The first time I used UPC's services for a mouse problem, the work was done by two employees of the company. They did a good job and resolved the issue. I was pleased so I contacted UPC for a second time when I discovered a RAT problem. This time the owner came out, sold me an overpriced $500 "rat service." Instead of his competent employees, he did the work, such as it was, himself. The package included four visits to check the traps and dispose of any dead rats. The first visit was as promised. The second was a no show. I had to call them to get them to come out. One more was a no show and when I called again to have him check the traps, I reached the owner who told me he was sick. I had to call again and tell them to make the fourth call and remove the traps. I never saw the owner--he must have come and gone without letting me know he was even here. A few months later a work man was in the crawl space and found rat's nests, traps, and another dead rat. I believe now that the owner never came to take away the traps and left the dead rat to decompose. I tried on four occasions to reach the owner to discuss the situation, but he never returned my calls. Avoid this company if you want competent, effective, honest, responsible service without paying for calls that don't occur. read more

We were very pleased with our experience with UPC Insulation. They replaced our insulation and installed new bath exhaust duct work. I wish we would have found them earlier to help us with our "bats in the attic" problem, but happy we now know UPC in case we need them again! I've used UPC for over 2 years now even since I discovered carpenter ants were living in my crawl space and were having a feast on my foundation. Bill and his crew came out right away after the call and took care of the problem. Then Carl returned on a monthly basis for the next 12 months and sprayed the foundation + took care of any cobwebs that accumulated under the eves and gutters. The ants a history. . . Now I'm on a 6 month maintenance plan and worry free; even got a discount for paying in advance for the year. Very good people; Carl is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. This pest control company is very poor at communicating services they provide during short visits to homes being monitored. I have a small 2 bedroom home that is a rental unit. The fees they charged for services provided were WAY out of line! They never provided requested phone calls regarding what they had done at the home. They brought out a bunch of cheap mouse traps and glue pads,spent twenty or so minutes checking them on 4 occasions, said they fixed rodent entry holes, (did not say where these were) and installed a new weather strip on one door. They did not catch one rodent, my tenant actually trapped a rat, moved a couple of glue traps; the rat ate poison peanut butter UPC had left and the tenant disposed of the rodent body. This company never responded directly to my questions or complaints. Very unhappy with service and fees from this company! read more

I was very disappointed that after 2 years I was told there was a fresh carpenter ant hole on my front porch. I was also disappointed over miscommunications. I had specifically told the owner that I was the only one who should be working with them. And now I am having a problem with the bookkeeping. Unfortunately I am looking for someone new. I had the same experience as Elizabeth R. They took my money but did not want to do the job. I called with a rodent problem, they came out, talked to me, charged me a lot of money and put out some traps and sprayed for carpenter ants. After several weeks I complained and that's when they blocked my calls. I asked for a partial refund But never heard from them again. read more

The techs will knock on the door to see if there have been any issues we want them to pay special attention to, and then they go about their work. We called them thanks to a recommendation by the sellers of our home and they didn't even charge us a new customer fee; simply rolled the account over from the previous owners to us. exterminator had no knowledge of ant control. one fumigation under the house for 250 dollars will not rid ants long term. Also they would not give any maintenance costs over the phone. After having some quotes for pest control Allen was the only person I met with that seemed 100% knowledgeable and had a game plan ready to get rid of my ant and spider problem inside as well as outside my home. He walked through every room, checked our windows and beds for any other pests and was very thorough. Allen was able to start a remedy right after diagnosing the problem. Ultimate Pest Control was the worst choice we could have made for our pest control needs. We used Home-advisor and was contacted by them first due to a rodent issue. They initially presented a wonderful option, made us feel like we were a priority, and even had us sign up for a bi-monthly service to take care of all other pest issues we may encounter. After about two weeks of follow through they stopped communicating with us. We signed up in mid-November and stopped hearing from them in December. I called and didn't hear back. Then in January the rodent issue became much worse and we could hear them in our walls. I became more persistent in calling. Grant, the owner, once again put on his car salesman act and made me think it was all a misunderstanding and they would be out ASAP to address the problem. There continued to be minimal communication through the next 4(!) months. I called him again to say that we needed to hear from them more regularly to know if they were even coming out, and to know how bad the rodent situation was. During this conversation, Grant rudely put me on hold so that he would not have to hear any frustrations or complaints. Then he said he'd "talk with his guy" and make sure he was communicating better. By April I felt extremely frustrated and done with this company. I called Grant and told him that I want a partial refund (I'm okay being charged with a reasonable amount for the minimal work they did complete). He said he would refund the bi-monthly service that had not been used for the rest of the year ($170) and would look to see what would be fair in terms of additional refunds. He sent me a check two weeks later and refused to call me back on any other aspect of the refund (despite several calls on my end). I paid $755 and was only refunded $170. Still have a rodent issue in July. Was patient with the company for 6 months and gave them multiple opportunities to make things right. I now how to pay another pest company $500 to complete a project that Ultimate Pest Control failed to do. They are the WORST company. I would never trust them again. read more

I still have a vole problem. Contacted this company because of good reviews on here & my experience was not at all like the others. Treatment was not applied consistently and customer service was atrocious. Had an appt for second treatment and it took me 2 days to get a return call back after I was stood up! Bradley is arrogant and has attitude. In the end I still have a vole problem. Save your time & money & call another pest company. 9-29-15 Mr. Grant, I did contact you. My husband asked them to stop the spraying at our property, in feb. I was sitting right across from him and heard the conversation. We got back from Holidays and got busy moving and didn't realized it was still being sprayed. When I called the office I was told that call never happened. I really don't like being called a liar. My sister and husband needed a treatment for bedbugs. Ultimate charged $95 for the inspection because Samantha on the phone said they were so invasive the tech needed to "Throw away his clothes afterwards." The tech came with out coverings, booties, or gloves. Standard practice in the business. His inspection was was so cursory they were extremely concerned about his lack of knowledge and his inability to answer their questions. They have a new Purple brand mattress they wanted checked that they purchased after they did their own bedbug treatment. He said it was fine because the mattress cover was good and didn't even lift a corner on the mattress cover or look at the mattress. Same thing with the futon mattress. A week after the inspection they STILL didn't have an estimate, but they got other spam from the company. They called Terminex and got a FREE inspection. Of course, their tech had protective gear. They found both mattresses the Ultimate guy didn't even look at were infested. There was a huge amount of information regarding treatment and follow up. Some of the information the Ultimate tech gave was flat out wrong. The estimate came back in 48 hours. What a difference. Ultimate needs to find an employee who actually knows the job. read more

WE had Bill, the owner to spray for carpenter ants in one of the bedrooms of our granny unit. He charged us an exorbitant price to drill 15 holes in the ceiling which took him one hour. The problem came back several weeks later, we called to complain and he said he would call us back next week. What a big disappointment....That was about 8 weeks ago. We are still waiting. I would NOT recommend... this company does not back its work!! read more

I love the service, dependability, promptness, and the employees. I aboslutely dislike that nothing is left behind now to show that they have been out to the house. No bill, no card, no nothing. When I get a bill saying I am now behind several months because i haven't paid is EXTREMELY hard to swallow living on a fixed income. Thankfully they work with you on your past billing, BUT there wouldn't be any past bill if I knew someone had been there. This is my only complaint about this service. read more

Ultimate Pest Control is very professional and efficient! We smelled a terrible smell under our home. We called them and they came out right away. They found a live opossum, so they set up live traps. One was captured, and they removed two dead ones. They cleaned up the area, repaired the vent of entrance and insulation. The service technician was nice and gave good recommendations for improvements around our property, but the rodent service got zero results and then we were surprised and stuck with a $500 bill. Be sure to get a complete set of agreed upon pricing before hiring them. I will look elsewhere in the future. read more

We were disappointed in the service we received. Our house was sprayed for pests (namely ants) but within 2 weeks, we still had ants all over our house. We were told that in 60 days, they would call, and come back to spray again if we still had ants. When we hadn't heard from them, we called (about 70 days after the initial application) and we were told we called too late, we weren't within the 60-day timeframe, and they couldn't help us unless we signed up to receive monthly pest applications. Our contract noted they had a 60-day guarantee. Considering we still had ants within 14 days, in our humble opinion, they did not fulfill their obligation. read more

We had Bill Granstrom of Ultimate Pest Control North Bend spray a room for carpenter ants, he punched about 15 small holes into the ceiling and spent an hour at the job. We were told that it was warrantied after a month the carpenter ants came back, we called and spoke to Bill.....still waiting for him about ten months later. Ultimate Pest Control? Try ultimate rip off artists. After several years of good service, Blake the guy who had been handling this area turned it over to a new guy. Blake had always been great. The new guy, not so much. When Blake first came out here years ago, he set us up on an every other month, only in hot weather, schedule. He did this because all we need is wasp control, and that's the only time they can treat for wasps. Then the new guy starts. 1)the new guy showed up at our door unannounced, in Oct, and was rude when we told him we did not need service in the cold weather. 2)he called here in Feb and again his attitude was that we were doing something wrong by not having him come out for a service call in the cold weather (I had snow on the ground the day he called). It seemed as if he wanted to come up and make some money and he expected everyone up in this area to accommodate him and agree to a service call because he was going to be up here anyway. 3)when I called him in April to come out, he was again rude and insulting and informed us that since we had refused service in the past they would have to charge us at the one-time rate for service calls (over $250 per call) or I could pay a "reinstatement fee of $100 some odd, for the first call and $70/month thereafter, as long as I did not interrupt service again (IE monthly fee all year long). His entire attitude was rude and he acted as if I was treating him badly by not buying new unwanted services, accommodating his schedule, and for wanting to stick to the schedule we had been using for several years. I was made to feel as if I was the bad guy for not just doing as I was told. Now maybe this works in some areas with some people, but it is NOT good business. Nor is trying to coerce customers into buying unwanted unnecessary services. Nor is changing the rules in the middle of the game. I called Blake to find out what was going on and the new guy called back immediately after I spoke to Blake, but his attitude was not much better, and the attempts to extort added fees and costs, and more frequent service, was only slightly diminished. Yesterday he called back again, apparently in response to my having left a message for Blake, telling me that they would do me the favor of only charging me a $90 some odd "reinstatement" fee. He was unclear if they would still insist on a $70 monthly fee, or if they were going to charge me $70 per call after the "reinstatement" fee. He was also unclear as to whether they would charge me a "reinstatement" fee every year because I would not continue service through the cold weather, or if they would honor the schedule I had had with Blake after the first "reinstatement" fee. What I am asking for is exactly what we have been doing for years now, the same schedule of service (every other month only in warm weather, essentially March through Sept) at about the same fee (I have never had an issue when Blake tells me he needs to up the price because of inflation, that sort of thing is understandable and expected, that is not what I am talking about). The fact that my wanting to continue the existing service under the existing terms, is now seen and treated as bad behavior, and that it requires punitive "reinstatement" charges, is not only insulting, it is unprofessional. And to try and make it seems as if this unprofessional behavior is my fault for not having honored a new schedule that I knew nothing about, that I do not and have not ever wanted, needed or discussed with the company, a new schedule that is not about offering me better service but is instead designed to line the company's pockets at my expense, is adding insult to injury Frankly at this point I no longer trust Ultimate Pest Control, and I want nothing to do with this new guy. I do not like him nor do I trust him. I have serious concerns about his honesty and the quality of service I will get from him even if the company does agree to continue the service and fee schedule we have been using for the past several years. He has continually blamed the company, saying these decisions are out of his hands. Yet we never had any such issues with Blake. The sad part is I do not know if he can be believed and the company is the one pushing this, or if he is just trying to pump up his income and doing this on his own. Bottom line though is that it doesn't matter. I will not have him on my property, nor will I work with any other UPC employee other than Blake. I realize that Blake is not coming up here anymore, and I appreciate that his servicing us would be a hardship for him, so I fully understand his not wanting to come up here. Given that, I will look for another company to service our property, or I will start doing it myself. Sad that they destroyed a business relationship that had been ongoing for years. Sad that they treat customers so poorly. Sad that a once decent business has become a scam factory. read more
