This is a bit of an overdue review. Fair Pricing and Quick Installation, but Lacking Attention to Detail Overall, my experience with Alpine Fence had a mix of clear positives and frustrating negatives. The Positives * Communication & Speed: They were quick to respond, quick to get us on the schedule, and finished the installation very fast. * Pricing & Reputation: Their quote was fair and in line with other estimates I received. I ultimately chose them because I recognized the brand and had seen their work around the neighborhood. * Customer Support: When I reached out regarding issues after the job, they responded quickly and sent a different installer out to fix one of the issues. The Negatives * Damaged Materials: Many vinyl pieces arrived scratched up because they were transported loose in the back of the installer's truck, sliding around in dirt and debris. * Rough Site Cleanup: I had carefully cleared all the rocks away from the old fence so they could work easily and replace the rocks afterward. Because the crew rushed, they did a poor job spreading the rock back out, leaving obvious bare dirt patches despite there being plenty of rock. There were tons of vinyl shavings from the installation that are all over the yard. * Property Damage: Concrete was dripped onto my decorative walkway pavers, which I still haven't been able to remove. * Missed Instructions: I specifically asked them not to connect the new fence to my neighbor's existing fence, but they did it anyway. Follow-Up & Final Verdict To their credit, Alpine Fence sent a second technician who replaced the scratched rails, posts, and gate, and fixed a gate installation error. However, they completely ignored the concrete on my decorative pavers, the rock landscaping issue, and the improper connection to the neighbor's fence. They get the job done quickly and stand by their customer service to an extent, but the rushed workmanship and damage to surrounding property keep this at a 3-star review. read more

Michael gave us a quote. He was professional and friendly. He recommended that we get a few more quotes to compare and that's what we did. We received 3 offers and they were very competitive. We went with Alpine because they were referred by our neighbor behind us and they did a great job at her place. On the day of, they came exactly at 8am. Had to have them fabricate a new gate because the mechanical lock on the one they put on first was way beyond jinky! They gate and lock they installed began to FAIL less than a week following construction. They also cut a jinky cut-out for it to fit into. I had to pay $5,000 to get a steel reinforced new gate installed. Nobody seemed to care if my property was secure or not! I have a pool and worried about the gate being left open!! After completion, my nephew, who is working for his Eagle Scout asked if they could donate lumber for a small fence in Mission Trails. Tommy had another guy return his call, but didn't bother to inform him what the call was about. My nephew was summarily dismissed with a "we don't do that." I spend over $25,000 on a fence and you guys can't/won't give the Boy Scouts a few pieces of wood?!! Cheap jerks! They left a very bad taste in my mouth!!!!! read more

Horrible horrible company. I bill by the hour for my job and took time to ensure I could make the appointment for my estimate. I was left waiting well past the time window for an estimate for my fence. They never called to let me know they were running late or to cancel. I had to hunt down the person coming by calling Alpine Fence and I was given a lame excuse by the front desk person who said that Tommy could be here "in maybe 20 minutes." I couldn't take additional time than what I had already scheduled as I planned the whole day around this. This company does not care about its customers or respect their time. How hard is it to call or answer a text (which I sent asking if he was on his way). Extremely unprofessional. If they can't even make it to give an estimate I can't imagine they do anything better. I'm a neighbor of a client of yours who had a 70' fence installed yesterday. I went outside to see the progress and to my shock I see one of your workers stealing my water (to mix the cement)! "Are you using my water?" Like a script, he replied, "This fence will be for you and your neighbor." Patrick, the foreman, told the worker to stop and said that "it was only one bucket". I highly doubt that because all the other poles were already in place. You lost all credibility when I caught you stealing my water. My house is about 8 feet from the property line whereas the neighbor's property is about 70 feet away and downhill. I made a special and obvious effort to cover one of my water spigots to prevent any attempt to steal my water. Yes, "steal": "take (another person's property) without permission or legal right and without intending to return it". I forgot to cover the other one further down my property but, I shouldn't have had to do any of that. Before you or readers start giving me blowback about how I got a "free" fence; this type of fence was installed with zero feedback from me. I never would have chosen this type because my grapefruit tree is going to suffer from the limited amount of sunshine it will now be receiving. Most importantly, there's a security issue. I expected this to happen with someone else (hence, the covering of one of my spigots) but, Alpine Fence is a large and well-known company and should have known better. UPDATE: Thank you, Mike, for your quick response. Your concern and empathy to what happened is much appreciated. Your solution to "make things right" made me happy. Once we decided on the style we made a few changes and Tommy made a second trip to our house to make sure he was able to accommodate exactly what we had envisioned and to point out a few things that he left up to us. Did a terrible job, digging up the dirt for the footing and leaving big gaps between the ground and bottom of the fence, which defeats having a fence at that point, not being able to contain/keep our pets. Complained and their solution: put up plank boards at the bottom-- "problem solved". Still didn't fix the potholes under my artificial grass, which is very dangerous as I have small children! Very sloppy, careless job and definitely not worth the price from a "professional" business. Run elsewhere, see pictures attached. Now I have to hire someone else to repair their work.
