Unfortunately, my recent experience at Langlois Music Co was disappointing due to their outdated return policy. In today's market, where most reputable music retailers offer reasonable return or exchange options, their no refunds (or exchange) policy makes it difficult to justify purchasing gear here. I bought some speaker cables that turned out to not be an option for me. I hadn't even used them and they still wouldn't let me return or offer to exchange them or even store credit. Very odd. The staff was courteous, but policies matter, and this one ultimately pushes me away from advocating local in this case. I'm sharing this so other musicians are aware before making a purchase. I hope the store modernizes this policy in the future, because I'd prefer to support a local shop rather than a big box store or online retailer.

I waited patiently for 1 1/2 hours to sell my cool guitar. I think it should have been worth more because it was 20 years old, pristine condition, and left-handed, but after I waited there such a long time I figured I just wanted to get out! They have to wait on people who are paying customers before they will wait on anybody else. Makes sense...BUT...My tip would be to have a completely separate area where one person is doing all the buying. That's very logical and should happen immediately. I saw people get frustrated and leave. If you plan to go to this place, pack your patience!

He's also extremely knowledgeable about many styles of music and music theory and recommends a number of resources -- books, podcasts, videos, etc, during and outside-of lessons, to support my learning. Roger and I get along really well, so I always look forward to our lessons! Taking virtual lessons with Roger has been fantastic. His studio has multiple camera angles, with one that provides a birds-eye view of his keyboard.
