Every single item I have ever purchased from Akira gets me endless compliments and attention! Anytime I need something cute I come here. We came to Nordstrom Rack to find reasonably priced clothing for a wedding, which they delivered on. While I was looking through the fabulous shoe selection, I must have dropped my wallet. Contents of the wallet were the standard: id, credit cards, cash ($45), but also included prescription sunglasses. The wallet itself was my mother's. After our Metro ride back to Eastern Market, I realized I didn't have my wallet. Once my initial panic subsided, I began to retrace my steps, riding the Metro back to Pentagon City. I looked, and looked, but no luck. I went back to my son's place feeling defeated. Fast forward a few months, the day before my birthday, I got a package from Nordstrom Rack at Pentagon City. I figured it was a gift from my son, remembering something I liked back in March. Well...imagine my utter surprise and astonishment to find the package contained my long lost WALLET!!!! Not only the wallet, but ALL the contents as well (YES, even the money)!! I was overjoyed!! My faith in humanity restored. WHAT a birthday present!! Disappointing and Uncomfortable Customer Service Experience…read moreI recently visited Zara at Pentagon City to return two pairs of jeans I had purchased online, and I left feeling incredibly uncomfortable, disrespected, and quite frankly, singled out. When I approached the register, the associate did not greet me, acknowledge me, or offer even the most basic courtesy. I already had my return QR code ready, and rather than verbally asking for it, she simply gestured for me to show it to her. Throughout the entire transaction, she remained silent, scrunched up her face while looking at the screen, and offered absolutely no communication about what she was doing. The only words she managed to say were, "You can leave." I was genuinely taken aback and responded, "Excuse me?" Only then did she clarify that my receipt would be emailed. When I told her that her behavior was rude, she simply smiled. What made this experience even more upsetting was hearing her warmly greet the very next customer as I walked away. Clearly, she was capable of being pleasant and welcoming, which left me questioning why I was treated so differently. I genuinely enjoy Zara's fashion and frequently shop online because it's convenient, especially when navigating inconsistent sizing. However, experiences like this make me reconsider where I choose to spend my money. I cannot speak to this associate's intentions, but the stark difference in treatment felt discriminatory and left me feeling unwelcome. No customer should have to question whether they deserve basic courtesy when walking into a store. I recognize that someone's disposition is ultimately a reflection of them, not me, but that doesn't excuse the behavior. Zara should be mindful of the experience its associates create for customers, because the way people are treated matters just as much as the merchandise being sold.

However, when I returned to my hotel that night and took off the sticker that lists the size, it peeled off and part of the design on the shirt came off: specifically the text that read "DC." Kind of a disappointment, and I couldn't return it because I didn't have any time. There's a good selection, though, and the non-apparel stuff seemed pretty good.
