Honestly the first time I came here it was pretty good, but after today's experience I will not be returning..I came to amarith cafe on my day off, since they are normally closed on the weekends at this location I was eager to try something new on the Menu, upon arrival i was told everything I wanted was from their fountain valley location menu even though that was the menu from yelp that was provided, I found that odd but ordered from the small menu at this location anyway..after waiting almost 30 minutes and being the only people in the restaurant I went up and checked on my food, i was told it would it would be coming out shortly..after another 5 minutes I received the two items I had order cold.. very disappointing read more

The food was cold and hot due to the service being slow and food being prepared at different times. The food didn't match the description as listed on the menu. When I asked why, the response was " oh we changed that." You pay for refills on both sodas and coffee. We paid 24 for 2 breakfasts which isn't that bad but ain't that great for the quality and quantity we got. The tables were at least clean so you can eat inside but all food is given to you like it's take out which feels sort of odd. Something to know before you go - there is no outside signage for this place but it is on the corner of Main Street and LaVeta and you can park in the lot on the corner of Main and LaVeta. From there it's in the middle of the high rise on that corner on the ground floor. Outside entrance from the inside courtyard. Been coming here for a long time. my office in the same building. Food is great. However like a few have said, the last few months, its gone down a bit. Service is slower, twice my order has been missing items. newer staff do not check, and chef left out what would think standard ingredients in their staple sandwiches! Which is strange as the place is not as packed as it once was at lunch time. Recent price hike makes a sandwich $12.00 average. So instead of 2 times i now go just once per week as a treat. so i hope they focus back to this place, and not let it slip down a slope, which can happen when focusing on another new business. I've ordered from here twice, and let me just say, this cafe hits and NEVER MISSES! The food is high quality, and so fresh, and delicious! So far I've had: The French toast plate The pancake plate The lumberjack breakfast burrito BYO burrito with Turkey sausage I don't even like French toast and there's is SO GOOD! The pancakes are *chefs kiss* the syrup the send? Thick,delicious and rich! The pork sausage?? I swore off pork a while ago, but I will eat the sausages here because they're just so good! Ate at the new location on Brookhurst in GG. Stopped in for lunch and ordered the chicken wings appetizer, Amarith and Burgonzola Burgers, salad and onion rings. The burgers were really good, cooked just right. Onion rings perfect. Now for the not so good. The restaurant is in a small complex that shares the parking lot with another business and a large Social Security office. Parking is very difficult. We almost gave up. Also, where we sat, there are floor to ceiling windows with a constant parade of homeless people walking by. And don't let me forget about the chicken wings. After waiting for 30 mins. our waiter told us they were out of them. What??? It took 40+ mins to get 2 burgers. Not the waiters fault, he was attentive and cute as a bug's ear. Would I go back? I rarely write reviews but Amarith Bakehouse deserved the five stars. I had wanted to order custom cupcakes to celebrate my 2 year Anniversary and I had reached out to about ten different bakeries to see where I could find the best price and quality. I decided to go with Amarith because of David Amarith. He was so professional, knowledgeable, kind, and responsive to my suggestions. David came up with the idea designs and incorporated different designs and stuck with my color palette that I wanted. The cupcakes look absolutely perfect, they exceeded my expectations. Honestly I have not eaten them yet but I'm sure they taste as good as they look. David quoted me at $54 for these cupcakes, which was a very fair price compared to the other bakeries who were quoting me $75+ for only one or two simple designs. David really went above and beyond with these. (Disclaimer: does not include the gold toppers, I got those myself). Even walking into Amarith Bakehouse, I was kindly greeted by staff, everyone was so nice and friendly to me. Great customer service all around. They have an entire restaurant that I'll definitely come try their food sometime. The ambience was very aesthetically pleasing with a farmhouse feel. Also their website is a little confusing and does not feature the Garden Grove location, which is where I had to go to order/pickup these custom cupcakes from David. All in all, I am very happy with this and will be coming back to try the food and order more customs baked goods in the future. I love coming here for lunch. The food is really good. You can never go wrong. The staff here is amazing. It is in a bit of a hiding area though so do not be intimidated to go inside the OC public building. If you want there is an outdoor dining area. My favorite go to is the ultimate amarith. You can not go wrong with any of the cookies here. I really like the toffee one though. If you on that lunch rush, order online for an easy pick up. read more

i work right across from the cafe so it's a quick option when i didn't pack a lunch. it's a quaint little place with more than a few tables. OBSESSED with the khmer noodle salad! they have others but i can admit i've only had one other one, but it doesn't even come close to the khmer. if you're in a rush, the salads and drinks may sometimes be pre-made and put in the display to grab and go, but the wait for anything to be made fresh is about 15 minutes, so just be sure to order ahead. their cookies are good too! a coworker shared one with me that had white chocolate & cranberries in it. i'm not a big chocolate fan but the cookie was extremely good. if you're in the area whether it's for work or leisure, give this place a chance. you won't be disappointed! read more

amarith is an amazing breakfast and lunch spot! the staff is always so friendly and ready to answer any questions you may have about the items on the menu. when it was my first time, they gave me a free cookie! i chose the white chocolate cranberry one and it was SO GOOD. for lunch, i had the chicken num pang, one of the french roll sandwiches. it was a bit of a wait to get it, but it was so worth it! the chicken was warm and tender, the pickled vegetables were refreshing and crunchy. and the butter tied it all together so perfectly. my friend got the philly cheesesteak and that was really good as well! this is a great breakfast and lunch spot, and i think most of the items on the menu will be pretty solid. highly recommend getting a cookie though. it was so good! read more

You can park on the bottom floor of the lot off of La Veta and Bedford and Amarith will validate your ticket for 1 hour. There are red umbrella's outside of the cafe that catch your eye if you're looking for the entrance! I called in my breakfast croissant order and subbed out bacon and subbed in avo. The staff was super friendly and told me it would be ready in 8 minutes which was perfect! I got it to go so I didn't really get to bask in the ~vibes~ of the cafe, but my to go breakfast croissant was really good! It's a pretty hefty size for $7 and the croissant was nice and buttery, the eggs were good, and the avocado was super fresh. I wish this place was closer to my work but it's probably better that it's further otherwise I'd come every morning! read more

The food and service here used to be top notch; however, since opening their Fountain Valley location, the staff left behind is inexperienced and too few to cover the lunch rush. The quality has diminished and today I ordered on-line for a chicken stir fry and tortilla soup. When I went to pick it up I discovered the soup was missing. When I asked I was told that they don't have tortilla at Orange, only at Fountain Valley. When I suggested they should remove it from the on-line menu, I was told they can't because they have it at Fountain Valley. So, I ended up paying $3.00 for soup that I assume I could get if I'm willing to drive to Fountain Valley. So disappointing when good businesses expand before they have the resources to do so. Sort of hard to see from the street but I've had their catering numerous times & had to come in person. Look for the Union Bank by CHOC and the red umbrellas in the patio area. Definitely a "to try" if you're local! Phenomenal pastries; flaky buttery croissants, muffins, chocolatey cookies and the occasional limited time specialties. The brioche bacon sandwich is made to order & is a beautiful hat trick of savory, a lil kick of heat from the chipotle ketchup and a generous amount of thick cut bacon. I was pleasantly surprised to the egg done perfectly over medium. My husband detests yolks and said it was delicious. There wasn't a catering menu available but it's listed online & the gentleman at the register said their chef is very likely to be able to make it...whatever I'm looking for. We saw that this place gets highly rated and wanted to try it. Unfortunately, it's part of a business center. There are limited spaces all reserved for the bank or paid parking which might only be for employees of the area. This kills it as an option for us. Today we were under a crunch and parked in a bank spot to finally try this place instead of driving around the area. The menu is small but what's there sounds good. We got the bacon egg brioche. Tasted ok, looked like your average fast food burger. I don't understand the 4.5 star rating. Maybe because the staff is friendly and personable? After coming here for lunch consecutively for like 3 or 4 days straight, I've grown to love this place more and more! Their Chinatown tea is so fresh and their Asian Chicken Salad (forgot the exact name) is so good! The dressing is fantastic--it has a hint of peanut sauce or something in it that makes it delicious! I could have it by the gallons lol. You CANNOT go wrong with this place. All ingredient are super fresh. I love that they have a grab and go section in addition to their kitchen. Literally a life saver when you're on the fly. You can pick bigger salads or the smaller size. They also have premade sandwiches. The tea I was talking about is also ready for you to grab. Only downside is that they don't have a smaller size. Note that their seating is limited--they also have some outdoor seating too, maybe about 5 or so tables? Thankfully, I didn't have to park so I don't have suggestions on where to do that. This cafe is located inside a bank (Union Bank?). I've gotten their nachos, salads, sandwiches, fish tacos (special depending on the day)...none of them disappointed me at all. This is a great spot for a quick AND healthy lunch. I've been eating here at least once a week for the last couple years since I work next door. The food is consistently delicious and fresh. The staff is exceedingly friendly and they remember your name if you come around enough! They stayed open through lockdown and sold rice, eggs, milk, masks, and other essentials when you couldn't find them in the grocery stores. Such a cute little cafe located on the first floor of Union bank and across the street from CHOC Children's! I stopped by after they generously offered a meal voucher to first responders and medical personnel. Their mango peach fruit smoothie and salmon bowl were yummy and definitely hit the spot! The smoothie was blended nicely and tasted so refreshing after my workout. The salmon bowl came with black beans, Spanish rice, pico de gallo, and chipotle aioli sauce. The salmon was grilled nicely but lacked in flavor. What the salmon lacked in flavor the chipotle aioli sauce definitely made up for. Overall, it was a good meal! read more

First of all, they use very fresh and natural ingredients, which is always a plus when I have a choice! I had the Mary's chicken club and albacore & more sandwiches the other day (share with my coworkers) and they were both very good! The chicken is very moist and the albacore is not fishy at all! I bummed into this place on accident. Parking can be a little difficult. The place is pretty small & limited amount of space inside but there is still out door seating. The atmosphere is great. You can feel the great energy from the staff members. The cashier Jessica always greets me with a happy voice & smile. If there something I don't understand off the menu she will break down the options. She was also the first person I interacted, when I first came in. This is my 4th time here & tried everything from the breakfast Croissant, chocolate chip cookies, lumberjack breakfast burrito, and Turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich. For starters...the workers! Super friendly and honestly, can't get any more helpful/friendlier than them. Being a first timer there, they guided me through everything and boy, do they know their menu. They recommended the Turugula ($9.00) and so with Turugula I went. I also noticed that they had onion rings and being both a huge fan and picky eater when it comes to onion rings, I decided to take a leap of faith and add it on ($3.25 + drink). AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. By far, one of the best onion rings I've ever had. Probably a tie between here and Yard House. Words can't explain how yummy these were! As for the Turugula - or in other words: turkey burger with arugula - that was crazy delicious as well. It came with their all natural turkey patty with swiss, tomato, sweet onion, basil aioli and, of course, arugula all in between a whole wheat bun. Talk about healthy AND fresh ingredients. I have been slacking on my reviews for a while so here I will attempt to make up for it. Kinda. Amarith is a great like cafe in an unusual location, albeit a great location for me. Their food is always fresh and well prepared. Their selection is impressively varied as well. So on my latest visit I thought the chicken tacos sounded like a good choice having had the fish tacos before and very pleased with them. The chicken ones are equally as good. A nice size portion on meat along with a great cucumber relish / salad. My only suggestion would be to add an additional tortilla to each to contain the goodness. If your in the neighborhood and hungry I highly recommend a visit to Amarith. You won't be disappointed! read more

Where to begin? Amarith Cafe is amazing. Very grateful their bread baker introduced me to Amarith, or I would've never found it. I'm not a fan of sandwiches or bread. BUT I gladly eat sandwiches here. I've ordered catering here a handful of times(35+meals at a time), and each and every time, everyone asks when are we having Amarith again! To be honest, not each time the Food has been "on time", but I gladly wait. Knowing that it hasn't been sitting there all morning, reassures me it's being made freshly. And its worth the wait. This ain't fast food. When I do pop in here for meals, each and every time has been spot on! Except for once when they forgot to add the additional bacon on to my order. But it was quickly rectified and it was another amazing meal. Service alway friendly, and everyone is so polite. I only recommend this place to those that appreciate great food. Those that complain on prices, parking, or "timeliness", go to fast food, that may be more up your alley. Ordered a lunch order for delivery for a business meeting and it was over an hour late. Very embarrassing in front of potential new clients. Additionally two of the orders were wrong and one dish was missing completely (but we were still charged for it.). Tried multiple times to call but were unable to get through.
