Their menu features some really cool options, and their specialty drinks are clearly fan favorites. I couldn't decide between the coconut ube latte and the guava matcha latte, but I went with the latter and was thoroughly pleased! It had the perfect blend of tropical fruity flavor from the guava, and the matcha was spot on since it was smooth and not at all grassy. I go to Ambee regularly and have gotten several drinks there over the years. Parking over here is hard so it's always better to park in a lot and walk over. The inside is so cute and cozy there's tables and chairs I always see people working in there. I also enjoy sitting outside when it's warm out. Ambee does fall really well I love their seasonal drinks. My personally favorite is their house made pumpkin syrup. It is SO good and perfect for fall, but they run out so fast. I wish they had pumpkin for the full time from September-November before they release winter drinks. A classic that I always like is the hibiscus lime iced tea that's a good one especially in the summer when you want a little pick me up in the afternoon. This is definitely a must see stop if you're ever in Somerville. I'm looking forward to trying other drinks and food at the Warren location and the eventual Flemington location too. read more

I've gone to Ambee Coffee a couple of times over the years as I always love a good café/coffee shop. It's located on Main Street in Somerville. Depending when you go, parking can be tricky, but not impossible. I recently went here on a Monday late morning/early afternoon and it was busy, but not too hectic. I saw that they have an Ube latte on their menu and as a Filipina American, I had to check it out. In addition to an ube enthusiast, I'm a Macha snob. I don't know anything about coffee, but matcha is my thing. My barista was friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with my questions. I love that they use Nu milk for their alt milks as it tastes good without all the fillers. I ordered an Ube Matcha latte with almond milk from the barista's recommendation and got a vegan breakfast sandwich. Their Ube syrup was legit. You could taste the halaya and the color was a natural purple. I think and hope that they work with the Filipino owned brand to support the local farmers of the Philippines. You know Starbies isn't doing that. Unfortunately, the Matcha was not it. I cringed as I saw the barista pull the Matcha from a plastic Tupperware. I could not taste it at all in my latte and sadly consumed another green tea latte. (Not the same.) For me, I like a Matcha latte that is sweet, creamy, and umami. Suggestions: I think that their Ube latte would pair better with Hojicha (roasted green tea). I think the nuttiness of the Ube would compliment the cocoa / warm notes of the hojicha. I am a huge fan of Ooika in Princeton and I know they partner with other local cafes in NJ. They're very transparent and knowledgeable about Matcha and are a great resource. Most cafés focus on coffee, education, but nowadays, Matcha education is just as important. Final thoughts: I would happily return to Ambee. It's a great café that serves good quality drinks and food. It's a great place to work and build community. The baristas are kind and genuine, and their seasonal drinks look delicious. If you like Ube, definitely come here instead of Starbies. If you want other Ube treats or drinks, also check out Kafe de Manila, which is located a few doors away. read more

Best coffee in downtown Somerville! Ambee's coffee is consistently excellent, and they make a cappuccino the way it should be. Perfectly balanced and not too much milk. It's one of those places where you know exactly what you're going to get every time, and the quality never disappoints. Their baked goods are also delicious. They have some of the best gluten-free cookies I've found at a coffee shop. I also tried the gluten-free scone--it was good, though I'd definitely recommend having it warmed up. The cookies are still my favorite GF option. The café itself is cute, modern, and thoughtfully designed. It has a fun, trendy atmosphere, although it can get pretty busy and loud during peak hours, so it isn't always the ideal place if you're looking for a quiet spot to work. I also have to give credit to their branding and marketing. Their social media is genuinely some of the best I've seen from a local business. The photography, videos, and product launches are always beautifully done, and even the coffee cup design is stylish and instantly recognizable. It's clear they put a lot of thought into every aspect of the customer experience. I've also been to their Warren location, which is just as good. It feels a bit larger and more spacious while maintaining the same great coffee and welcoming vibe. I've heard they're opening a location in Flemington, and I'm so excited! In December, I got the chance to participate in a Yelp Elite Experience included December for the Ambee Coffee Co location in Warren. That experience wasn't my favorite, but I figured I'd give the Somerville location a try. This location definitely looks and feels smaller than the one in Warren. However, the staff here were way nicer. One reason why I wanted to give Ambee Coffee another try is because I don't drink coffee. Funny, right? The thing I like about Ambee Coffee is that they have several options for us non-coffee drinkers. They even include non-coffee options in their seasonal drink menus. Another reason why I like Ambee Coffee is because they use a lot of organic and healthier ingredients in their drinks and food. During this visit, I got their spring seasonal drink, a blueberry matcha. I loved the pretty presentation of it with its layers of color. The drink was good. It wasn't super sweet and it was just the pick-me-up that I needed. Overall, I give 4.5 stars, but rounded it up to 5. read more

I've been to the Ambee in Warren for a Yelp Experience and this place is probably half the size but so much more livelier! Even the baristas are friendlier and smile more. This is easily one of the best coffee spots in Somerville. Great coffee, solid service, and the music is almost always on point. But recently, they changed the aesthetic. The redesign itself is actually an upgrade--but the new uniforms are not. The baristas now wear these branded T-shirts that make the place feel way more corporate, like it's trying to be Starbucks... which is exactly what this place never was. First time visiting Ambee Coffee and had a great experience! We came in quite early one Saturday morning (only a few minutes from their opening time) and i guess that was key! Lol town was still peaceful with no crowds yet and so was the cafe. Inside felt brand new and decor was a vibe. It was cool that they have a live band (not that early of course) and they also have outdoor seating. They only have limited eats though unlike the other branch- only pastries and cookies, which is totally fine. The barista during our visit was wonderful - pleasant, accommodating and made cute latte arts! Hubster, as usual, had a plain latte and I had their cherry ube. It was pretty good. I still like my ube latte "pinoy style" but this was different and I like trying new things with lattes. The Everything croissant with cream cheese was delicious and the cheddar jalapeño scone too! Im not a big scone eater but the one they have here are enjoyable. The cookies were definitely a nice treat too! This cafe is a drive but we're glad we came to visit. This was our group's first time here. This cafe is cute. Great interior decoration, good spot to study, do work, or to meet friends. I ordered a brown butter cookie and hot matcha latte. The brown butter cookie was scrumptious - nice flavor, a decent size. The matcha latte was okay. I saw it on their online menu, but not the in-store menu. Unfortunately this latte was more lukewarm than hot. I wonder if they just threw this into the microwave for :30. The flavor wasn't there for me either - it more so sat at the top of the cup which was only filled a little more than halfway. I also checked in on Yelp and showed the $2 off offer to the cashier and he half acknowledged it and didn't honor it. Again, unfortunate. My friend ordered the lavender lemonade which neither she nor her husband finished because it was way too sour. There are plenty of other coffee shops on this downtown strip that might be more worth trying! read more

A very cute coffee shop in the heart of downtown Somerville. There's street parking or a lot walking distance. The spot is very chill. We were able to get a table no problem. The barista was super sweet, we were a party of four with two kids and was very patient with us. We got the maple Ube latte, nitro cold brew, hot chocolate. Pastries that we got were almond croissant, butter croissant, cheddar scallion scone, cold brew coffee donut and apple cider donut. I got the maple Ube latte, usually the Ube is very sweet and has an overpowering taste but this was very subtle which I love! Check in on Yelp for $2 off your order!!! I've gotten the Colombian and Honduran coffee as well as the caramel latte here. The coffee is very rich and flavorful, latte is perfectly sweet. Their almond croissants are delicious too! Request yours toasted. There's a nice variety on the menu with your typical standard coffee and espresso drinks plus a nice addition of matcha lattes, kombucha, and a London fog type drink with earl grey tea and oat milk if you're into that! The baked goods look good too. The Speculoos cookie is next on my list to try. Staff is friendly and the cafe is always clean. Prices are high (over $4 for a large Colombian coffee), but quality is much better than coffee chains like DD or Starbucks. Absolutely delicious!!! I did a delivery order and I was obsessed with my drink and everything croissant. I got the London Fog which was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the Nitro Black with Ube Foam and while I do enjoy more milk in my caffeinated beverages - his was pretty yummy too. Their drinks are not too heavy in sugar and refreshing. I originally told my sister I would treat her to coffee but after ordering my drink and seeing it come out to $7 I told her we were sharing lol. I think the cookie was a Salted Caramel Chocolate cookie that didn't taste like caramel at all. Just very muted chocolate. The texture of the cookie wasn't the best either, slightly too hard.
