Marshalls has been our heater and A/C for maybe twenty or more years. installing a heat pump and maintenance of heater and A/C. In that time they replaced one heat pump and installed a second pump. The service department is the weak link in this company. Phone calls to make an appointment with the service department can go unanswered for hours. Leaving your phone number with a message to call back is futile. This problem has persisted for years and does not get better. Pointing out that problem doesn't change anything. Even to the service manager. The only bright spot of this department has been the technician Jeff Allen who has been great. He is an asset to this company. I can no longer recommend this company. read more

I'm done with Marshall's. Last year, I had yearly service done and asked the guy to bring me replacement filters. He brought the wrong size. (They had installed and done yearly service on my unit for over a decade). I discovered the problem last Fall. They would NOT deliver the correct size. I had to go pick it up. Yesterday afternoon, me heater my heater stopped working. I called at 3:45PM and they told me all the service lines were busy. They would call me back. Knowing they closed at 5PM, I called them back at 4:45PM. Still busy. Finally called me back at 5PM; only to, tell me that maybe Monday they could come out. I had another company here within 2,hours. I won't be using marshall's ever again. read more

First of all, trying to schedule, I couldn't get her to try & give me a closer proximity of time to give me a heads up to when they would be there other than a 5 hour window. I tried to explain that I will be coming from about a 25 minute driving distance but to no avail. 5 hour window! It was like pulling teeth. Really? for a gas FP check up & possible fix. Not even xfinity does that. I think that the service was alright, but they over charge. 200 for almost nothing. In my books that's a bit much. Also, the service guy was cordial but I had a heck of time trying to get him to respond to my questions. He gets 3 stars for OK. read more

I was getting quotes for crawlspace insulation and of the FIVE companies who came out, they were the only one who said that my crawlspave entry was "too small" and they wouldn't be able to provide a quote. I obviously chose a different company for the job, but they lost out on a good $6,000+. I got what I needed regardless but I wouldn't have even had them come out had I known this would be their response. read more

I would give NO stars if possible. We had Marshall's come out for an estimate, and, due to work we were having done on the house at the time, the guy that came out did not enter our house and told me to call back when the current work was done so they could return to give us an estimate. When I called back to make a new appointment, I was told the guy had made a note in our file that our crawlspace was too small and they would not be providing an estimate for us nor doing the job. He had neither accessed nor looked at the crawlspace. When I tried to explain this to the woman who answered the phone, she YELLED, "What do you want me to do about it?!" at me. I emailed the owner about the situation and never heard back. I don't recommend working with Marshall's unless you want to be yelled at, lied to, and ignored. read more

Called to have work done on system. Showed the guy a video of what it was doing and he replaced the fan. He had to order the part $119. The part came about four days later and it was installed. Fast turn around, great. After he installed it, I was not sure but I thought it did the exact same thing it were doing prior. (It was making a banging noise) when he installed it he also did not fully seal the system and was wind noise. $498 Very next day the fan kicked on and it was in fact doing the exact same thing. I called and was told they would look at it for half the normal diag price. What? I already paid for this exact same issue so be diaged once. After telling them I would not be paying it again they caved and said I won't have to pay that.... Or would I? The manager came out seven days later and honestly appeared to know the issue within seconds. Faulty relay. I was "discounted" $119 on my itemized receipt for the diag. Replaced the the switch with a part number T840029. Mind you this is your everyday run of the mill relay that costs $8-$20. My charge? $130 Did I HAVE to replace my fan? Nope. Issue remained after the replacement. In the end I was charged a total of $747 in unnecessary fan replacement and over charges to compensate for their additional time fixing the issue with a $10 part. Tread with caution. Marshalls is interested in lining their pockets first and foremost and gauging the customer as much as they are able. Feel totally duped and take advantaged of. read more

My experience with Marshall's has been nothing short of horrible. We paid Marshall's to install a new furnace, add an air conditioning unit, and move our water heater. The plumber they contracted completely screwed up our pipes when moving the hot water heater leaving us unable to get more than a trickle of hot water for 4 days. They installed the AC Unit, but then completely forgot to run power to it. We discovered this months later when it was 100 degrees out. We stuck with them and had them come out to perform yearly maintenance on our brand new furnace. Unsurprisingly, everything checked out because the furnace was literally brand new. 3 months later the furnace is broken and Marshall's wants me to go without heat for a week before looking into it. Avoid this company at all costs. They are an absolute disaster and will cause you more headaches in the long run. read more

This is a long review. First off, this review is based on a situation that is 3 1/2 years ago but with the addition of new information gathered from Mitsubishi. When we first bought our home we had Marshall's come out and assess our heating and cooling needs. The comfort advisor sold us on a single unit for our home despite our house bing 1780sf. He insisted it would be sufficient. Well it wasn't. All the rooms remained hot or cold given the time of year. After I complained to the company they came out and reassessed and stated that we needed at least a three zone or more. They said they really wanted to work with us so I figured they would offer a new system and we would pay the difference. Nope, they offered us only $500 bucks off. That was a slap in the face. Not to mention they messed up somewhere along the way with the install of what they did. They system they installed never worked right meaning when on cool mode it never hit a comfort zone. If we have it set for 70 degrees it will keep cooling all the way to 64 and won't stop. Marshells said that's how the system works but when I finally called Mitsubishi they said it should not work like that and sounds like the installer did something wrong. We are now getting a new system from Comfort Flow Heating. I would recommend calling them and not wasting your time. read more

Just got off the phone with reception. Had a service repair in Oct (8 mo ago) but the unit failed in two months with same problem while operating as heating unit. I need it fixed now as it is my only way to cool home and they want to charge me $110 For another diagnostic for something they only replaced fuses at the rate of $175. Really? I just priced these fuses at home depot at $5.47 each! I paid $175 For a $10.92 fix that was not fixed at all! You've lost my business Marshalls! read more

We've had Marshall's rotate an existing furnace 90 degrees, do a full heating duct replacement, and install a heat pump on an old farmhouse we're renovating. (Two separate projects.) In both cases we were very satisfied with their quotes. They completed the jobs quickly and even offered to come back later to add ducting on a room that needed to be finished. We wanted to add heat to the second floor, which had no ducts going it. Their estimator helped walk us through our options, including ways we could add the ducting while keeping it hidden. The communication of their customer service team is friendly and helpful, and they were good about reminding us of upcoming work. Both projects required an electrician, who they contracted with and took care of. Their follow-up has been excellent. And most important, the heating system works as designed. We are very happy and would recommend Marshall's to anybody. read more

Well had a hiccup with my first true heatwave in Eugene and I could tell they were swamped but they had me in the queue for the next day. If I could give them a zero, I would. Six years ago I had them install my carrier unit so I naturally called them for repairs. They came out in January and said it was a coolant line issue, put some Freon in the unit and left. Came out again a second time in March and now they say it's a wiring issue/thermostat issue. They told me they used the air wiring at the thermostat and outdoors for the heat in March... I had asked them to leave it alone. They said the wire was definitely bad and it would be $1071 to repair. They came in June... took that long...When they came they started randomly trying different cords and wires. Seeking to get air they turned on heat on an 80 degree day. They keep just randomly doing things with no knowledge of what they are doing. Any proficient repair person could definitely tell me what and why they are doing it. They were defensive and honestly shooting in the dark. I called they main office and their person there only was trying to defend the technician yet wouldn't really listen that this is the third time and the repair person does not know what he is doing. I had better not see a third bill or they will be talking to my lawyers. If this is their most experienced technician, I highly recommend avoiding this company at all cost. They will just keep charging you for more and more expensive diagnostics with no guarantee of a repair. They would do better to suggest they do warranty and reinstall a brand units with $x amount of cost to do so. Avoid this business. read more

My gas fireplace hadn't worked since I moved in 4 years ago, so I contacted Marshall's to come out and take a look. I was a little concerned at first because of the initial inspection fee but soon realized that it included a lot more than I expected! Tim came out and was able to determine what the problem was, cleaned out my fireplace so it was sparkling and was able to get it working like new! He was super friendly and helpful and did a great job keeping the area around where he was working clean. Called today about scheduling our annual service maintenance and was quoted $225.00 for the Value Club service which for the past 2 years was $168.00. I asked the scheduler if they had raised their prices and she said "oh yes I guess we did"! I realize things are going up but over 30% hike and not informing the customer other than requesting my credit card to bill me. Plus the lady didn't even care whether I deserved an explanation or if I even scheduled an appointment with Marshall's. I think it's time to get a more customer friendly service. read more

I had Marshall's out in January because my furnace wasn't keeping temperature they did a diagnostic test for 135.00. What they decided was the contactor for the heat pump had failed. They also proceeded to tell me that the compressor had failed and that everything I had was shot and not worth fixing and that I should replace it. They gave me a bid ranging from 15k to 18k. I still could heat my house using e-heat... so that's what I did until I could figure a replacement plan. Fast forward to yesterday I had a different company come out... they did a diagnostic test and charged me 69.00. Their findings were this.. Marshall's had cut the high voltage wires while here and disconnected the low voltage board. There really was a simple fix to my problem but Marshall's just cut the wires and said I need a whole new unit and that they didn't even make the brand I had anymore to repair it. The new guys were here for a half hour and had my unit up and running in minutes by replacing the contactor amp for 36.00. I will be buying a new unit when needed from the new heating company, which I might add will not even be half the cost of what Marshall's quoted me. I'm so bothered by dishonest businesses and question how they can sleep at night! I too am a small business owner and wouldn't dream of being dishonest for a buck!! If I could give 0 stars I would! Jeff And Harold both should be ashamed of themselves. Update... two years later and the heater is still running great! My 36.00 fix!!! We recently had Marshall's replace our heat pump and put in a gas furnace. The man who came to see what we needed, where it could be put, gave info on products and cost (Aaron) was very helpful. The 2 installers, Andy and Aaron (different Aaron) were very friendly, cleaned up after themselves, kept us informed on what they were doing. We enjoyed having them here for the 2 1/2 days it took for the installation and the follow up to connect to the gas that had to be brought to the house by NW Natural Gas. Andy went over and above anything expected and helped us many times with helpful ideas and just plain help. Appreciate when a company and their employees are so nice, friendly, and know their job well. read more

The service from Theo was great, I also understand the $130 service call but.... Apparently the fuses for my ductless heat pump needed replaced. I was charged $61 for two of them. Theo was nice enough to show me how to replace them for next time and thought I could possibly get an extra set at Jerry's for next time since I live out of town somewhat. I went to Jerry's and the two fuses that I was charged $61 from Marshall's were $13 at Jerrys! I don't mind paying a little more when I have to have someone else do things but good golly! The service department is horrible! I needed to have warranty work done and what ensued was a major headache. They'll set up a appointment in a four hour window and on three consecutive occasions had to change times. This cost my family about $500 in lost wages. I will be looking for a different company as soon as the warranty work is done. read more

We had the old ceiling heat that wasn't efficient. Called Marshalls on a recommendation of a neighbor. The unit we chose had issues and was very noisy in our bedroom. Lisa at Marshall's took charge and made sure the system was swapped out. That still didn't cure the problem. She made sure another system was installed after many calls and visits with Mitsubishi. They didn't give up u til we were happy with our purchase and installation. Highly quality workmanship and total clean up. read more

Pretty disappointing customer service. Expensive too. With temps in the 30s overnight, our thermostat (installed by Marshalls) failed. We called and asked for a same-day service appointment and were told someone would be out "in two hours" and would charge $95 just to walk in the door. Additional parts & labor would be added to that charge. Four hours later, no repairman and no call from Marshalls about the repairman being two hours late. Marshalls receptionist seemed impatient with a customer calling to find out where a promised repairman was. Turns out Marshalls doesn't keep track of whether their employees show up on time or are hours behind schedule. In other words, a customer's time has no value to Marshalls. Between the poor performance and the steep prices, there's not much to recommend using Marshalls over a less expensive, more customer-oriented company. read more

I called Marshall's for a routine service of my gas furnace and they found problems and shut it off completely for safety. They pressured me to purchase a whole new unit and when I did not qualify for the financing they stopped calling me and when I asked for a repair appointment, they said I could not schedule or order parts until I had paid in advance. If the parts came from the factory it would take two weeks and we might be without heat in the middle of winter (with kids!) for a month! When I asked about a warranty coverage (my unit is only 8 years old) they said it would not apply because I did not keep the maintenance schedule. I called another place and within hours they found out my parts were covered under warranty, they could have them the next day and that my heat would be on in 48 hours. Since I had a good experience with Marshalls during the installation of our gas stove I decided to get a quote from them for a gas insert stove for our old fireplace. After setting up the appointment for the next day with Andy, I waited at home for an hour before calling Marshalls and was told that they made a mistake and they would send someone over right away. Which they did and I was told they would send me a quote. Well, after another week and not receiving my quote I emailed to ask for the quote thinking that they may have gotten my email address wrong. Well.... 5 days later .... no quote and no response to my inquiry email...... That's it for Marshalls....never again.... read more

This has been nothing but a terrible experience from day one. We had Marshall's install an entirely new system in a full house renovation approximately two years ago. That process was fraught with issues from start to finish to include rude schedulers who failed to get us on the schedule for work when they said they would, not letting us know when the crew was "sick" and would not be out at all on the scheduled day, and installing cheap equipment that was inappropriate for residential use, which we, the customer, had to request to be changed out. We had to tell them that we were happy to spend more to have the best system and were not looking to cut corners. We also had to tell them that we had sent our own employees under the house, and that the duct work was full of water in this 100 year old farmhouse. The estimator had said the duct work was "fine". We had to beg them to take our money to do the job right. This brings me to today. I called last week to schedule a service visit, they scheduled us out to this morning. No problem. However, she felt it necessary to "double check" that I knew there was a $135 service fee, and that we could pay. Keep in mind we have spent almost $20,000 with this company in the past two years. The technician shows up to our newly renovated home on 500 acres and says, "So, this is a rental, right?" Ummm no...As he is leaving he tells my husband they can send a bill to our office (the farm we own) for the $135 service fee. Not five minutes later I get a call from the office saying that there was no one here to collect the fee, and she (Darlene) needed to collect immediately. She then proceeds to ask me for our billing address, email etc. I informed her that she should have all of this being that we had spent a lot of money with them in very recent history. She says they do. That will be the very last time we do business with Marshall's. The tone of the entire interaction was one of distrust, disrespect and generally that they do not value our business in the least.My regret is that we ever called them to begin with. I would have much rather spent that amount of money with a company that values its customers. They have been disrespectful at every turn. They have assumed that my husband and I (in our 30's) are renters, employees etc. and have treated us accordingly. You know what they say about assuming. Marshall's, you need to adopt intensive customer service training as soon as possible. If my employee's behaved the way yours do toward paying customers we would be out of business. read more

Marshall's came out to repair some insulation and a couple of other heat pump issues under our house. They were there on time and finished when they said they would. They showed me the work they had done and made sure I didn't have any questions. There was no mess, and the workers even replaced the raccoon fencing--I wouldn't even haven have known they were there. I will hire them again if I need it. read more
