Best coffee in downtown Somerville! Ambee's coffee is consistently excellent, and they make a cappuccino the way it should be. Perfectly balanced and not too much milk. It's one of those places where you know exactly what you're going to get every time, and the quality never disappoints. Their baked goods are also delicious. They have some of the best gluten-free cookies I've found at a coffee shop. I also tried the gluten-free scone--it was good, though I'd definitely recommend having it warmed up. The cookies are still my favorite GF option. The café itself is cute, modern, and thoughtfully designed. It has a fun, trendy atmosphere, although it can get pretty busy and loud during peak hours, so it isn't always the ideal place if you're looking for a quiet spot to work. I also have to give credit to their branding and marketing. Their social media is genuinely some of the best I've seen from a local business. The photography, videos, and product launches are always beautifully done, and even the coffee cup design is stylish and instantly recognizable. It's clear they put a lot of thought into every aspect of the customer experience. I've also been to their Warren location, which is just as good. It feels a bit larger and more spacious while maintaining the same great coffee and welcoming vibe. I've heard they're opening a location in Flemington, and I'm so excited! If it's anything like their Somerville and Warren cafés, it'll be a fantastic addition to the area.
Cute cafe that offers a lot of space to be able to do some work. Street parking can be tough but it's super close to the public parking lot off the main road. Cafe does get super busy & seating can be limited depending on the time you go especially during lunch time. Drinks were good & the pastry we tried was great!
Great place, staff super friendly. Not just your ordinary coffee joint they have wellness drinks to support your body. I tried their tumeric infused Golden Latte and collagen Blushing Beet Latte, they were both delicious. I think I liked the blushing beet latte the most which surprised me being huge tumeric fan! Their baked goods are baked in their Warren store and brought over daily. Place is bright and clean. Has WiFi and ample seating to be able to work, meet friends or just chill

What a cute neighborhood!! Was walking around on a nice sunny winter morning and decided to stop in. I loved the layout of this coffee shop, there was a lot of tables and a communal sitting table down the middle of the shop. I got a hot white mocha ube latte with almond milk and it was delicious! I love ube. Ube is a flavor that I never see at coffee shops near me. They also have a nice selection of baked goods. I didn't try any of those as I had already had breakfast and just came for a drink. I definitely will be going back to try another drink and a baked good next time!
Ambee Coffee was so delicious that I had to go back multiple days in a row. From the pastries to the coffee, to the service and the overall ambiance, the whole experience was perfect. Both the vanilla latte and Nutella latte were a favorite of mine. The monkey bread warmed up was delicious, gooey, and moist and the croissant practically melted in your mouth. The coffee cake was also a highlight the second day. The prices were fair and all the pastries looked delectable. Located in a cute, small town, it was perfect to reach by foot. It also looked like they had open mic night and carried other healthy brands and snacks, like protein bars.
Whenever I'm feeling peckish, this is my go to for a nibble and a drink. The service is fast and the baristas are always helpful if you're not sure what to get. For me, I don't enjoy a beverage too sweet so they adjust the syrup level. I noticed outlets for those who need to work on their laptops. I also found little vases with a few flowers or little tchotchkes throughout the cafe. It's the little things that adds up for beautiful and serene vibe. On certain nights, they do have open-mic so sign up and have some fun!
All I have to say is YUMMMM. I visited Ambee for the first time with a coworker yesterday and was immediately impressed with the ambiance of the shop. It's clean, cozy, and the service is wonderful! I went with the iced blushing beet latte and loved it so much, I went back today and got a large lolll. 10/10 recommend. I will absolutely be back!
This location is sooo cute! There is ample seating. A long table with plenty chairs in the middle, and window bar seating ant a few smaller tables. The atmosphere and chill and very zen.You'll see people working, on their laptop, or reading a book. The bakery items look delicious and are very good. I got their everything bagel, but it's more like whole grain to me but it was tasty! I got the banana bread latte and it is also soo good. I love banana or s'mores anything and everything. This coffee shop is honestly in my top 3! who doesn't want fresh grinded almond milk?
While in Somerville for a yelp drop in event we passed Ambee coffee and I immediately wanted to go in. I just started getting into lattes (I've never been a coffee drinker) so trying new cafes has been a fun experience lately. It's funny that i had a latte in mind, because I opted for the Blushing Beet from their Wellness Menu. I was intrigued by the combination of flavors- honey, lavendar and oatmilk. It sounded up my alley, aside from the beet, so I asked the barista about it and she was so helpful and friendly. So I ordered the pretty pink wellness drink and my husband ordered a latte. Both were amazing and actually quite unique. It's a very understated and hip vibe here. Despite being full of people it was pretty quiet and seems like a nice option for working remote when you need a change of scenery.
In December, I got the chance to participate in a Yelp Elite Experience included December for the Ambee Coffee Co location in Warren. That experience wasn't my favorite, but I figured I'd give the Somerville location a try. This location definitely looks and feels smaller than the one in Warren. However, the staff here were way nicer. One reason why I wanted to give Ambee Coffee another try is because I don't drink coffee. Funny, right? The thing I like about Ambee Coffee is that they have several options for us non-coffee drinkers. They even include non-coffee options in their seasonal drink menus. Another reason why I like Ambee Coffee is because they use a lot of organic and healthier ingredients in their drinks and food. During this visit, I got their spring seasonal drink, a blueberry matcha. I loved the pretty presentation of it with its layers of color. The drink was good. It wasn't super sweet and it was just the pick-me-up that I needed. Overall, I give 4.5 stars, but rounded it up to 5.

I have been to Ambee several times. The staff is friendly enough. The baked goods are usually pretty good and the drinks are typically on point. The interior is always clean and the general vibe is relaxed.
TLDR - aesthetic modern decor, good strong cold brew, plenty of seating, ac on a bit too high for me I love a cute coffee place so I decided to check out Lucid coffee on a rainy day. Environment: - friendly staff Plenty of seating and large table spaces! - lovely plants scattered throughout - Would be a great study spot or larger hangout spot - can get a bit loud if the place is crowded - ac was on a bit high when I went Food/ drinks: - they have your standard coffee staples with a few special teas and latte flavors - cold brew and nitro cold brew are on tap!! The best place for coffee and homemade pastries in Somerville! Ambee Coffee Co. (formerly known as Lucid Coffee Co.) is a purveyor of organic artisan-quality hot or iced beverages and baked goods that provides a terrific independently-minded alternative in downtown Somerville to Starbucks' corporate siren. The modern aesthetic of the Somerville location is warm and welcoming, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, friendly and knowledgeable staff that are happy to offer their recommendations without sounding pretentious, and free WiFi for those who need to get some work done or seek a temporary distraction from those around them. Ambee also provides an intimate venue for local musicians to perform, with an acoustic guitarist playing an eclectic mix of covers and original modern rock on a Sunday afternoon when a friend and I stopped in for a coffee. The taste and quality of the beverages - including a variety of coffees from mundane drip coffees to more complex, perfectly executed creations of -cinos and lattes that are available with dairy milk or non-dairy milk alternatives - and the cozy yet modern ambiance do come at a price, which are somewhat higher than the other purveyors of the elixir of the gods in the area, but it's worth it to me (as it should be to you). I enjoyed a London Fog ($6), a tea-based drink made with earl grey tea and oat milk and jasmine, that was very tasty and served hot. PRO TIP: Ambee Coffee doesn't have a private parking lot, but there is plenty of on-street metered parking and parking in the municipal parking lots off Main Street. Bring change or use your credit card for the meters ($1/hour) before 7pm Monday through Saturday. read more

What an adorable health conscious coffee shop in cute little Somerville! The cashier is so sweet and friendly and the barista is truly an expert in his craft. I ordered a cappuccino with a bit of brown sugar syrup, not too hot and it was absolute perfection. Went here two days in a row! I highly recommend this place if you are ever in the area. Love this coffee shop in downtown Somerville. It located in a downtown but street parking is pretty convenient and it doesn't get too busy on weekdays. I come here to study and do work because they have several desks and tables with outlets. They have a really nice and peaceful ambiance. The barista is always super friendly and the service is usually quick. I've gotten their ube maple latte twice now and it is so good!! It was a really pleasant ube flavor that compliments the espresso well. I definitely am looking forward to trying more of their seasonal items and their regular items. I did try their matcha latte around 2 years ago and really did not like it but my friends really like their other coffee drinks. Definitely check it out if you're in the Somerville area! read more

Lucid Coffee posted a message on Instagram showing a Guinness Chocolate donut. I think I saw this at 9pm and I almost couldn't sleep, but set my alarm for 8 (they open at 9 on weekends 7 weekdays). I got up this morning and opened the store. First of all, I've always loved this local coffee spot. It's fun & inviting, their coffees put Starbucks to shame. I'm thankful this small business was able to manage the age of covid. Right now I'm sipping a large dark house drip. I breathed in the best croissant I've ever had in my 57 years and only a quarter of the Guinness Chocolate donut remains. I'm so glad I came in. Can't wait for warm weather and the return of local music in Lucid Coffee in Somerville New Jersey. If you don't live here it's worth the trip read more

Really cute coffee shop in downtown Somerville. They have a good selection of drinks to pick from. I got an iced lavender latte and really enjoyed it. The lavender wasn't overpowering. This place hits all the right notes for a what's coffee shop should bring. A delightful space, friendly staff, a tidy menu, and good coffee. Bonus points for live music on weekends and a really sweet corner location on Somerville's main street. Plenty of seats to stay and work a while, too. read more

Met a friend here for coffee and had a great time. The atmosphere inside was super chill and just gorgeous. There was also seating outside (which we opted for with the nice weather). It is clear Lucid cares about good coffee. Their menu is simple but there are plenty of ways to customize your drink with milk options and house-made syrup. The two baristas working were super friendly and my order was ready really soon. The space also had a small stage, but this was not being used when we visited. As for parking, there is metered street parking right outside and along the whole street. There are also a few parking lots but these would be a slight walk. Ordered: iced harvest spice latte with oat milk and vegan strawberry donut. read more
Got the chance to try out lucid coffee at a local farmers market today. Got the coconut cold brew. Really liked it. Nice smooth cold brew and the coconut milk flavor was def present but not overpowering. A little on the pricey side coming in at $6 but would buy again. A very cute, aesthetically wholesome coffee spot that is a must try! The quality of their coffee and espresso is excellent. The oat milk latte I had was extremely smooth and I can't wait to come back. The interior has a good amount of seating (even during covid times) and nicely decorated. Still an amazing cafe and by far my favorite! I probably go here way too often -- once or twice per week! If I lived much closer or actually at Somerville I would be there every single day! Along with my usual iced matcha latte (now that the sun is out and it's 80+ degrees outside), I also picked up a brown butter chocolate chip cookie -- which is a local flavor! The best part is they offer to heat it up for you and when you take a bite it's as if it came straight out of an oven! Brown butter really elevates a cookie and makes it so much tastier!! This place is always very clean and comfortable to be at, whether coming to meet a friend, study, or just grab a cup of coffee. I have frequently enjoyed this coffee spot, but most recently I was able to get a vegan peanut butter cookie (pictured) which the barista kindly warmed up for me! It was a perfect treat to go along with my cold brew, which was delicious. This place has awesome vibes and such cute decor on the inside. It was nice to also enjoy outdoor seating during covid, and I felt very safe and comfortable at this spot. Will definitely be returning soon! read more
The coolest local coffee shop around. The staff is knowledgeable, always willing to make recommendations and their coffee is high quality. Their unique coffee offerings is what originally drew me in but the quality of their cold brew and hot cup is what got me to stay. Cheech's has been there for us during quarantine by offering delivery of our favorite ground options and have even offered a MDW sale to encourage us to stock up again! Cheech's has the benefit of being right on the corner of Division Street and has plenty comfortable outdoor seating available. I love parking down on Main Street, grabbing a nice cold brew with oat milk and just enjoying a sunny day in their seating area. Having my latte here after lunch with family. Clean and neat coffee shop in a good location, downtown Somerville. They serve 100% organic coffees and teas. Servings and price is same as Starbucks. Items with asterisks in their menu board are not available while I'm writing this review. Baristas and servers are courteous and helpful. You need to go to the counter to find out their WiFi password. It's not posted in their walls. They make and sell their own brand of cold brew, retail or wholesale. Cheech's Own is a welcomed addition to the up and coming downtown Somerville. Located on the corner of Main Street and Division Street, this trendy coffee shop serves up some really good beverages. On the menu are classics (drip, french press, pourover), espresso (americano, capachino, latte, macchiato), teas (classic, matcha latte, chai latte), specialties(mocktails with coffee), on tap (cold brew, nitro cold brew, kombucha) and sweet treats (cookies, baked pastries, vegan treats). Entering the coffee shop, you're met with a warm trendy establishment furnished with wooden table tops and seating surfaces perched upon metal frames, resting atop a patterned tile floor, brightly lighted with natural light from the large ceiling to floor windows and overhead Edison bulbs and audible tunes that can heard but as to not interfere with one's onus. On the right, a long farm table sits centered between the counter and individual tables and on the left are counter seating and a stage-setup provisioned for live performances. For this visit, the Lady and I ordered a seasonal drip coffee (single origin honduran) and a latte. Both were very good. The drip extraction yielded typical tasting notes associated with a single origin honduran and the latte, with messy art, was smooth and creamy. I'm a fan and will definitely return for great coffee and a great atmosphere. Notes: * Metered Street Parking. Very cute, trendy cafe! I've walked by multiple times but only recently decided to stop by. The Continental (cold brew and orange juice) is such an interesting concept that I had to try it. The verdict? I really did not enjoy it as much as I had wanted to. I was hoping the OJ would bring some sweetness to the coffee and an aromatic hint of orange (the same as you'd find in chocolates with hints of orange). Instead, the taste of orange concentrate mixed with the bitter cold brew resulted in a bland flavor that left me very confused. It tasted very diluted and not satisfying at all. I had a few sips of my friends Americano and I can tell that the Continental is not representative of the kind of quality coffee they serve here. I'm eager to come back sometime and try the other drinks on the menu! read more
