The prices in this store are extremely high. The instruments and amplifiers in there can be bought online for a fraction of the cost. Don't waste your money. Try reverb.com, guitar center, ebay, etc. The guitars I found in there can be bought for literally half the price elsewhere. read more

Dale is a really nice guy. We have been coming to him for years and trusted him very much. We recently bought some guitar strings from him and believed they were the right size and brand. We had the opportunity for someone who specializes in guitars and guitar repair take a look at our guitar and to our surprise he told us not only were they fakes/ knock off but they were also not the size as detailed on the package. We are extremely disappointed to have paid what we did for strings that may have harmed our guitar. I don't believe we can trust his products anymore sadly. read more

I don't live in Turlock but needed my guitar & bass fixed. I called Guitar Center (bad idea to begin with) and they had zero techs on staff. So I called Dale's and of course he was able to fix them. He also didn't charge anything for the repairs so I picked up a few other things I needed. Will definitely take on the drive again if I need anything. 10/10 read more

Funny that this popped up on here. I can't truly attest to the quality of the business within. I've seen and am aware of it's location, and should I ever had the need to visit a store of this type, Dale's would have been the first store I visited. However, through a recent encounter via Facebook, I was blocked for asking a question because a post of theirs didn't line up with the end result. It had to do with a contest where they were giving away 3 pairs of tickets and only had 2 winners. I asked about the other pair, and they said it was given in pairs of 3. I simply suggested that the post should have been worded differently and thanked them for responding to my post. Not long after I was blocked by the page and the comments between us were deleted. Petty stuff, but leaves little interest in ever visiting the store. read more

Dale has supplied my kids and grand kids with major instruments over the years..and kids being rough and using some as defensive tools dale has put them back together..I truly believe my daughters guitar was done ..fell from roof and landed on its bottom the neck was straight up..it pushed the plugs thru the inside..dale recrafted the wood and fixed it..good as new.. love the owner always happy to greet you... read more

Great service, they know their guitars. Are not pushy at all, always willing to answer questions. Large selection of guitars over 300 guitars on-site. I was able to find a Flying V style guitar that most guitar stores including guitar center in Modesto do not have. Look forward to purchasing my next guitar there. I went here to buy a strap for my guitar and then I'm walking through the store and I went to the register to go pay for the strap,Dale the owner comes down the stairs from the second floor and he starts yelling at me because he thought I was trying to steal the strap and he yelled,"TAKE THAT OUT OF YOUR POCKET",and I was scared and I kept saying I didn't steal anything ?Then he keeps saying and telling me things,I was so scared and shocked that I was assumed for stealing and the employee that was helping me looked so embarrassed because Dale had just gone off on me for something I didn't do.This was one of the worst experiences in my entire life,I will never come back here again. read more

My 14 year old son is learning to play the guitar. As a result his electric guitar has taken quite the beating. We were in need of new strings and machine heads. Went into Dale's to make the purchase as they were the closest to our home. The gentleman that helped us was very polite when making the sale however, unfortunately, the machine heads did not match his guitar once we got home and tried them. I went in to return them and was told I had to return the strings as well and then repurchase them since they were all on the same transaction. I didn't have the strings with me and asked if they could just pull the ones of the wall and ring those. The owner said no. He could not. When I explained I'd never heard of such a problem he pointed out they "have a no refund policy so we'll just take that route then". So my 14 year old son is out of $35 of his hard earned allowance. We were looking into lessons there but I will not be going back. read more
