Alquist Arms is the only place I will go for firearms. Bobby is the Owner and has dedicated this shop to CA shooters and giving the best deal possible. I would trust them for all of my shooting needs. They post most of their special items and sales on their FaceBook site and it's the best way to keep up with what's hot and instock. You can also ask question there and get reliable answers in a reasonable time. www.facebook.com/AlquistArms read more

I showed up to the store and I was oblivious to the signs that say "no masks are allowed". I accidentally wore my mask out of courtesy. I then went up to a gentleman, I didn't catch his name, and asked him do you guys have any 9mm and he said "Nope" with a condescending tone. As I was talking to him I was wearing a mask and he then proceeded to lecture me that every time anybody has a mask on it makes him just wanna pull his gun because it makes him nervous and then started to touch something along his waist. Overall the experience was horrible and I would recommend anyone who is of color to stir clear of this place. Maybe if I was white I would have received better customer service. read more

Alquist Arms is a fantastic gun store, ran by great people. Prices here are hard to beat anywhere, service is excellent. I've been coming here both pre and post COVID19, while many gun shops were price gouging for guns and ammo, Alquist did not price gouge, I have proof, late last year, I bought a box of hard to find ammo (.44mag) at another store, 2 days later, I found the exact same ammo for half price at Alquist! Keep up the great work! read more

Best gun shop in Stanislaus County. Got my Gen 3 Glock 23 brand new out the box from here. Very friendly staff. Excellent stock in ammo and prices aren't too shabby either. Ordered online, went to shop to take FSC that same day and they gave me my order slip plus pick up day for my glock. 10 days later, low and behold, I arrive to pick up my firearm and the wait was literally only 15 minutes. Ofcourse I made sure to go on a Tuesday in the morning so that might have been a reason for the super speedy service. Best $540 investment I've made so far. I always go to Alquist arms for anything needed. read more

Alquist Arms - Glock 23 Gen3 I purchased 1 year ago today. - Guns & Ammo Near Me - Turlock, California

Their original location was great but this new location has horrible service. First off they have a silly take a number system that sucks. When a store only has two or three customers and they make you grab a number. What a joke! I have also witnessed them treat customers like poo when the customer is only seeking out simple information. I still walk in from time to time witness this same behavior and to remind myself why I shop elsewhere. read more

This is the absolute best place to purchase a firearm! They without question have the best prices in the Stanislaus/San Juaquin area. Great friendly staff, they communicate well with all customers. If you do the research you will find they have the lowest prices. If there are any negatives it's the fact that they get to busy and you have to wait a bit for help, but maybe that's a testament of how good they are. read more

Alquist Arms - Guns & Ammo Near Me - Turlock, California

These folks are GREAT! About a decade ago a peace officer friend told me about Alquist Arms saying alot of law enforcement personnel frequented the place. When I went to check them out I found they had a larger selection of firearms than any gun store Ive ever seen in Northern Ca. I was also pleasantly surprised to find they significantly beat prices of the other shops and the guys there really know their $hit. Its run by a father and son, and they as well as all the other guys have always been very friendly and helpful. Because of all this, a couple friends and myself have bought a number of guns from them and also used them for p2p transfers read more

Owner was nice but workers are really rude and laughed at me every question I asked. Terrible customer services and the guy with the beard was making very uncomfortable and how I was getting treated I don't know if it's cause I'm a person of color or what. Please save your money and go to Atwater stage. read more

Do not do business with alquist arms. Four months ago I ordered a p938 and was told it would be in within 2 weeks, 4 weeks later I reversed the charges and went down to PRK in Fresno. Yes, PRK is more expensive (about 8 percent more across the board) but they usually have a better inventory and can order and deliver faster. Because I believe in supporting local business; I gave Alquist a second chance and ordered a Springfield xds... I was told I could DROS within the week; more lies and delays. Two weeks later I was finally allowed to DROS, and they put me (the whitest guy you have ever met) down as Vietnamese on the form. I was told that it wasn't important and to just sign the paperwork. After a phone call with the CA DOJ, I was informed that by signing the form I committed a misdemeanor which will be investigated. Thank God Prk arms is opening a store here in Turlock; atleast when I buy a gun from them I don't get investigated by the CA DOJ! read more

Rude and Racist - if you are white you may get better service! Owners son was rude, dismissive and very unhelpful! Worst experience ever and in any store in my whole life! Will never go back! Save your money and go somewhere with better customer service! read more

This is a great place to buy a gun. Wish I heard of them sooner, though. I bought my first gun elsewhere in the central valley, and a week later, I found these guys on facebook selling the same gun for $40 cheaper! Love how they keep updated prices (usually cheaper than other shops) on their facebook page and are quick to respond to inquiries. I finally visited the new shop today, and it was overall a good experience. It's really helpful that the prices of each handgun are visible, so you don't need to ask about each gun like some other places. Yes, it was busy the whole time during my visit, but their number system is very helpful. Once I was being helped, the whole paperwork/buying process was smooth and quick. They also sponsor events and donate guns for raffles to support groups like the American Mining Rights Association. read more

They are the best from prices that can not be beat to service. All of the staff is awesome and very willing to help. They are also the best when occasional things go wrong. They will make a wrong right. I was just involved with an order that went wrong but they offered a solution exceeding my expectations. Good Job!!! read more

Since they are closed on Monday, it makes Tuesday is a little busy. Wednesday and Thursday are usually not as busy. Because of their low prices, crowds can gather. As other said, look carefully right inside the door for the 'take a number' tab. They do take trade-ins and their one guy that does those transactions is there most days. You can check their website online chat feature for instant answer to questions, like is this a good day to bring a trade in. You can also buy online in advance, including ammunition. Never had any problem with this gun store. :) read more

Alquist has a friendly informative staff. The prices are very competitive. The staff is very organized even when it is busy. The old school number system works very well read more

Two great stores with a full line of guns and equipment in stock. Fair pricing and good service. They are in the customer service business and it shows. read more

I bought my first gun here & the staff was very helpful with my questions. I obviously went shopping around looking a different prices but decided to get my weapon here as their prices are very good. People say it gets busy (I've never seen it the few times I've been there), but there's atleast 4 employees waiting to be of help. Will definitely keep returning read more

Slow, but very good service. Make sure to pull a number before you come in, so that you can get service. Great selection of firearms, and accessories. Very knowledgeable staff, and willing to answer all your questions. read more

I've been buying guns from Richard and Bobby for 15 or 20 years now and they're still the best. Great prices and better service. Absolutely the best place I've ever done business with. And I mean all businesses. Not just gun stores. read more

I just received my first covid shot and was wearing my mask to protect and respect others. I waited in line at the door for 20 minutes to be called in and while there noticed a sign prohibiting the wearing of a mask. I have some friends that have lost there lives to covid and find it difficult to believe that a gun shop is so unpolitically correct that they cannot protect the public. So, if you want to object yourself to a closed room with employees not willing to protect you, this is the place. I turned around and walked out without buying the pistol scope I'd wanted. These people need to follow the science! read more

These guys are always awesome! john and Richard were very friendly and helpful. I felt they were very thankful for my support of their business. read more

This place has a great variety of guns and ammo but the way I was treated by a employee there just made me hate the place. Never will I go back extremely rude and unprofessional. read more

After searching online for weeks, I wound up on Alquist Arms web page. They had exactly what I was looking for. I made the purchase on their web site which was very straight forward and easy. Next day I received an email that my order was ready and to come in. I drove 85 miles from Hayward to Turlock to do my paperwork. Richard, who I now know is the owner is a really nice guy and extremely helpful and pleasant. The shop is run well and during covid, only 3 people in at a time for service as I noticed. Prices are very good compared to a lot of other places that are over charging during the pandemic. I will definitely be shopping at Alquist for future puchases eventhough I have to drive for and hour and a half to get there. read more

Buyer Beware!!! 95380 So I went to Alquist Arms today to pick up something that I had purchased about 10 days ago. I called ahead of time and spoke with the owner who assured me that what I had paid for 10 days ago was ready to be picked up. I drive directly there after work, which took me an hour and a half due to traffic and I arrived about 10 minutes before closing. I am then told that they need proof of residency. And no, My drivers license was not good enough. The bills that I have in my name, are not written exactly like it is on my license. I could however give them a rental agreement, which my roommate who mind you was in the middle of working, dropped what he was doing and was in the process of getting the rental agreement to me as quickly as he possible could. While I am in the process of trying to get this resolved, the owner is pacing back and forth and saying how he has been working all day and how he has a long drive to get home and how he has stops to make before he gets home and how he has to be at work tomorrow for hours and how he is only making $40 off of my purchase. I began to speak to him about how this could have all been avoided if he had just told me the issue before I arrived. He proceedes to tell me that informing me ahead of time would have been a waste of his time and effort. Like this whole fiasco wasn't??? I told him that I would like a refund and that I would not be back and that I would tell as many people as possible not to shop there, to which he replied "that's okay, I already have too much business". read more

Fair prices and good service compared to other valley gun stores. Usually well stocked.

This gun shop has the best firearm prices of any shop around! Customer service is awesome. There used to be quite a wait before you were helped, due to the volume of people but since they closed their other location and added to their staff I haven't had to wait very long. I wont go anywhere else! read more

I drove 1 hour and 20 mins to this place because they had the best deal that I was looking for. Great customer service. Really friendly people that knows their stuff! It was worth the drive and experience! Will go back for more service! read more

They were not very accomodating for FFL transfers. Did not seem patient with any basic questions. I just felt like a waste of their time, which is not fun especially having driven 30+ miles to be brushed off as an annoyance. Law Enforcement would be wise to try another shop for off-roster equipment. The older man was kind and understanding, but he is not the owner. I can't comprehend how they get so many raving reviews. The two times I had visited have both been poor experiences. Maybe these were off days for them. If you don't know exactly what you want or how to get it, they don't have time for you. That was my experience at least. I don't feel like I was rude at all to be treated that way. read more

Best and cheapest gun store around!! It is well worth the drive to come see. Pull a number on your way in and be patient because they do get very busy and sometimes it may take a while to get to you. Only bad thing about it is that there is nowhere to sit and wait so you have to walk around the store with a whole bunch of people just standing around. Or... You can avoid the hassle and go Wednesday or Thursday they are usually very slow and you will be helped as soon as you walk in. I buy all my guns from Bobby. The staff are all very knowledgeable and friendly. They can order a gun for you just in case they don't have the one that you are looking for in stock but keep in mind you are at the mercy of the dealers and shippers on a timeline, usually they receive the special orders within a week so I wouldn't worry. I will never go anywhere else for any of my gun needs. Thanks Bobby!! read more

The prices are awesome. But the wait is horrible. Lots and lots of selections and varieties of anything you would need for ur guns. If I can find prices like these somewhere else I would shop elsewhere but I guess I'll just have to wait like everybody else. read more

Great selection, great prices. If it's something you haven't been able to find in stock at other shops or is generally hard to find or get chances are they will have it or can get it and at a fair price. The only reason I did not give a 5 star review was due to their lack of customer service and or appreciation. Made to feel like cattle the way they herd you through, not very personable, and if you want them to take the time to answer your questions and offer advice this is not the place. Just not a friendly vibe. read more

Great store! Huge selection, great service, the best price (we shopped) & everything you need to accessorize & maintain your fire arms.

Excellent personalized service. Casual and relaxed atmosphere. Looking forward to going back for more. Both locations in Turlock are Professional & Informative. Was able to receive information for a first time Gun owner that is useful. read more

It's quite a drive to go down to Turlock but this place is well worth it. Great selection on both handguns and long guns which are mainly brand new at this location. Quite a bit of wait as well to be serviced. Do remember to pull a number tab before you go in even if you just wanted to look around as you will need it if you want them to pull an item out of the display case. GREAT prices on most of their items and as of right now, in-store purchases have a sales tax of 7.63%. If you have a pricey item to buy and Alquist has it, it is normally discounted in price plus you pay a lower sales tax. Btw, you can also park on the street before you turn into their lot. Funny how people are waiting in their cars for other cars to back out and the street is open for only 25 more steps. read more

I have been here a few times looking at the rifles they have. The first couple of visits, the customer service was something to be desired but lately the service was nothing but great. The staff are knowledgeable and respectful. They have a huge variety of shotguns, handguns, botl action rifles and semi auto rifles. They are the only place I know of in the Turlock area that stock Otis cleaning systems. read more

Got my rifle here the first time I went there I got great customer service from a guy by the name of John. Great guy really knew what he was talking about and informed me about everything I needed to know. The second time I was there the guy that was helping me process my paper work wasn't so helpful kinda seemed like he didn't want to help actually but maybe he just wasn't havering a good morning lol. Overall a good experience other than the grump that was helping me the second time. read more

They continue to provide top-notch customer service! I wasn't truly satisfied with the performance of a rifle that I had bought from them, and they offered to check it out for free, even though they didn't have to. They have a wide variety of firearms and accessories. There are two locations, the other one is small with limited variety, but usually what the smaller shop doesn't have, this location does. They have some good deals. I bought a Smith & Wesson for concealed carry and I love it. Some of the staff aren't too friendly, but they are all really knowledgeable. Expect to wait; Grab a number and look around. Usual wait time is 15 minutes, if not longer. read more
