Althea's is an absolute must when in the Worcester area. I'm even hesitant to rate this hidden secret as I don't want to wait too long next time I visit. We had the eggs Benedict with salmon and delicious hand cut home fries. My friends had the Nutella Banana Crepes and an Apple Crepe both of which were delicious. The staff is friendly and efficient without rushing you. I look forward to returning soon. read more

Was excited to try breakfast/brunch here on a Sunday morning. We were told it was a 20 minute wait, left our phone number but stayed close by to hear our name. Once we waited for 50 minutes we went up and checked our name and turns out the hostess had our phone number down wrong. She also had another couples phone number wrong as well. Completely understandable mistake but they had crossed our name off the list and hadn't even tried to call our name out in the lobby. Food was really good, the Pain Perdue french toast was so delicious, hot caramel latte was great, the iced caramel latte was very watered down but i guess that's to be expected. ABSOLUTE BRUNCH PERFECTION. We arrived for brunch the Sat before Easter, almost all 13 of us. We were pleasantly greeted & seated within 30 min (they do not take reservations). Impressed already? :) The server was happy to have us and they did not seem to mind delaying ordering while we awaited some late arrivals. While we conversed, our server was attentive and kept our drinks full. We ordered and that's where this place shines. ALL of our food came out at the SAME TIME! It was gorgeous, delicious, & expertly prepared. Plates were cleared promptly and no one seemed to mind when I karate chopped a mimosa. Hahahahaha. The Irish coffee was made with watery coffee and too much whiskey. My side salad had a random banana slice in it. The eggs on my benedict were overcooked. The homefries were underdone. You also have to search for the matcha in the matcha pancakes. I do not recommend this place. read more

I've been here a couple of times before and I always enjoy it. The restaurant itself isn't that big and it's a very popular spot so they get full really fast, if you are coming here I suggest coming as early as possible especially on a Sunday. Now let's get into the food, LOVE IT! I need to start being a little more adventurous and ordering other menu items besides just steak and fries but their steak is so good I can't help it! Their omelettes are pretty good too and their portion sizes are very generous. I'm not big on mimosas because I prefer other cocktails but their mimosas were on point the last time I had them and you have the option to order different types of juices so you can try other flavors of mimosas if you are not a fan of orange juice. The staff is friendly and during the summer you have an outside patio option if the weather permits and you don't want to be inside. I would for sure recommend this place if you want a good brunch. read more

Great place for brunch! We went on a Saturday morning and were welcomed by a 10-15 minute wait. I was skeptical that it was actually only going to be 10-15 minutes due to the amount of people waiting in the hallway outside the restaurant. However, right around the 15 minute mark, our party of 4 was called. We were immediate greeted by our friendly waitress with a bottle of water and asked if we wanted anything other than water to start. We got coffee (family breakfast), but the bar drinks look really good and I can't wait to go back and try them. Our food came fast and everyone liked their selections. Wish I took pictures before, but I dug in too fast! I had the Nutella crepe, brisket Benny, iced caramel cappuccino, and a croissant! Woooowwweeee I stuffed my face. Came here based upon the reviews. Was a bit disappointed. My hash meal, for $15, consisted of two good poached eggs but both the hash and potatoes were very undercooked. More like just warmed up. The hollandaise sauce was almost nonexistent and lacked a flavor. My wife tried the breakfast poutine and said the fries were very soggy. She did not eat her meal. My daughter got a breakfast sandwich and was also unimpressed. This place had the potential to knock this one out of the park. The kitchen needs to do a better job finishing up cooking the meals. I would definitely give it another chance because of the potential but if this was one time for me, this place gets chopped... read more

Atmosphere was nice. Service was good. The water glasses were covered in a residue as well as the water carafe the waitress brought. Our forks were greasy as well. Started off not impressed. We ordered the french toast and cornbeef hash. Online the french toast had candied pecans. In house it was plain walnuts. Not bad but being given the heel for french toast made it tough and not delicious. I dont recommend it at all. The blueberries were the only thing that gave it flavor and the "chantilly cream" flat. The cornbeef hash was all potatoes with a sprinkle of cornbeef and could have used a little more hollandaise. The only reason they got 2 stars instead of 1 was for the waitress who was nice and helpful. Not worth driving too!!! read more

I'd been wanting to try this place for awhile and finally decided to stop by on a Sunday. I was pleased. Although it was rather busy, my party of two was seated quickly. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. For starters we had the apple walnut crepes and beignets. As an entree, I ordered the smoked salmon omelette. I can't remember the name of the waffles we ordered but I posted a pic below. Everything was prepared and served quickly, as well. There is no bottomless mimosa option but their mimosas are good. We were approached by a staff member and given our own large glass bottle of cold water, he also filled our glasses for us! I loved that small but nice touch. We ordered coffee which was brought quickly and was quite tasty! I informed the server of my Celiac Disease and he was awesome with pointing out what was safe for me. I was on my way to livia's dish but I heard about a relative opening altea?! I came to try it out and it was amazing. The food came out at a great timing and was also delicious, and our waiter always came to check up on us for refills on coffee! I sat near the window which opens and it just reminded me when I was overseas drinking a cup of coffee and enjoying the breeze. We woke up famished after a long evening of hardcore music and made it our mission to find a solid spot for steak & eggs. We did NOT fail this mission. Altea's had one of the best flatiron breakfast steaks I've ever had. Perfectly medium and seasoned just right. The eggs were scrambled to my delight. The meal also came with a side of potatoes I would have preferred slightly more crispy but delicious nonetheless. The waitress was a delight, full of smiles & pleasantries: she managed to stay on top of everything and did so with out an overwhelming, looming presence.
