Horrible horrible experience. I called them for a week trying to exchange my car- which was literally shaking and you can hear it from a block down. Finally I came in person and they told me they have no more cars. I asked for them to call me when they have cars. They didn't. I called back at the end of the week and they told me they will reserve a newer car for me. I told them that I would be there at 2 to pick it up. At 1:30 I call to make sure the car is still available and SHOcKiNGly it wasn't. They told me they have another vehicle which is "new". When I get into it, the car has 90K miles on it and no back up camera. Also the mileage was reversed. Despite giving me an unsafe vehicle that I stuck with... they wanted to charge me for gas. Overall horrible customer service, old and tainted cars, lack of organization and no remorse for anything. sTaY away! read more

Rented a Car (Heaping Pile of Junk) to see Eclipse in Kentucky, I came to Amore car rental to rent a standard car for 3 days. I had notified the receptionist that i will be going 2,000 miles and need a safe and reliable vehicle to go the distance. Amore representative charged me $20 a day on top of the standard price for extra mileage. They gave me a vehicle and assured me that it is functional in every way. The same night i left for my trip, within hours the check engine light came on. At the time it was night and i was already a far distance away. Within 24 hours the air conditioner in the car ceased to work. I had no cell phone reception, and was 1,000 miles away. It was late August and air temperatures was in the 90's. I had spent my trip miserable with a dysfunctional car in extreme humidity barely being able to sit in the car during the day. Driving back 1000 miles with no AC was pure hell! Upon arrival back i submitted to the Amore representative all the evidence in which they had failed to provide me a safe vehicle, able to take on the additional mileage they charged me for. The vehicle they rented to me was unsafe, unclean, and not what i paid for. They had also charged extra for gas, and later on put a $3,000 charge on my account with no explanation. AVOID BY ALL MEANS!!!! Renting from them is DANGEROUS, they are schemers and have no regard for human safety. read more

Started decent, deteriorated as we went, ended up at the very bottom. Avoid this place like a plague. They wouldn't allow to pre-fill the forms to save time. When my friend came in, they rushed us out. When we tried to call them from the road they said they were closing early and there wouldn't be anybody to get the truck from us, even though it was before the time was out before office closed down. When we go there to drop off the truck, guy literally shoved the gate into our faces and was beyond rude. Now they overcharged me over $108 per one day. Go to a different U-Haul location. Save your money and energy. read more

Hell on wheels. This place needs to be shut down. They rented my family a car that had been bought illegally. No VIN number car broke down and manager/owner never called us back. Car was towed to dealer turned out we were lucky car didn't burst into flames on the highway. There are so many reputable well known car rental places that I could have gone to for cheaper but I was lazy and wanted the convenience of a neighborhood place. Never ever again. It's a joke they should be closed down in about a year if not sooner. read more

Rented a Uhaul van here a couple days ago. Got charged what i was told i was going to be charged. Picked up full insurance for like $8. Everything nice and straightforward. This is a good operation ran by a good group of young adults. I would recommend renting a car from here when you might need one. read more

Perfect Experience!! Will definitely come back to this location next time and refer friends! Van was brand new and super clean! Staff is very friendly and helpful! Hassle free rental place in coney island, used them while fixing my car at a shop after an accident.

Had to rent a car through insurance for replacement. The ford I got started smoking and leaking coolant in the middle of a highway, 80 miles away from the shop. Cars break, it happens. But their handling of this situation was superb. I had to leave the car nearby where it happened and take a cab. Amore sent a tow truck with another car to where I was in Phili, free of charge. They also reimbursed the $60 cab fee. Would recommend them to anyone! read more

This place started out as a 4 star experience, but ended up as a 2 star, at best. They take reservations and had truck as reserved. No line when I came in. But, truck wasn't cleaned, and they require truck to be returned clean, as it should be. This place has small parking lot for their cars and trucks, and police feel free to issue tickets to trucks that park nearby, for "commercial" parking violations. Thats not cool at all. This place closes 5.30PM and good luck getting truck parking and avoiding ticket. When I dropped off the truck before 5pm next day, they already conveniently charged me for 2 days of rental, because supposedly uhaul called and told them to do so. I had to point out that I had 24 hours to use truck for 1 day, and asked for a printout of charges, and all of a sudden printer stopped working. Yet, It was working fine when they printed invoice the day prior. So yea, I would not be eager to rent from them ever again. read more
