I've gone to this spot 2 times now and have not been disappointed either time. Some of the best and freshest tasting donuts in the area with decent drinks as well. Any donut lover should give this spot a try

The only place you can get GREAT gluten free donuts! You need to order them ahead of time (about an hour) but worth it!! I'd do it more often if I could order them online instead of calling.

We were greeted as we come in. The staff was friendly and explained to us what they have, as this is our first time. Service wise, 4 stars. Amazing Glazed is like a coffee shop... there are donuts, coffee, latte, ice cream. There are a few tables to dine in as well. As for the donuts, it's a pass for me. Don't like the texture of the donuts. The lady behind the counter told us it's fresh made, but it's not warm. The toppings are good. The donuts have to be eaten immediately because after a few hours, it's meh.. almost stale like. Overall, 3 stars.

This place is nestled in a quiet, not so traveled area of Chesapeake. It is small but has a lot to offer. They have candles (chocolates), ice cream and DONUTS! These donuts are not like Krispy Kreme donuts. They are cake donuts. They make them to order, but they are not piping hot. I would say that was my biggest disappointment. The staff is friendly and polite. The lace is clean. The donuts can be completely customizable which can get a bit overwhelming if you're not a donut connoisseur. They have different flavors of donuts and a 100 million ways to make them with a variety of toppings and glazes. I would recommend them, but I took my donuts home and put them in the oven at 170 to keep them warm. We had a few leftover the next morning and they were not good reheated. I forgot to take pics of the donuts. so you got a picture of the box.

Amazing service, dozens of flavors, cute little spot to eat your donut at the coffee bar. What's not to love?! Got the lemon, glazed, churro, and the s'mores. By far the churro is the best. But I can't wait to go back and try more. Served warm and with a smile. It doesn't get much better! So thankful for this little gem in my neck of the woods!

Donuts, ice cream, coffees, candies and coffee syrups oh my! Donuts are freshly made. They have stools available for kids to watch the donuts come out. Perfect way to cool down on this hot day! They have indoor and outdoor sitting. Private parking area. I'd go during a non-busy day. Getting out of the parking lot might be a headache during rush hour. You can always call ahead for pickup for easy in and out service. Bathroom is available and highchairs as well! Staff is awesome and patient.

The setup is 4 stars with books set up for different things - a party space, a candy space, an ice cream space, a donut space... very cute and reminds you of old timey candy store - they even have cotton candy machine! The friendliness was 3 stars, maybe they were about to closed... the donuts are cake donuts like Duck Donuts but they weren't even warm!! The cake batter was bland. The toppings were not dipped, they used little plastic spoons (like those used for ice cream) to spread the sauce toppings. I just wish it wasn't so underwhelming , I wanted so badly to be impressed

"AMAZING". Very unique, donuts made to order. Weekends have yeast donuts as well. All were delicious! Staff was exceptional!

Chocolate with regular icing and sprinkles Chocolate Boston cream Jelly donut (regular cake with raspberry jelly and sugar coating)

Who doesn't like donuts? Am I right?!! These are fresh, warm, made to order donuts. They're cake donuts (different than the soft melty donuts) I love that it's a local place. (No chain/franchise) If you are unfamiliar with Chesapeake, you might miss the shop. They have little stepstools for the little ones to watch the donuts being made. They have a menu board, but you can customize the donuts to whatever you like. They have flavors of the seasons: Sometimes apple cider, sometimes chocolate. I've never had anything I didn't like. They have coffee and ice cream, which I'm sure is amazing too. (No pun intended)

A total nightmare to get to for logistically, but totally worth the hassle and the drive. This place is tiny so we lucked out getting seats. There are a few seats on a low top bar facing the street and a few more high top bar seats facing the kitchen. Not ideal for socializing, but we made it work, I found this place to be extremely kid-friendly even though it isn't necessarily catering towards kids. Tons of great food options - highlights being the strawberry french toast and the chicken bacon ranch wrap. Pretty sure these are both specials for February, but gosh they should keep them year-round. The gentleman cooking was great - from food to service. My coffee was good. Not superb, but hit the spot. My biggest wish for coffee shops is always homemade syrups but at least they use Monin. Overall, great experience and will definitely be back next time I stumble upon the area.

My husband and I are regulars at Big Ugly but I've never taken the opportunity to try Taxus Street until this week. I tried to come on Monday and quickly learned they were closed, so returned the following day. They operate inside the brewery and have a nice setup in the corner. There is lots of seating - bars and high tops - and it's a great spot for a morning gathering. There was a meeting in the upstairs loft happening during my visit. The barista who assisted me was working solo. She was super friendly and happy to answer my questions. I was glad to hear they offer decaf espresso. I opted to try one of their seasonal lattes - the Mounds Bar latte with almond milk, mocha and coconut cold foam. It took only a few minutes for my order to be prepared. I did find the drink to be slightly sweet for my taste and would ask for half sweet on my next visit. For the lactose intolerant, they have almond and oat milk options. They also have several pastries and some hot food options to choose from like overnight oats and breakfast burritos from Burrito Perdido. I was really pleased with my recent visit and I'll be happy to come back soon!

One of the first things I realized after stepping in their door is they are a very pro military operation. They have lots a sign that indicate military support like a wall hanging of Challenge coins. Hidden Gem for Sweet Tooths & Pup Parents!…read more We visited House of Marmalade as part of the Hampton Roads Passport Series, and I am so glad we did -- I don't think I would've discovered this little gem otherwise! The shop is small and cozy with no indoor seating, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in charm and incredible sweets. The bakery case was absolutely stunning -- full of beautifully made cookies, macarons, and more. We tried three macarons (espresso, almond, and salted caramel), and every single one was perfection -- fresh, flavorful, and just the right size and sweetness. We also grabbed a shortbread cookie, which was buttery and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. And let's not forget our pup! Lexi got a pumpkin cupcake with peanut butter icing, topped with a tiny bone-shaped treat -- not only adorable, but she devoured it. Definitely pup-approved! The staff was fantastic -- super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. You can tell they care about their craft and their customers. I love their options of drinks an biscuits, I've especially been craving their bacon and cheddar biscuit since I've last had it, and it's nice to go to a cafe that dos things a little differently than the standard! One thing I also adore about this location is how they will host small markets on the lawn outside the house! One time me and my friend finished chatting and having coffee and we unknowingly walked outside to see a bunch of vendors that weren't there before! It was so fun to walk around and speak with everyone, they were all so sweet and I ended up buying multiple things unplanned! I will say it can be a tight squeeze between the doorway and the counter when ordering as the hallway is small and the line can grow rapidly. But if it's not cold outside or busy there then it's not really an issue at all! I'm sad that they aren't open past 1-2PM most days, but that's understandable given the business they run and thier location! I got a dozen last time and realized the texture changes after the first day. You can pop them in the microwave, but it'll never be the same as the fresh ones because they thicken up. So I highly recommend eating some before you even get out of the parking lot to get the best melt in your mouth experience!! The glazed is one of my favorite. It's a little crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It sincerely melts in your mouth. They're also pretty big, and while waiting you can see them making the donuts, with the glaze dripping off. It's exciting to get to the front after waiting in line.
