WHEN: Sunday, 5/15/22 Cute modern coffee shop that gives me strong California vibes. Had a very quick stop here after passing by the city on the way to the Newark Airport. I originally told my sister I would treat her to coffee but after ordering my drink and seeing it come out to $7 I told her we were sharing lol. I think the cookie was a Salted Caramel Chocolate cookie that didn't taste like caramel at all. Just very muted chocolate. The texture of the cookie wasn't the best either, slightly too hard. Overall, a 3/5 from my quick perspective. But then again I only ordered 2 things here and was inside for about 10 minutes only so take my review with a grain of salt. read more

Amazing local spot that feels like so much more. I've been coming here for years to get my decaf oat milk lattes and matcha, the best in town. Excellent selection of baked goods with gluten free or vegan options in addition to all the highest quality organic coffee options. Service is always friendly, inclusive, and very accommodating. Love this coffee shop in downtown Somerville. It located in a downtown but street parking is pretty convenient and it doesn't get too busy on weekdays. I come here to study and do work because they have several desks and tables with outlets. They have a really nice and peaceful ambiance. The barista is always super friendly and the service is usually quick. I've gotten their ube maple latte twice now and it is so good!! It was a really pleasant ube flavor that compliments the espresso well. I definitely am looking forward to trying more of their seasonal items and their regular items. I did try their matcha latte around 2 years ago and really did not like it but my friends really like their other coffee drinks. Definitely check it out if you're in the Somerville area! read more

I was a bit disappointed with Ambee's Somerville location. I decided to grab some afternoon coffee with my friend and wanted to go to Ambee. The people who were working weren't very open or welcoming which is a lot different than the experience I have when I go to the Raritan location. I ordered the Coconut Ube latte with oat milk. I got the drink really quickly which was nice, but when I tasted it I was a little disappointed. The latte didn't really taste like ube or the coconut condensed milk, it kind of tasted like regular coffee that had been watered down. While it is convenient to have multiple locations of Ambee in the area, I think I'll stick with going to the Raritan location. read more

Lucid Coffee posted a message on Instagram showing a Guinness Chocolate donut. I think I saw this at 9pm and I almost couldn't sleep, but set my alarm for 8 (they open at 9 on weekends 7 weekdays). I got up this morning and opened the store. First of all, I've always loved this local coffee spot. It's fun & inviting, their coffees put Starbucks to shame. I'm thankful this small business was able to manage the age of covid. Right now I'm sipping a large dark house drip. I breathed in the best croissant I've ever had in my 57 years and only a quarter of the Guinness Chocolate donut remains. I'm so glad I came in. New name, same good stuff. The shop is beautiful inside with an array of seating options. Coffee is excellent and the pastries really go the extra mile. I make most of my coffee at home, but came here Saturday and Sunday as a treat. "Everything bagel" croissants are so good - the crispy, flaky pastry combined with all the toppings you love is *chef's kiss.* We also enjoyed the almond croissant, chili cheese palmier, and cheddar scallion scone. The palmier and croissants were exceptional; the scone was a little dense and bisuity. I did try a lavender cold brew on one of my visits and it was overpowering. More "grandma purse" than "hint of flower." Make sure to taste before you walk out the door! read more

A new favorite coffee shop in Somerville! Came here one Friday for a change of scenery and needed to get a good amount of work done. I always do a little research before planning on hunkering down with my laptop to make sure the cafe is good for that. I don't want to pull out my laptop or need to make a call somewhere where it would be rude to do so. Luckily, I was met with table after table of laptop-er. And outlets! So many outlets! I got a coffee and a bottle of water and got a seat at the high top bar in the center and got to work. Coffee was good and strong and piping hot, I got a large americano that hit the spot. I did notice they have a ton of delicious sounding teas that I'll need to try on my next visit. Cannot wait to stop back in! I forgot to mention how cute this place is. It's cozy but not to jammed with tables that you can't move and keep bumping into people. And the wifi, like the coffee, is strong! Hence all of the laptop-ers. This just may be a frequent rotation when I need a new office for a few hours. read more

Went to do work at a coffee shop and found this place. It has many seating options for groups. It was a casual cafe with families and even people on dates stopping in. Servers were very nice and accommodating. There is a stage for live music nights. It's clear that they do coffee well. I tried the maple ube and it was delicious. They had milk alternatives as well. It is pricier than Starbucks but fair for organic coffee. My one issue was with the gnats. There were gnats on the bathroom ceiling and my friend opted to go next door for their bathroom. I also noticed that they pull the cookies and treats from a display-like case and in the light I saw a gnat get in that case. (Which is unfortunate because the chocolate banana vegan cookie was very good.)I would just double check the case before ordering a bakery item. read more

Right in downtown Somerville, Ambee seems to be the clear cut favorite coffee spot for most people in the area. A lot of quality coffee choices with interesting options like pistachio milk, and various pastries that look fantastic. Not exactly a quiet, get work done/study kind of place as others have mentioned, but great if you are looking for a more social coffee spot Cool that they support a lot of local musicians as I see a lot of open mic nights, along with other various events that they host. read more

came here after lunch with my friends for post lunch coffee. the interior is very cozy which i liked with both private seating and a long table open seating. there even was a tarot reading section in the corner of the cafe which was unique to see (don't know if she's hired by the cafe or if she's doing it on her own). the staff were super sweet and the menu has creative drink options. i got the pistachio & ube drinks. the drinks took a bit to come out but it was fine since we were chatting while we were waiting. the drinks were a little disappointing as the flavors weren't really "powerful" and tasted a bit dull; but that's not why this place gets a 2 star. i would have given it a 3 star-maybe even 4 if it were not for the entertainment. we came here saturday (11/23) and honestly i love that they're supporting "local artists" but this particular guitarist/vocalist was not it... to say it nicely. unfortunately it was to the point that my group couldn't enjoy our time and left and spent the rest of our time in the outside seating area (which was not even open). i'm open to trying this place out again as my friends have been here before and they said that without a performer the ambiance is a lot better but until then, it's a hard no for me. read more

Very cute, picturesque coffee shop in the center of downtown. If I lived nearby, I could see myself coming here often. They have the typical café drinks, plus fresh kombucha and fresh juice and other healthy drinks. And, it seems like they have baked goods, which also have vegan and gluten free options. The staff and barista were friendly and patiently answered any questions I had. She also gave us great suggestions for my indecisive friend. And, it seems like they put a lot of care into each drink they serve and the latte I ordered was perfect. It seems to be a great place to meet friends or even a date, work or study, or even to have a moment to yourself. My friend and I really liked the interior and took a lot of nice pictures there, too. Met a friend here for coffee and had a great time. The atmosphere inside was super chill and just gorgeous. There was also seating outside (which we opted for with the nice weather). It is clear Lucid cares about good coffee. Their menu is simple but there are plenty of ways to customize your drink with milk options and house-made syrup. The two baristas working were super friendly and my order was ready really soon. The space also had a small stage, but this was not being used when we visited. As for parking, there is metered street parking right outside and along the whole street. There are also a few parking lots but these would be a slight walk. Got the chance to try out lucid coffee at a local farmers market today. Got the coconut cold brew. Really liked it. Nice smooth cold brew and the coconut milk flavor was def present but not overpowering. A little on the pricey side coming in at $6 but would buy again. This place is always very clean and comfortable to be at, whether coming to meet a friend, study, or just grab a cup of coffee. I have frequently enjoyed this coffee spot, but most recently I was able to get a vegan peanut butter cookie (pictured) which the barista kindly warmed up for me! It was a perfect treat to go along with my cold brew, which was delicious. This place has awesome vibes and such cute decor on the inside. The coolest local coffee shop around. The staff is knowledgeable, always willing to make recommendations and their coffee is high quality. Their unique coffee offerings is what originally drew me in but the quality of their cold brew and hot cup is what got me to stay. Cheech's has been there for us during quarantine by offering delivery of our favorite ground options and have even offered a MDW sale to encourage us to stock up again! Cheech's has the benefit of being right on the corner of Division Street and has plenty comfortable outdoor seating available. I love parking down on Main Street, grabbing a nice cold brew with oat milk and just enjoying a sunny day in their seating area. Cheech's Own is a welcomed addition to the up and coming downtown Somerville. Located on the corner of Main Street and Division Street, this trendy coffee shop serves up some really good beverages. On the menu are classics (drip, french press, pourover), espresso (americano, capachino, latte, macchiato), teas (classic, matcha latte, chai latte), specialties(mocktails with coffee), on tap (cold brew, nitro cold brew, kombucha) and sweet treats (cookies, baked pastries, vegan treats). Entering the coffee shop, you're met with a warm trendy establishment furnished with wooden table tops and seating surfaces perched upon metal frames, resting atop a patterned tile floor, brightly lighted with natural light from the large ceiling to floor windows and overhead Edison bulbs and audible tunes that can heard but as to not interfere with one's onus.  On the right, a long farm table sits centered between the counter and individual tables and on the left are counter seating and a stage-setup provisioned for live performances. For this visit, the Lady and I ordered a seasonal drip coffee (single origin honduran) and a latte. Both were very good.  The drip extraction yielded typical tasting notes associated with a single origin honduran and the latte, with messy art, was smooth and creamy. I love this coffee shop!!! I had one of the best lattes, if not the best latte I've ever had the other night at Ambee. The barista was so kind and made the best drink ever. I ordered a hot latte and ended up changing my mind to iced before she had made the drink and she was so sweet about it and told me that actually makes it easier lol. Iced latte with oat milk ;) absolutely divine. I also ordered a vegan peanut butter chocolate dessert as well. I honestly wish I had a picture to share. It tasted so good!!!!! The peanut butter cream was sooo fresh wow! There is a great vibe about this location. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to come and chill and hangout. Went here with my fiancé a couple days ago. Coffee and food was good, but customer service from one of the workers, a young brunette,was rude. Didn't say thank you which would've been no biggie but I had put a decent tip in those stupid tips jars. What's esp annoying is I heard her thank customers after me in line and wishing them a good day. Not as if I gave any attitude so I no idea what was with the standoffish, ingrate behavior on her part, sheesh took me aback and bugged me. Very cute, trendy cafe! I've walked by multiple times but only recently decided to stop by. The Continental (cold brew and orange juice) is such an interesting concept that I had to try it. The verdict? I really did not enjoy it as much as I had wanted to. I was hoping the OJ would bring some sweetness to the coffee and an aromatic hint of orange (the same as you'd find in chocolates with hints of orange). Instead, the taste of orange concentrate mixed with the bitter cold brew resulted in a bland flavor that left me very confused. It tasted very diluted and not satisfying at all. I had a few sips of my friends Americano and I can tell that the Continental is not representative of the kind of quality coffee they serve here. Cute coffee shop in Somerville. Near a ton of restaurants and not too difficult to find street parking (metered). There's tables for studying and catching up. It's brightly light in an open space with cute decorations of plants and books. They have great, quality coffee! Not watered down or too sour. I'm usually very picky when it comes to matcha at coffee shops but I love the matcha at this place. It's strong and the milk balances it out without taking away from the matcha flavor. read more

My family and I came to Ambee Coffee for a Yelp event. My family and I are extremely picky about what coffee we drink. Some people know all about wine, we know all about coffee ...good coffee. Not D&D and chain coffee. We ordered lattes and a cold brew. The drinks were fantastic. The coffee was smooth as were both lattes. No acid taste and not bitter at all. Every drink was perfectly made.
