Called Alpine two weeks ago because the vent fan in our attic stopped working. The woman on the phone, Rachel, was a bit rude and told me that since we don't have an air conditioner, we would have to wait until everyone calling in with broken air conditioner units had been helped. The earliest appointment was Friday, this was a Monday. I took the appointment because all other places were too busy to answer the phone. I should add right now that the temperature has been in the high 90's for the last couple weeks due to an intense heat wave. I have two young kids and an old dog and our house has been reaching 90 degrees inside by the end of the day. The technician, Chris, came out and told me that he'd have to replace the fan because the blades fell off (this was apparent when he pulled the blades off. He said they'd have to find a replacement and order it, and that he would probably be back the following Monday to complete the work. On Monday I spoke with Rachel again and she told me that Chris is really busy and won't be able to come back out until the following Monday (today). Considering that I had already asked them to order the part and everything, I agreed and we sweated the week away in an extremely hot house. Today, Monday, I received a call from Rachel at 1pm. Chris was scheduled to come at 1:30pm, and Rachel informed me that he was "busy on an emergency call" and wanted to know if he could come the next morning at 7 or 7:30 am. Again, I have two young children, who wake up after 7am. My family is also finishing our move and we were planning on getting a U-Haul and finishing our move after the 1.5 hours of work was scheduled to be completed at 3pm. After Rachel explained that it was probably hot in our attic (no, really???) and said he wouldn't be able to come out for a few hours, I still didn't agree to a 7am appointment the next morning, and Rachel agreed to see if there was another service tech available, and said she would call me back. At this point I was enraged that the other service tech hadn't been contacted over the last 2 weeks to get the work done. I waited 20 minutes and didn't hear back from Rachel or anyone at Alpine, and I decided to call around. I phoned two highly and well reviewed companies in the area and both said the same thing - they can't complete the work and I need to call an electrician! I was extremely upset and called Rachel back to cancel the work order. She wasn't too cooperative with my request and told me that the technician was "on the way" (this was at 1:30pm, remember). I asked if the technician was a certified electrician because the other companies had told me this, and she was upset and confused and told me that it was "just replacing a fan" and insisted that I didn't need an electrician. I clarified that the technician was currently on the way and she said yes, he was just picking up the part from the warehouse on his way here. I, against my guts, agreed to have them come and complete the job. What can I say? It's been really hot and I want my fan working after all this. An hour and a half later the technician (not Chris... Tyler?) called to say he was about to head over. He finally got here sometime between 3 and 3:30. He worked for an hour and then told me what I now gather untrue, that the fan had a bad motor and they would have to bring another one. He assured me that they have the parts in stock and would be able to complete the job tomorrow morning. Very strange, they had to order the fan last time. Alright, I politely sent him on his way because he obviously can't install the fan so I don't need the dude in my house. Rachel then called me to inform me that... wait for it... I NEED TO CALL AN ELECTRICIAN. TWO other companies told me this over the phone. The receptionists told me without even asking anyone. Alpine kept me waiting for TWO WEEKS and sent TWO TECHNICIANS to my house on TWO SEPARATE VISITS, and argued with me on the phone insisting they could complete the work that I was right to think they couldn't do. I've literally never dealt with a company like this. read more

I called Alpine over the holidays when my furnace stopped working. The technician they sent (James) was super knowledgeable, figured out the issue quickly and fixed it no problem. I had another issue with the gas valve 6 months later and he was also able to figure out the issue and get the part to fix it within 24 hours. I was really impressed with the work, the knowledge and the prices were very fair. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone needing to repair their furnace. read more

My furnace stopped working over the holidays. Called Alpine, and Rachel, who I spoke with was helpful, friendly and super accommodating! She was able to get someone out to see me the same day. James, the technician was prompt and courteous-- got here as soon as he could and was able to diagnose the problem within a couple minutes. He even explained to me the inner machinations of my heating unit and showed me the burned out element that needed to be replaced. He was in and out in no time, and did an expert job. I'm not usually so impressed with service appointments, but my experience with Alpine was so positive, I couldn't help but share. Awesome service from the time I called to the service I got. I had a leak in the AC condenser and Drew came out the same day and was able to diagnose the problem. He was very thorough and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. Even though I decided to do the simple fix myself, he gave me some good advice and a few small parts to finish the job. He did a thorough check of the system and topped up the unit with a little freon and was on his way. Office manager who took my call was super friendly as well. Needed a new heat pump and Drew came out and explained everything in detail. He was very patient with all my questions and did seem rushed at all. He said I really didn't need a new inside air ex changer like ALL the other service who were giving me bids. He check with Eweb to make sure that they would approve Drew's decision, which they did. I was going to get the loan from Eweb program so there were some other requirements that let me know about before he did any of the work. Gave me all the costs up front and was very competitive. All work was done as promised by a super staff of individuals. Why aren't more businesses handled this way. All his worker were super nice and efficient. Drew and Alpine are great and I highly recommend them to anyone this need heating or cooling work done. Thank you Drew for making us feel warm and cool again and I don't just mean in the equipment.
