My sister and I just went to Ambassadors and got two coffees for us and one for our mom. Our mom doesn't like strong coffee and likes it super sweet. Gabriel listened to us and hooked us up with the best coffees tailored to each of our tastes. There were quite a few people waiting to order and Gabriel was so intentional in helping us, being present and calm and helpful and wonderful! Mom said it was the best coffees she's ever had so it def passed the test! When we walked out my sister and I both said wow that man is so calm kind and Christ-like. We were truly in awe of his confidence and the way he comforted and helped everyone in the room. This was truly an interaction we will never forget and we spoke about in the car and said "What would it look like for us to slow down and look people in the eye and serve them this way." We love Ambassadors Coffee! The owners are so warm, friendly and welcoming! They have plenty of meeting/work space, space for rent and to connect with people! Cozy home away from home coffee shop vibes. The coffee, pastries and small eatable menu are all delicious. They also have artwork for sale and other baked goods (sourdough, etc). Definitely a must try and definitely a come back spot! As a remote worker with a second job in the Ridge Shopping Center, I stopped by this coffee shop to see if it would be a good place to focus mid-mornings & it absolutely is! The space is cute, welcoming, & consistently clean, especially the collaborative area where I plan to work. It stays fairly quiet during mid-mornings & I love that the doors can be closed to keep noise down. I've visited three times with the first two visits having small mix ups on my food/drink, but mistakes happen & the staff was apologetic for it. On my third visit, Gabriel took great care of me & recommended the Peach Mango Refresher, which I now love & will keep ordering. Thank you for creating such a cozy, inviting environment. My sister and I tried Ambassadors Coffee and both ordered the banana matcha, but unfortunately it wasn't great. The matcha was pretty watered down, and we couldn't taste much banana flavor at all. Maybe it would be worth trying a different matcha, not sure. The location is also a bit confusing -- you have to go around to the back of the building to find the entrance. I loved this place SOOO much! I am obsessed with it! The spiritual atmosphere is so present and amazing! They had some beautiful artwork you could buy. I got a seasonal I believe jasmine Matcha it was definitely floral. I'm not sure I would get it again, but I'm glad I tried it. They had a little prayer board that you could write your prayers and post them to it and I guess somebody could pick it up and pray for you and I thought that was amazing and then it looked like they had a prayer room coming, where people could just go and pray in there and then I thought that was amazing and it looked like they might've had a meeting rooms where people could go and meet together, but I didn't go back and look at those. We also bought some fresh honey and it is really tasty. It was a little pricey, but it's fresh so I think it's worth the price and I would buy it again. I instantly fell in love with this spot and honestly wish it was closer to me. They have multiple workstations, private rooms, a podcast room, and even a worship room that's open all night. I ordered a vanilla iced matcha and it was delicious! The only small issue was that the matcha started separating a bit making the texture slightly grainy but overall still really good. This is a true Kingdom hotspot! I went to an event there called Proverbs & Profits, and I was absolutely blown away by the culture and the atmosphere. This isn't just a coffee shop -- it's a Christian, business-minded CEO's safe haven. You can feel the intentionality behind every corner. There are creation rooms, collaboration spaces, and even a 24-hour worship center. Plus counseling!! What, at a coffee shop??? And it's free! This place is buried treasure for faith-driven visionaries (like me, the one in purple). I only had time to grab a lemonade because I was rushing to my networking event which was located in the back, but it was refreshing. And the owner (Brenda) radiates such an authentic love for God. Adorable coffee shop! It's a great place to relax or get some work done. I ordered a latte with their house-made brown sugar, and it was very good. I also tried the jalapeño kolache--delicious! I wish I liked their matcha, but... Former coffee shop and specialty tea shop barista here. After hearing such excellent praise for Ambassador's, my fiancé and I decided to head on over to give it a shot. The office space-esque atmosphere with an urban minimalist environment made this place a pretty neat spot for quiet working or studying, and I absolutely adored all of the cute Lego builds that decorated the place. Atmosphere aside, the barista who made our drinks wasn't particularly rude, but he was far from friendly. The Matcha Lattes we ordered weren't exactly our favorite matcha experience. I was excited to see that the drinks were made traditionally with the mixing bowl and everything, but it definitely needed some form of sweetener which we did not get in either drink. Whereas my fiancé's was made with Whole Milk which helped dull down the bitterness, mine was ordered with Oat Milk which contrasted too terribly with said bitterness to the extent I did not finish mine. I've had bitter matcha before, but this time around was a little too much for me. If we return I'd like to try their Matcha Lattes again but make sure sweetener is added, or order something different entirely. With such good reviews, I have to believe that this one visit was a fluke. Still, it gets a 3 out of 5. read more

I was out running errands and made pit stop here for a quick espresso. Thanks to previous reviews I was able to find the entrance easily. Upon entering, I looked around. The shop appears to be part of a ministry/co-op working space. The cafe counter itself is very attractive. The barista was chatting with friends and approached the register after I did. He didn't say anything to me, not even a hello. I asked for a cappuccino and it came out quickly. I enjoyed the unique art and drinkware. It tasted smooth and rich, not too milky. I wish the environment had been a little more inviting. I think I'll come back if I'm in the area or if there is a bakery pop-up, but I wouldn't go out of my way for a second visit. read more

After leaving the sauna, I decided to find a (new to me) local coffee shop. Ambassadors Coffee was 10 minutes away and boasted some good reviews. At first, I thought I was in the wrong location, but it turns out that the shop is located on the backside and upper level of the shopping center. Note to self, you'll have to climb some stairs to get up there. I didnt see an elevator, but then again, I wasn't looking for one. As soon as you walk in, you'll see the coffee counter with a smiling face. I was warmly greeted/welcomed by the barista. He named several house-made syrups, as well as conventional syrups. I asked him to surprise me with something sweet but not hazelnut and maybe seasonal. He recommended a dirty chai and added some caramel. I also ordered a quesito (puerto rican flaky pastry filled with cream cheese. Kinda like a rolled danish). Both were out of this world. First time having either of them and now I want more lol. There are four separate sitting areas, one to the left of the coffee bar (I didn't go in there), one immediately in front of/adjacent to the coffee bar with a few tables and chairs, a workspace area, and a more loungey area with big leather couches and church style seating. I sat in the latter room. In addition to the church style seats, there's a stage and a pool table. There was a nice calm/chill vibe with Christian music playing in the background. The Chai and the Matcha were both delicious, and the owners were wonderful! This place deserves more than five stars! We'll definitely be returning (during normal operating hours next time)! First things first: this place is clearly a Christian establishment once you are inside. The literature is focused on that, the attached coworking space is statedly Christian, and the name makes more sense when paired with it really being Kingdom Coffee once you're inside. This is, legitimately, probably the best latte I've had in San Antonio. The quesito? Amazing. Flaky. Not too sweet. The hot chocolate my companion grabbed on this chilly January day was also not overly sweet and had a distinct chocolate flavor. The barista was warm and friendly, asked my name and why we came in (our eye doctor is one door down). She seemed legitimately engaged in excellent customer service. Unfortunately, the man that she informed me was the manager, was not so welcoming. Seems I'm not the type of customer they'd like to attract. I get it, not everywhere is for everyone. Some more overt signage outside would be great, if this is the intention, so that folks don't make the trek upstairs. We wanted to try out a new coffee place in town, and had seen some really good reviews for Ambassadors. We walked in early and while there were only two other people there, the barista was very friendly and answered all of our newbie questions. We ended up ordering an americano, cappuccino, kolache, and a quesito pastry. While everything was being made we wandered around to check out the place. Since there are several co-working spaces and conference rooms, it is a very large setup. I could definitely see it being a great spot to do some remote work or have a relatively small meeting. The back room where we ended up sitting is very large and also serves as a worship area. Very comfy couches in the back though! Our drinks and food were done quickly and we went back to sit down. The kolache was jalapeno cheddar sausage and was excellent! The quesito pastry was very flaky and was a nice lighter option. Both of our coffees were very flavorful roasts and we thoroughly enjoyed them. We really enjoyed the ambiance, the drinks, and the food. Been here a couple times & always been greeted as soon as I walked in. So far I've only had their iced & hot lattes and I really like it. They've always been helpful answering what syrups they have and explain how sweet the syrups can be, i personally like flavor but not overly sweet. And to my surprise I've been having hot lattes more, i usually go with iced so the drink aren't a complete fail when trying out coffee shops but they always nail it. They do have alot of seating options for those who do work, and I've noticed it as a quiet coffee shop everytime i drop by. Ambassadors coffee is a Christian coffee shop. You walk in and you feel the warmth of the place immediately. The barista was friendly and embraced my coffee complaints to help guide my selection of drink. I complained I always get warm milk and so he guided me to the Das Machine, which is a double shot of espresso with agave to sweeten and balance the bitter notes of your typical espresso. My wife chose a cappuccino, which isn't all foam like in most places. It was well balanced and just the right amount of sweet. For a light breakfast we got a Quesito, a mix between a cheese danish and a pan dulce. So...the drinks...wonderful...and most importantly they tasted like coffee. Their triple basket Aussie menu is coffee forward and the mixology is able to provide full dark roast flavor while cutting the bitterness and NOT just serving you warm milk with no real coffee flavor. The pastry...it's good. Probably could have been toasted a little more. If we lived here...I would definitely work in the co-op area. Oh, and the back area...very cozy and comfy. Lastly...the service. Jackson, our barista, was extremely helpful with drink suggestions and a wealth of knowledge about different roasts and techniques to brew our espresso at home.
