The employee on duty provided exceptional service, spending considerable time helping me browse through various sections. He went above and beyond by recommending that I follow their Instagram page, where they post incoming inventory that becomes available in the store the very next day. I am so glad I finally went in. The owner, Don, was knowledgable, helpful and friendly. You don't quite know what you are going to encounter when you enter a place of business for the first time, but here it was all good. No, make that GREAT. His record collection is extensive, pristine and well-organized. He talked to me about many of the albums I was considering, filing in the gaps in my knowledge -- and he was really nice about it, not condescending. Also, I thought his prices were quite good. I bought many records for $5 ..... one for $25 ..... he had some collectibles that were in the hundreds and he eagerly explained why that was. There is something here for all tastes and every pocketbook. He had a record there that I paid far more for on Ebay. His daughter helps him in the store and she is delightful. They will send you records in the mail, too. He mentioned that he has a wide range of music -- lot of hard to find classical, among other genres. I will definitely stop by again and would not hesitate to email him if I want something special. Thanks, Don. The rest of the store is priced fairly, and this location has a large parking lot. There is no public restroom inside, and your hands will get dirty from flipping through everything, so plan ahead if you want to spend time browsing through their huge selection. The staff were helpful and friendly. I do wish they carried a little more books and video games, because I did find some but was only just a handful. I appreciated that they had a small selection for Asian media.

I specifically asked the employee at the register if it was a monthly charge, and he assured me it wasn't. He was a nice and friendly kid, so I didn't push back at the time. That was my mistake for taking him at his word and believing it was an earned points club like at Old Navy, Famous Footwear, etc. In hindsight, I still cant really say if the kid knows he is selling subscriptions, or if he genuinely believes it's an earned points system. Also, canceling the subscription was a pain because of course customer service is handled out of country by an automated systems that make it nearly impossible to speak to anyone. I had to eventually just put a "stop payment" via my credit card company. This is a bummer review because I really wanted to like FYE. But I will never shop here again. Back to Mad Monk I go.
