Cool place, I like it. Nice people and all. They never give you any trouble about the coupons, that's a plus in my book.

I tried the Classic, Raspberry and cinnamon sugar. My favorite is definitely the Classic. It was so fresh and sweet. It hits that sweet tooth you have. The raspberry was good! I wasn't expecting it to be that good. It was raspberry with a hint of lime. Delicious and not overally sweet. The cinnamon sugar tasted just like a churro but better.

Which is nothing new, but it moves pretty quickly. I'm a talker so I'll always find someone to talk to while waiting to make the time go by faster. Their flavor schedule changes, so follow them on Facebook. This week they had cinnamon sugar, klassic glazed, and strawberry. I got glazed and strawberry. I got a dozen last time and realized the texture changes after the first day. You can pop them in the microwave, but it'll never be the same as the fresh ones because they thicken up. So I highly recommend eating some before you even get out of the parking lot to get the best melt in your mouth experience!! The glazed is one of my favorite. It's a little crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It sincerely melts in your mouth. They're also pretty big, and while waiting you can see them making the donuts, with the glaze dripping off. It's exciting to get to the front after waiting in line. The strawberry one was good, but not better than the original glazed. I can't wait to try the lemon one. The staff is always friendly and they keep the line moving!! You can also preorder to skip the line. If you see them, I absolutely recommend stopping to try at least 1. You won't regret it. Lol. Check them out!!!

My husband and I are regulars at Big Ugly but I've never taken the opportunity to try Taxus Street until this week. I tried to come on Monday and quickly learned they were closed, so returned the following day. They operate inside the brewery and have a nice setup in the corner. There is lots of seating - bars and high tops - and it's a great spot for a morning gathering. There was a meeting in the upstairs loft happening during my visit. The barista who assisted me was working solo. She was super friendly and happy to answer my questions. I was glad to hear they offer decaf espresso. I opted to try one of their seasonal lattes - the Mounds Bar latte with almond milk, mocha and coconut cold foam. It took only a few minutes for my order to be prepared. I did find the drink to be slightly sweet for my taste and would ask for half sweet on my next visit. For the lactose intolerant, they have almond and oat milk options. They also have several pastries and some hot food options to choose from like overnight oats and breakfast burritos from Burrito Perdido. I was really pleased with my recent visit and I'll be happy to come back soon!

While there…read moreis no shortage of great filipino food in NYC, this place does something quite special which is hard to find - merging authentic filipino flavors in a well-crafted, delicious and new way. Everything I've had here is delicious, but here are some of my favorites: UBE BLONDIES *** Probably one of their most signature items that stays on the menu season to season, this crumbly, satisfyingly dense, soft baked good with that nice punch of ube flavor will really have you coming back for more. The frosting glaze is just perfect, adding that sweetness that carries the ube flavor really nicely. The texture is just soooo satisfying, you can just tell when you cut your fork through it that it has this airy, yet dense and crumbly texture. TURON FRITTER Kind of like an apple fritter, but oh so crumbly, delicious, bright, and soft on the inside. Also had their brown sugar boba pudding cup when it came out, and it was really good; the tapioca actually blended quite nicely and was chewy and fresh, which means you're not stuck chewing it forever. Definitely on the sweeter side, but brown sugar items tend to be that way.

Needless to say the food was so good, pics proved to have zero chance. Sooo after a rough week, a Saturday late morning breakfast was calling for a much needed downtime to sit and enjoy... and well here we go: Some say happiness in a bottle, I say Happiness in a glass! Their iced praline mocha is soooo good! The right balance of mocha and coffee, not overly sweet but enough to give you a pick me up while enjoying their amazing food! Next time must try their lavender latte or pistachio... but gotta get it before 5/31 as it's available for a limited time! Definitely recommend the brekki bowl with cheese grits and fried chicken! You will not be disappointed. Cheese grits like "buhhhttah" without the oily and maybe the calories?! But honestly, so flavorful and creamy without the guilty feeling for having something that tastes so good. The veggies are fresh and perfectly cooked to give you great texture contrast. And let me tell you about their fried chicken!! Chefs kiss! Moist, flavorful lightly breaded chicken fried to perfection that had a slight kick for this girl. In full disclosure black pepper is spicy for me so take that with a grain of salt. And for those of you like me that believe there is never too much salt and add salt to your salt but need to cut that bad habit... this whole dish is the perfect amount of salt. I literally never had to add just a little more. The goat cheese crumbles gave each bite the little extra tah-dah pop that might have been otherwise gotten had you like me added a few more shakes of salt to the dish. Seriously though, if you are watching to slowly cut back on having to add salt to your food, this dish is for you! The service was great and everyone was friendly and hustling! This place is the best for a quick sit down or a group brunch. I saw a table of like 10 menly bros enjoying a huge selection of food, drinks, and catching up. Really awesome to see that as the next few tables were a mix of families with and without kids, in laws, aunts and uncles just coming together for amazing food, great and accurate service, and overall fantastic experience ina random Saturday morning!

Café Nectar is a cute quaint little shop on Virginia Beach Blvd. It is definitely tucked away so keep that in mind when making a visit. We were greeted by a really nice lovely staff. I ordered the Banana Amber. The menu didn't specifically differentiate what the drinks were as far as whether it was a latte or not so I had to kind of confirm that with the person taking my order. I initially requested to order cold foam that was on the menu, but I was told that they didn't have any cold foam so I just got the drink iced as is. I also ordered a blueberry lemon cake as well. Overall they had a solid selection of donut and cake flavors to choose from. My order was done rather quickly and I was second in line. I enjoyed the blueberry lemon cake. It was a large portion and super moist and very yummy. The latte however I was not a fan of. I ordered it iced and there was only a little bit of ice floating up at the top of the drink and there was a lot of milk in the latte. The color of the drink was very light so I was expecting this upon receiving. I was excited to try the drink as the menu stated that the syrups were homemade. It did definitely taste fresh, but the banana syrup seemed to be not sweet enough and and that is coming from someone who likes a really well balanced coffee. I think it could have been sweeter, as well as the banana flavor kind of tasted a bit under ripe/under developed. The owner did end up coming to me a few sips through my drink and asked if I still wanted the cold foam and she whipped some up for me. I tried the cold foam on its own and it just tasted like cream cheese mixed with heavy cream. It wasn't sweetened at all. It was just essentially thick cream which diluted the flavor and sweetness even more. I recommend the shop edit their menu a little bit so it can be clearer for understanding. Also moving towards having a little bit more product available as they did run out of cakes about 10 people into the grand opening. I recommend there be a sign upfront where you turn in pointing to the direction of the café so people are aware that it is there in the cut if that's an option. I know different areas have certain restrictions. Overall, I wish this café the best and I'm sure they'll be able to work some of the kinks out overtime. I think this spot is really cute for a nice stop in for a pick me up and the staff and owner were really nice.

They were serving fresh beignets in three flavors--bourbon sugar, powdered sugar, and cinnamon--and the bourbon sugar was hands down my favorite. It was so good that I ended up going back and ordering more to take home. They were warm, fresh, and perfectly made. If you've never had their donuts, they are easily some of the best around. Everything is made fresh while you wait, and their habanero sugar donuts are still one of my all-time favorites. I was hoping they'd have donuts this time too, but it just gives me a reason to visit them again at one of their other locations. The owner is always incredibly kind and welcoming. She remembered me right away, and it was so nice catching up. They haven't been out as much lately because of the cold weather, so it felt like a treat to finally get my fix again. Honestly, they were one of the main reasons I made sure to stop by. Glazed and Infused is absolutely worth seeking out. Fresh, unique, and consistently amazing every time by the way, just a little secret don't tell anybody they're opening up a brick and mortar soon so stay on the lookout
