After seeing this store while driving on the highway, hubby and I decided to go and check it out. Upon entering the store, we noticed there were two different types of shopping carts for customers to use which were orange or green as well as a dash cart option. Hubby asked employee for more details about the different shopping options and the employee told him customers could shop the "normal way they" pay via self checkout or with a cashier or do the "dash cart" option. Hubby was told that the "dash cart" option was for Amazon Prime members who had their account connected to their bank account. After hubby confirmed his Amazon Prime bank account information, he was given a special cart which allowed him to scan our I'm while shopping for a completely contact-free experience As we walked down the aisles at Amazon Fresh Murrieta, I noticed that some of my favorite items cost substantially more there than elsewhere (e.g Veganaise is $9.99 at store I usually shop but was $11.57 at Amazon Fresh.) Hubby loved scanning his items while shopping and hearing the "ding" sound to signal that the scan was a success. When arriving at the salad bar and hot bar, I was pleasantly surprised to see allergen listed above the hot and salad bar food, I was disappointed by the small amount of vegan friendly bar options which consisted of ingredients to make a salad, vegetable stir fry, an Asian inspired chopped salad, and dolmas. I will admit that there was a bit of a learning curve when using the dash cart for salad bar items but luckily, an employee was nearby to walk us through the process. During our shopping trip, we learned that whenever you plan to purchase an item from the "salad bar," you have to select "add food or code," type in "salad bar," place your box in the back of the cart to have it automatically weighed, then place the box of food in your cart. Though this technology is cool, there we're times when the cart gave an error that we didn't put the item in the cart but this was easily fixed by pressing a button confirming all items weee in the cart. The ambience in the store was pleasant with several employees stocking the shelves, clear digital signage in the aisles, and wide aisles to accommodate several shoppers. My main pet peeve at Amazon Fresh Murrieta was that the store grouped vegan frozen food mixed with non vegan food. I personally would prefer to have vegan frozen food separate but understand that this might not be possible due to freezer space constraints. As hubby prepared to pay for our groceries, he was extremely pleased when he walked through the dash lane and exit, was checked out contact free, and the cart presented him with the choice of if he wanted his store receipt emailed to him. Overall, we both liked the shopping experience because it was interactive and thorough but disliked having to confirm that items purchased were actually in the cart. Likewise, we and would like to see more clearer signage in the hot bar/salad regarding discounts since we were told by an employee that food from there areas were reduced in price during 6pm-7pm but didn't see a discount on our store receipt. read more

Stopped by to drop off an Amazon return. We also needed a few groceries, so might as well just purchase them here. I thought it was going to be a higher bill than it actually was. This was my first time going in this specific Amazon fresh location and the older lady who greeted me and my family at the door had stopped us before entering the store she had told us "we currently do not accept EBT just to let you know....we are asking everyone " she in fact was NOT asking everyone!!!!! At the cashier I was made aware that they do not accept digital card and so I rushed towards my car to get cash as I went back in she was not informing the white ladies who where entering the store. Amazon Fresh and Returns is basically adult Disneyland. You walk in with a bag of random packages you don't want anymore, and magically--poof--they disappear! Then you turn around and realize dinner is waiting for you on the shelves. It's like Amazon knows you forgot to plan ahead (again) and saved the day. The location is super convenient, the employees are friendly and don't judge when you return things you clearly bought at 2 a.m. after watching one too many TikToks. Super convenient for making Amazon returns, but that's literally it. The place as a store is very useless considering you can just go to a regular grocery store where the prices are probably cheaper. Everything was very organized which makes sense -- because it's always empty. The employees looked super bored and would either talk to each other or wait for a customer to ask for help. The quality of the food and products seem good, but nothing mind-blowing. They have everything that you'd find at a normal grocery store so I don't understand the purpose of an Amazon Fresh at all. If Amazon wasn't super rich, they'd definitely close down by now. It was really spacious though and seemed to have everything you could possibly need. The only place that had remotely any customers was the return section, but they were still slow even with 2 people working together. Also, I find the entire process of getting in super confusing as well. You have to scan your phone to open the gate and leave, but there's also an option where you don't need to scan. A very iffy business model that caters to people who don't want to wait in a checkout line. In a nutshell, this grocer isn't green enough to be a Whole Foods, and it's too small to be Sprouts. The prices are in line with Sprouts, which means it's pretty expensive for non-produce. There is one thing of note here, and that's their packaged sushi. For grocery store sushi, this was really good. Even better than their sister store Sprouts. * Not very busy inside. Most people just park outside and have it delivered to their car. * Curious first-time visitors will find that entering the strore is confusing. You might mistake this place for a New York subway station with the entry gates. Hopefully, there's a docent up front to help guide a customer's first visit. Basically, if you just want to shop and check out with a human being, go through the yellow gate. If you use the Amazon app and want to scan everything yourself and skip the checkout, then go through the green gates. * OCD level of stocking organization. Every product label lined up perfectly. They don't do this for your benefit. It helps the employees identify products more easily for "pickup and delivery" orders. read more

So. Greeted by nice lady who pointed out coupons in mailer resting perfectly in clean cart in cupholder. It was $10 off $100 spend. SHe said it would be a stackable and there was another $10 off. I scanned and added these coupons to my account. I already linked my account by scanning QR code from my app to link to cart. Figured out how to add items w bar code and did my Amazon return. Scanned a coupon on the end cap of the store. At dash line check out coupons would not add. Cart took a $5 off instead. Then cart computer locked and when she tried to help it shut down. It wiped my history and I had to go through self check out and scan every item again and tried again needed help and the same sales associate did not try to fix this problem. She said oh well you only get the five dollars off. So my advice is don't come here if you are in a hurry, don't come here if you don't want to be disappointed it's one thing to have items that are same prices everywhere else and a little bit more complicated to check out, but it's another thing to be promised a discount and then not get it and then the associate not even try to advocate/get it for the customer so I found this an all-around disappointing experience. First time newbie at Amazon fresh. We actually stopped for a different store and saw this one. I couldn't resist. Went inside and what a trip. Such a weird quirky exciting terrifying enchanting exhilarating experience. We were welcomed at the door and given the lay of the land by a helpful gentleman. Walked around in amazement and explored some high priced items with sprinkles of sales. We needed some charcuterie items and this was the perfect stop. It was like adult lunchables. This Amazon Fresh reminds me of their Whole Foods brand, minus the tie-died clothing, specialized soaps, vitamins and herbs section. First of all, the store is very bright and well setup. There's something for everyone, particularly busy work folk who want something more high end for dinner. Think a higher end version of Sprouts, with lots of specialty and take-away prepared meals. Their selection is outstanding. If you're looking for something special, or hard to find, then come here. But.... You knew there was going to be a but, right? The prices on most items are... well... full. Like a dollar or two more than they should be. Lastly, the WiFi is very poor. So if you're using your App to get through their gate system, good luck. Came in for the first time because my friend had an Amazon return so I tagged along. Pretty cool that they have the option to do that here as well as pick up orders from the lockers, I believe? Entrance was cool, they kind of have security type bouncers at the front of the store to kind of guide you on what to do. Since we weren't shopping we didn't have to scan anything or checkin, I guess. It was clean, organized, bare minimum on shelves, cool concept, quick and friendly service at returns. Usually I will try to attend a grand opening, but I didn't jump on this one and it seems there was no need to. Went to check it out for the first time and was not wowed for some reason. I read the reviews prior to my arrival and when I got in, it seemed more like an institution than a grocery store. The gentleman at the front guided me through, as I told him I'd never been. He informed me that I had to swipe my CC into the scanner in order to get in...even if I just wanted to look around. I didn't intend to buy anything, and didn't. Knowing that I scanned my card without having made a purchase just doesn't sit well with me. My understanding is that the card you swipe has to be linked to your Amazon account. Once you put an item in your cart or basket, they know you did. Idk how it works if you change your mind and put something back?! I walked around the store and the set up is like an Aldi, but with more to offer. The hot food/salad bar was lacking in some areas. It was late morning so maybe they were still getting things out but I didn't see one rotisserie chicken out. The salad bar is pretty extensive, but I am not sure how to feel about them just being out there and accessible. I mean, I see the same thing at Barons, but they have gloves and sanitizer nearby. Idk if I missed seeing that here, but all I could think of was a little kid sneezing or coughing while mom or dad was getting stuff. No thanks! I ventured off to the liquor aisle to see if they have a hard seltzer I've been looking for (sadly they didn't). I didn't realize there was a "gatekeeper" at the aisle opening, who asked me for my ID after she noticed I slipped in. She said she wasn't paying attention...she was nice though, and explained that the reason they do that is because some young 'uns try to steal alcoholics. Tsk tsk!! According to her, there are reports that this process has actually lowered the number of drunk driving accidents in the area. I think it's a good system and I'd like to see it being implemented at all other stores selling alcohol. That was about the only good thing about shopping here imo. Prices do seem higher which is odd especially since... it's AMAZON!!! I saw one reviewer who posted a box of spaghetti noodles for $4.39??? Uhhhh...are those noodles made of gold?! Pass! They do have a return center for your Amazon packages if you need to handle that. Parking is never a problem here, either. Ultimately it was a bizarre concept for me. I encountered 3 "gatekeepers" while here. At the entrance, at the liquor aisle and when I left. I guess it seems like a good way to prevent shoplifting, but if you're trying to shop in a pinch, don't go here. Not a fan of the electronic receipts that you don't get instantly, either (per Yelper reviews). I need to get in, get my stuff and get out, receipt in hand. The store was not busy at all. Extremely clean store. I love how they have the kiosk to register and use your palm to pay or you can pay using the cart or the Amazon app. You cannot tap or use Apple Pay here. Jeremiah was an associate that was extremely helpful. He made sure to check for what I was looking for even went to the back of the story to find it. The cashier was a guy name with a P maybe Paul. He was amazing! He helped me with my entire checkout. I found everything I needed for dinner that night and then some. They even had strawberries on sale for $1! I will be returning. read more

I have no complaints about Amazon Fresh. I've only used them for delivery though and never entered the actual store. With that said, I've ordered through them many times and have never been disappointed. I've often found items that I've not found at my local grocery store. Produce items have been every bit as fresh as my local grocery store as well. It's not a health food store/market so I don't expect to receive produce like I would expect from Sprouts or a farmers market. Their prices are competitive and complaints, if I have any, are quickly recognized and resolved. Well, there is one thing they could improve on, for deliveries. There is quite a bit of unnecessary packaging. I'd rather see fuller bags. All in all, I'm a happy shopper! read more

6/14/22 I attempted to come here last Friday, and the store was closed for technical issues. Sherrie stood outside and let customers know that and gave out $5 coupons for the inconvenience. I returned today with the $20 off $50 purchase plus the $5. My husband and I walked in and weren't addressed until we asked for help. How the heck does this all work? Young man came over to instruct us dummies, in a manner that my 13 year old grandson would...like damn! Don't you have a clue, kind of attitude!!! LOL! We spotted two guys giving everything they had to eyeball mold and rotten produce. That was a great sign. The store seems dark, not well lit. Perhaps the one be-zillion surveillance cameras up top, needs low light setting, for less glare. Shopping was fun. I was challenged to spend $50 (didn't really need much at home) and ended up spending $70 I got home and really did my due diligence to ensure I was neither under or overcharged. My findings: I was charged for one bag of hotdog buns and one bag of hamburger buns (more $) even though I had bought both hotdog buns. I was also charged for 1 kiwi fruit that I never even got touched. Paper bags are $.06 All in all, this store has kinda sorta replaced the Ralph's grocery store that has been gone for years. I never shopped there because it was very expensive. I don't foresee making this my #1 place, to shop. I have commissary privileges, Costco and Sam's Club. I also live within a few miles of Winco. These would be my stores, even though Amazon is a minute from my house. I don't care for the gimmicks. I like low prices, and I know what I should pay. Thank you for a clean and refreshing experience. I hope you can improve upon pricing and the technical side of the operation. I'm sure there will be glitches at first. If you've never been to Amazon Fresh, it's a learning experience. However the staff is always willing to assist. Prices are middle to high on items available everywhere but the crowds aren't there. Decent to great inventory. Alcohol aisles are monitored so expect a check in gate. Check out is not like anything you've experienced so be kind to yourself the first time. Yay technology! read more

I only come here for the in-store sushi or if I'm in a hurry. This is probably the best in-store sushi I've had in the area. It's pretty funny watching people come in for the first time. I like the concept of their grab and go system because you don't have to wait in line. The sensors are supposed to charge you for everything you walk out with. It might feel weird the first time you do it. The store is pretty clean and workers were friendly. The prices are comparable to sprouts. I've had to make a few Amazon returns here and every single time it has been super smooth and easy. The staff here is great, super nice and helpful. I had the most pleasant experience with Tamisia in particular who is an angel from the heavens above. She was so fun to talk to and even rubber banded my egg carton so that my eggs wouldn't break.
