Very easy and quick experience with Drivo for last minute car rental over the holiday weekend of June 19th. 1. Very fair and reasonable prices - Cheapest I've seen in the city! 2. Easy onboarding and great customer service - They texted me on the morning of mentioning a potential delay and to arrive a bit later. Other car rentals have never done this and I would have just wasted my time. 3. Accommodation - My SUV rental was running late so they gave me another car that was available asap and reduced my overall cost and gave me a discount. 4. Hospitality - Unprompted, Manager came out to greet me after I returned my car and asked how my experience was and if there is anything they can do to improve it. Absolutely unacceptable experience. I had a confirmed reservation from July 5 through July 9 with an 11:00 AM pickup. Less than two hours before my reservation, they canceled it with nothing more than a brief "sorry" text message. I called immediately, hoping they could help find a solution, but the representative was less than helpful. I was simply told they had no cars and that I should cancel my reservation. They also told me this location and the nearby locations had no cars available, period. How is a rental car company completely out of rental cars? Canceling on customers at the last minute with virtually no notice is incredibly unprofessional and completely disrupted my travel plans. I do not recommend renting a car from this location. The car was not ready when we arrived and we had to wait over an hour. In addition, there was at least one small chip in the windshield that we did not notice when we picked it up. While we had the car (probably due to the heat) the chip expanded into a crack. I did have insurance that should have covered it, but Drivo charged an excessive amount to replace the windshield and the insurance would not cover all of it, leaving me to pay almost $500. read more

This is a broad daylight scam. They are thieves. We were charged a cleaning fee of 150$ for a few empty grocery bags. They also refused to give any itemized list. Their contract states "if vehicle brought back excessively dirty or with smoking smell they will be charged a cleaning fee of up to 250$". 3 empty grocery bags are EXCESSIVE?!?!?!?! Terrible experience, first they checked my credit, never had this done with other rental companies before. 2nd i was forced to buy their insurance plan at $30p/d they failed to accept my insurance. 3rd They didn't accept my Visa credit card, the card i always use across the country. This is now the second--and absolutely the last--time I will ever rent from this company. The experience was unacceptable. Maybe, because this isn't an airport location, they operate under completely different and unreasonable rules. I was required to provide proof of full coverage insurance, and when I couldn't, I was forced to purchase their Collision Damage Waiver, at a DAILY cost that was higher than the rental itself. That alone is outrageous. Then I was told they need to perform a "soft" credit check. My credit is locked, so instead of offering a reasonable alternative, they made me pull up my credit information on Credit Karma. Completely inappropriate and unnecessary. It gets worse. Most rental companies place a HOLD on your credit card for a deposit. Not here. Drivo/ACE actually CHARGED my card and then had the audacity to say it could take up to THREE WEEKS to return MY money--despite their own contract stating it's a hold. That is misleading at best. I waited, assuming they would deduct tolls and return the remaining balance. Instead, they charged my card separately for tolls and still refused to return the deposit promptly. When I complained, I was told to wait two weeks before even requesting escalation--and up to three weeks total for a refund. Why should customers have to chase their own money for weeks when the car was returned without damage? I have already disputed this so-called "hold" with my credit card company. Based on my experience, this does not feel like an isolated issue--it seems like a pattern where deposits are quietly converted into charges and held for weeks. What makes this even more frustrating is that my first experience with ACE was completely different. I was able to use my credit card insurance, no credit pull was required, and the deposit hold was released within three business days. This inconsistency only reinforces how poorly this location is run. I will NEVER rent from this company again. Two days prior to my reservation I received a call that they did not have a car available at their DUMBO location so I needed to now go to their LGA location. All the man on the phone could say was "there's nothing I can do" and was less than helpful. When I arrived at LGA at the time of my reservation the attendant informed me that there were no cars available and did not know when the next car would arrive. I ended up cancelling my entire weekend and spent the next 3 weeks calling and emailing customer support to get my full refund, I am still dealing with their support on reimbursing me for the cab fare to and from their LGA location. Renting from Drivo has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish, save your time, energy, and money and go rent from literally anywhere else. read more

Driver BEWARE! There are hidden fees. I experienced an $89 toll charge for a one day rental from NY To PA. They hold your deposit for 30 days. When booking it says: "There is a 9.95 USD per day toll usage fee." There is no mention of the customer paying the tolls. I have never paid $89 toll pass. It usually cost approx $30 for a travel pass with another rental company. I would have never booked with this company and never will moving forward. Please beware. I booked with Ace and started receiving emails from Drivo. I spent $200 for renting a Toyota Compact car for one day...one day. How crazy is that! In this economy, I am very careful how I spend!!! I left my wallet behind yesterday and it took me one hour to return to the location to pick up my wallet. it was given to me but one problem. my 300 hundred dollar bills was taken.
