage and lotion was lackluster and was even washed off...my mom said her pedicure was okay, not worth the dulux pricing. Angela was the worst nail technician that I have ever encountered. I came in for a gel polish change, and she kept trying to insist that I needed a fill-in, which I just had exactly one week ago. I always get my nails square rounded, but she filed them down to where they were square and rough around the edges and when I corrected her, she had an attitude about it. I was done in 15 minutes because she wanted to rush through it so she could move onto the next customer waiting. I always tip regardless of the service, however, today I left nothing more than the $32 that I paid for my gel polish change. My poor sister practically had her toes filed off (slight exaggeration) and then had her calf slapped (no exaggeration) as an indication to go back into the water. As someone who likes to give the benefit of the doubt- the customer service at this establishment is absolutely unacceptable! The first time we came a couple weeks ago, my mom had a poorly done pedicure. when asked to fix the chipped polish, the technician told my mom that it's her fault for having such short toenails and that she refused to fix it. My sister-in-law's technician used the wrong color on her nails: when asked if she could get the color she requested, she rolled their her eyes, said the color she used was "way prettier anyway" and told her that it wasn't her fault that her coworker gave her the wrong color, so no. Today was our second time getting pedicures at this location, and our experience was baffling. my mom's technician used a drill to remove her regular nail polish and tore her cuticles up to the point of light bleeding. Her technician began speaking to my technician in a different language while pointing to my mom's feet. After confronting her that she was talking about my mom, she agreed with a smirk that she made the suspected rude comments about my mom. THE CHERRY ON TOP OF THIS EXPERIENCE: her technician was using the scrub sponge on my mom's feet, DROPPED IT ON THE FLOOR, PICKED IT UP, AND CONTINUED USING IT ON HER FEET! I have never seen such unsanitary practices especially in front of a customer! I would avoid Mai, unless you want a floor sponge used on your nails. read more

Please don't trash talk clients (or do so in a less obvious way) My pedicure with Tom started off well. Then, we transitioned over to the desks so we could start my gel removal and manicure. The first odd thing to occur was that I was asked to pay for my services before they even started my manicure. I was asked to fish out my card (one handed as I still had tin foil on my fingers-tips, mind you.) I was also asked to sign the receipt (still with tin on!) in this way. Odd. But willing to let it go it as I knew they were getting ready to close up shop. A few minutes later, I pointed out to Tom that he did not remove all the gel off of my nail before starting my manicure. He reassured me that he would file it off. I self deprecatingly said "I'm sorry if I'm being picky, these are my bridal shower nails!" To which he muttered something under his breath in his native language and the two nail technicians next to him started laughing. This obviously made me feel uncomfortable and insecure as I wondered if they were making fun of me in a language I didn't speak or understand. Just when I thought I was overthinking and that they probably weren't even discussing me, one of the female technicians walked over to our station, looked down at my hands (literally bent down and leaned in to look at them) and started laughing. Worse nail salon ever! I have been getting my nails done for 20 years and I've never been this unhappy. I had an appointment and they still made me wait 40 minutes. Then the technician cut them way too short and they were all different lengths and shapes. I asked her to please fix the shape (which i later found out, they charged me a "shaping fee") and she seemed to make it worse. Then when she was using the sponge to scrub my feet, she dropped it on the floor and then picked up and went straight back to my feet with the same scrub sponge (did not rinse off or anything). Also, she used the drill to remove my nail polish and kept hurting me. I only had a small amount of polish on one toe and could easily be removed with acetone- I did not have on gel polish. Painful and unacceptable. Never spoke to me just talked about me to the other tech. Read other reviews about MIA- not so good! My daughter was with me and the cute tech did good on her pedicure- but it was all ruined due to the RUDENESS of MAI. Worse customer service ever! New to Ohio, I drove in from Illinois and I chose this place due to the reviews and seemed ok. I saw pricing online and says gel manicure $40 and extra if I wanted a master tech ?? At any rate, I did not ask for anything special. I saw that basic pedicure is $33. I got Thuy as my tech and not sure if she's a master or what and she didn't say. When she finished painting my nails I simply asked do you not massage the hands after? At my usual spot, it's all included. She said oh, you want a massage? And began with applying lotion. I'm happy with my service, however, NOT the price. I usually pay no more than $60 for my mani/pedi (including hand massage) and my bill was $96!!! Shocked, I asked to explain the charges and she said $45 for the manicure, $35 for the pedicure and the massage was additional $12 plus taxes. I will NEVER go back to this place and felt I was over charged. Had I known the massage was going to cost me extra, I would have never asked about it. I went back and looked at the prices and it says additional massage so I thought it was only if I wanted a second massage. Plus it was not even 10 minutes. You guys got me this time on pricing, but never again and I would advise anyone who is new from out of town to find another salon. If you chose to go here due to location, make sure they advise you of the cost prior to your service. read more

The tech was using her fingernails to get excess polish off the sides which left a very inconsistent and poor job. After having a terrible experience at AMBIANCE VOA, I decided to try AMBIANCE in MASON/DEERFIELD. I told them about what happened at VOA and I explained I had a foot injury and was on a cane. Madison ( the reception gal) was able to work me in with NO NOTICE. and worked to assist me in every way possible. Tara the nail tech was great and helpful as well. I was really impressed with the attitude and positiveness which they expressed with my medical issues I can't thank them enough for making the experience there a good one. Every time I visit this Ambiance location, I ask myself why on earth did I come here again? I book manicure appointments and they are consistently 20 minutes behind appointment schedule. If I do walk-in pedicure it's a 30+ minute wait. Today- I was hosted 26 minutes behind my manicure appointment time, and I was 5 minutes early. Honestly the service offering isn't any better than other area locations and neither is their pricing. I guess if your going to an Ambiance Nails - I recommend the Harpers Point or Liberty locations. The reception desk answered with a warm friendly and easy to understand greeting. She listened to our not well defined needs and suggested the appropriate services. Then she booked us for later that afternoon. When we arrived we were greeted again with warmth and friendliness and escorted to our clean and new massage chairs. I did not enjoy my experience at this salon. I usually go to the Oasis nail salon off of Tylerville road, but for convenience I decided to go here. The girl at the front desk was sitting on the counter hopped off when I came in. Then I didn't wait long till I was helped and was told to pick a color. With this process I felt very rushed. Which then throughout the whole process I felt rushed! Usually at the other nail salon they dip my nail at least 4 times this place they only dipped one and applied the rest of the polish very sloppy!
