One thing i was surprised about was that the store owner sells Gunpla (Gundam model kits). He has a small selection of Gunpla but you can tell him what you want and he will get it for you in 3 days depending what day you tell him and his prices are good on gunpla, as for prices on the RC stuff i am not sure, you would have to pop in and see prices for yourself. I will admit the store does need a lil tidy up here and there but the store owner who runs it does it by himself and he is older too, looks like he can use some help. Definitely stop by and check it out

Great record store in Downtown Merced. We were up visiting family in the CV and staying in town so…read morewe checked out what they got and were pleasantly surprised, really eclectic collection, some extremely rare pieces and good finds. Look, owner knows their stuff so you're likely not going to find a OOP rarity for $5 but having collected for some time what I can tell you is compare against what you'd pay for the same title on eBay or discogs and then factor in shipping (which you won't pay at the store) and you are getting good prices on the records in the shop. I walked out with 3 records, 2 live albums I've wanted for a minute and could not have been more happy. If you're into vinyl, tapes, CDs, DVDs, check them out. Great record store!

I had a question about my account and her reaction showed that I was basically bothering her. Loudly sighed at me with irritation and rolled her eyes when I didn't know my account number. Then she couldn't even answer my question. She referred to me to coworker beside her who was awesome (didn't get her name). I also heard Lisa on the phone with another person and she was also very rude and unprofessional with them. Hard to believe she is allowed to deal with the public. Nobody should be treated or talked to that way.

Think Anthropologie with a Western flare and elements of Zara built in through their basics…read moreselection. As a country girl turned city, I shop designer stores in the Bay Area. I love Sezane, Paige, Anthropologie, etc., but I can often find similar styles and quality at Sitting Pretty. So when I get the chance to drive over to Chowchilla, I definitely do! While designer stores charge $200+ per item, clothing pieces here are $25-45. I'm quite picky because I like sleek, polished looks; clothing that isn't loud, but in its own way is unforgettable. It could be a black top with a scalloped neckline - unique and not something you can easily find elsewhere. Yet soft, comfortable and easy to wash. The customer service here is top notch too. They are so friendly and attentive; always smiling - that good old Valley charm and hospitality you can't quite find elsewhere. I love that I never have to carry my clothes around because they consistently check in with me. You don't have to go to a designer store to receive designer-level customer service or quality clothing. I've definitely gotten many compliments on my clothes and women asking where I bought them. I chuckle and tell them I bought them from this little town called Chowchilla from a boutique called Sitting Pretty. Strange that such a gem exists where no one would ever expect it to, but hoping Sitting Pretty is around for a very long time. Last, but certainly not least, they source their own clothing and they frequently change. So if you like something, buy 2 of them. If you didn't find something you like that day (this never happened to me), come back a different week because all the clothes will be different.

They saw us walk in yet did not verbally acknowledge us. We browsed, oohed and ahhed over some of the cute tops, and eventually found ourselves near the front counter. At this point the customer finished and left. Still, no greeting or anything from either employee. There was no one else in the store. After they finished their conversation, the older employee went to the back. We continued shopping until finally I looked up and loudly said to the remaining employee: "Good morning, how are you?". She responded and STILL didn't ask if we needed assistance, if we were finding everything okay, if we had questions about any of their products, or anything! We couldn't believe how unprofessional both employees were. They obviously didn't need our business so we left. We try very hard to support local businesses. But when the employees treat us like we are invisible and aren't good enough to greet us when we enter their establishment or offer shopping assistance, then that business clearly does not want our money.
