Quick and convenient. It is in the basement of an office building. My office is moving so I'm bummed I just discovered this place.

Inside an office building is a little gem of a cafe that is well worth a visit. We were hungry and of course did that quick "restaurants nearby" search on yelp when, City Tower Cafe came up. I ordered the veggie panini which came with a side of chips alongside an iced latte, which featured a good roast in the espresso shots. The panini was on a crunchy bread and the veggies were nicely roasted. And of course, i ordered a red velvet cookie. I couldn't resist! The outside of the cookie was crisp but the inside was soft and melty. The service was fast and friendly. The ambiance was clean and cozy. Disclaimer: This was a glitched review from a couple years back so the prices may be different! You can get a sandwich and a small side for $9-10. Great bang for your buck! Very filling (for a person who averages 5 tacos per meal) and the 3 of us couldn't finish 2 paninis, 1 wrap & 1 chicken quesadilla. All were very tasty. Cashier was unfortunately really unkind and unprofessional. She just stared at me and said nothing when I tried to exchange greetings like "Hi" and "how are you" and then when I said thank you at the end she just stared at me and didn't respond. Not really sure why it's that hard but I didn't feel very welcomed and like I was bothering her. The second she was done taking orders she just sits down hiding behind the cash register scrolling on her phone with the volume on. When I received my items, another girl handed it to me and I said "Thank you have a good day!" and was once again completely ignored. Not even bare minimum customer service. There was also tons of random junk in the seating area. Idk just overall a strange experience. read more

Well, I found this little cafe on Google maps after my doctors visit at UCI. I searched places to eat. I thought it was a full service cafe but its actually a type of office bldg breakroom cafe, in the basement. You order and they bring your food to your table. It's very quaint seating around 30 people total. Friendly cashier. Food is made to order. Very good and fresh. I had a BLT and it had plenty of bacon, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, just like I would have made it at home! read more

Stayed at the Double Tree next door. The restaurant was packed and the coffee place in the hotel was backed up and super slow. Found the City Tower Cafe on my phone, walked there bought coffee and a great breakfast burrito at less than half the price at the hotel. Walked back and was headed up to my room while people in the hotel coffee place line were still waiting. People at the cafe were very friendly and the food was great. read more

This cafe is so cute! It's in the basement of a nice office building. Parking is in the structure and the cafe VALIDATES the parking ticket. They open at 7AM. I got in at 7AM, ordered 6 English muffin breakfast sandwiches and they were ready within 5 minutes. So if you're looking for a place to buy breakfast before going to work, this is the place. The owner is super friendly and nice. The sandwich was delicious, fast service and validated parking. I can't wait to come back to read more

first of all, this is basically a basement cafe in a large building. everything is prewrapped in plastic and not fresh. i got a bagel sandwich and it was horrible, not properly toasted, no real flavor. it was also difficult to find if you're not working in the area. they didn't even have real creamer or half and half out for coffee. i'd go somewhere else for a good bagel sandwich or pastry with coffee. read more

The menu has a surprisingly wide assortment of sandwiches, salads, soups, bowls, etc. Nearly everything is under $10.00 which is pretty awesome. Staff is really friendly and always willing to help. I never knew this place was here, even though I used to go to this building a lot for work. It's surprisingly inviting for a cafe in the basement of an office building, and the menu was bigger than you'd expect. And it has the nicest woman working the front counter. The food was just okay. I got the Italian sub, and it was adequate but nothing more. Their potato salad is literally just potatoes mixed with mustard and mayonnaise -- I couldn't detect any other ingredients. read more

Maria and Emily are the best! They remember almost everyone's name, no matter how often you're in. The cafe is great when you don't have time for breakfast at home. They have a variety of hot foods, pastries, bagels, and breakfast burritos. The brew Starbucks, make fresh juices and many espresso drinks. It's also a very convenient place for lunch. Love this cafe! Their food is way above average for a cafeteria. They've got a great selection of muffins, bagels, salads, sandwiches, daily specials, entrees and more. Every lunch comes with a free beverage, and they have a frequent customer card so you can score a free lunch every 10 times. They accept debit and credit. There's a little wait for your food to come out, but never more than five minutes or so. The staff behind the counter is CRAZY friendly, all the time. Every single person there is so nice. My only complaints are: 1. Their chicken can be dry - maybe brine it a little? 2. The soda fountain is right next to the line, so there's always a traffic jam there between people trying to get soda and people waiting to order. The fountain should be moved elsewhere. So, this place is in the same building as my law firm. Naturally, I eat here weekly. The salads are amazing, especially the traditional cobb. The turkey wrap is excellent and most menu items come with either chips or a side salad. The dressing is also delicious. The meatball sub and steak burrito was flat out gross. You can tell the meatballs are frozen and heated up, and there was zero cheese on it. I thought, "they can't be serious?" The steak burrito is grossly under seasoned with gristle pieces in every bite, steak couldn't be more overcooked if you microwaved it for 3 days straight. Other than those things, most everything is good. Not GREAT, but good. Convenience reins supreme here, and that cobb salad of course. read more

If you come here often make sure you take advantage of their frequent buyer card. The line is pretty long during the lunch rush hour so just be warned. What I do know is that it's in the City Tower building in the basement a parking lot and one street away from the building I work in which automatically makes it one of places I eat at for lunch when I tire of the other five places within easy walking distance (Lucille's, Taco Bell, Subway, Wendy's,and Quizno's). But hey-hey! They are not only a lunch place because they also serve breakfast. Order off the regular menu, or take advantage of one of the daily specials. Call in your order and by the time you've arrived it's almost ready. Pick-up a loyalty card and you'll get points for every purchase. And thank you, thank you for the fresh fruit near the cash register. That's my jam because I try to eat some everyday. What I like is the fact that I can get a turkey bacon avocado sandwich on sourdough with no lettuce or cheese and they make it right and the bacon isn't funky. Just opened in the basement of the City Tower, this little cafe will mostly service the ample offices in the City Tower and surrounding buildings. It is the usual cafe food, mostly sandwiches and salads, and they also serves breakfast starting nice and early at 6:30am. They have a good selection of breads. The veggie sandwich is made just the way I like it and the cookies are deeeee-licious! It's nothing spectacular, but the food is good and it's a convenient location.
