Came to this store today to get some Sights installed on my Glock and the owner disassembled it and threw the parts in my safe like if it did not cost my hard earned money and when he was finished he threw my fire arm like it was a piece of garbage back on the table ...what a total disrespect .. idk if it's because he thought I wouldn't be able too defend my self or for whatever reason he decided too pick on me for possibly me being Hispanic .. I don't want too throw in the race card but .. I did not say nothing to this guy but who ever he is this is bad service I been too plenty of other gun stores and had never had this done to me but what ever comes around goes around for sure read more

Fred is an ass, grumpy and unsociable, came in to do a transfer. All he could talk about if we used his website that walk-ins were not acceptable. While he sat there on his butt with no customers other customers in the shop, but he would do us a favor by letting us do the paperwork online. Such an arrogant ass along with has gunsmith, so much for a return visit. Off to Riverbank to a gun shop that knows how to treat people like they matter! Complain that transfers make little, so now he makes less with no further purchases and passing this experience on to others. read more

Avoid Fred's Firearms! Bought a gun from Fred's on GunBroker. He completely misrepresented the condition of the gun. Called him to try to resolve the problem but he wouldn't make it right. Said I could return the gun but would have to pay a restock fee + return shipping + original shipping & fees. No Thanks. I'd be out over $100 with nothing to show for it. What a shady deal. I left him a bad review on GunBroker and he retaliated with bad feedback on me - even though I bought and paid for his rusty/pitted gun. Unprofessional. Down right rude! Went to see about a gun I purchased to see why it hadn't came in yet (12 days later) and all I needed was just a simple answer as to why it was taking so long. Not rude in anyway I was very polite and the wife Jennifer starts getting rude and snapping then her husband joins in and starts puffing his chest out to my brother like he wants to fight and I had no idea why? Just a simple "oh it takes a while shipping around the holidays" or something but the last words I got was "here is a refund so you can be someone else's problem?" Crazy right? I know a lot of military personnel and gun pens in the area and none of which will step foot in this shop! Freds is a great spot for your firearms needs. He is very helpful and a down to earth guy. Him and his wife do a good job of staying communicative with times and products shipping. Even when fred is not at the shop, he has a very knowledgable friendly staff in Dave, who has a lot of firearms knowledge,especially in reloading ammo, and is always very helpful in a good way. Where as many gun store guys can be pushy and downright rude, this is not the case with freds staff. He has a wide selection of gear and very competitive prices. Ive been going to fred for over 3.5 years now and will continue to do so as he has always been more than a pleasure to do business with. read more

Recently my wife and I bought a gun at Fred's and signed up with his Firearms Instructor, Jeff Reed to get qualified for our CCW. We took the two day class recently and were extremely impressed with the class. If you are contemplating taking the Firearms Safety Course to obtain your CCW, definitely recommend Jeff Reed's class. There were about 25 people in the class and Jeff was super informative in the classroom as well as on the live range. Safety was his number one priority and him and his assistants provided great training. He really made the class fun and interesting. I would absolutely recommend Fred's Firearms and Jeff Reed for any instruction. They're awesome! read more

Very knowledgable when it came to knowing what gun is legal for purchase in California. They also took the time to help me out even tho my purchase wasn't made here. Friendly atmosphere. It looks like they're just starting out. Not a whole lot of handgun selections yet and long guns are also limited.

What started off as a simple purchase of 2 firearms turned into an absolute nightmare. I was sold a pistol that WAS NOT on the approved list for California. The services that were to be provided, that I paid additional money for, also were not provided. In the end, an exchange was made for a different firearm. I had to make 3 additional trips at 70 miles a round trip with gas at $4.05 a gallon. And all I was compensated was a cheap box of ammunition. Both Jennifer and Fred were extremely rude to my wife and I not only in person but also on the phone. When the transaction was over and I asked for a new receipt I was told to cease contact. I tried 1 additional time to contact by email for my receipt and was informed that any further communications needed to be forwarded to the Oakdale Police Department, as I was harassing them. Absolutely absurd. I will NEVER do business with them again and suggest that you do the same. I contacted DOJ and turned them over for selling HIGH CAPACITY MAGAZINES to me.
