Had to have them fabricate a new gate because the mechanical lock on the one they put on first was way beyond jinky! They gate and lock they installed began to FAIL less than a week following construction. They also cut a jinky cut-out for it to fit into. I had to pay $5,000 to get a steel reinforced new gate installed. Nobody seemed to care if my property was secure or not! I have a pool and worried about the gate being left open!! After completion, my nephew, who is working for his Eagle Scout asked if they could donate lumber for a small fence in Mission Trails. Tommy had another guy return his call, but didn't bother to inform him what the call was about. My nephew was summarily dismissed with a "we don't do that." I spend over $25,000 on a fence and you guys can't/won't give the Boy Scouts a few pieces of wood?!! Cheap jerks! They left a very bad taste in my mouth!!!!! read more

We went with Alpine because they were referred by our neighbor behind us and they did a great job at her place. On the day of, they came exactly at 8am. Horrible horrible company. I bill by the hour for my job and took time to ensure I could make the appointment for my estimate. I was left waiting well past the time window for an estimate for my fence. They never called to let me know they were running late or to cancel. I had to hunt down the person coming by calling Alpine Fence and I was given a lame excuse by the front desk person who said that Tommy could be here "in maybe 20 minutes." I couldn't take additional time than what I had already scheduled as I planned the whole day around this. This company does not care about its customers or respect their time. How hard is it to call or answer a text (which I sent asking if he was on his way). Extremely unprofessional. If they can't even make it to give an estimate I can't imagine they do anything better. I called to ask for help and they told me it would be at least a week. I drove to the store in Alpine to buy hardware to try and do it myself. I'm a neighbor of a client of yours who had a 70' fence installed yesterday. I went outside to see the progress and to my shock I see one of your workers stealing my water (to mix the cement)! "Are you using my water?" Like a script, he replied, "This fence will be for you and your neighbor." Patrick, the foreman, told the worker to stop and said that "it was only one bucket". I highly doubt that because all the other poles were already in place. You lost all credibility when I caught you stealing my water. My house is about 8 feet from the property line whereas the neighbor's property is about 70 feet away and downhill. I made a special and obvious effort to cover one of my water spigots to prevent any attempt to steal my water. Yes, "steal": "take (another person's property) without permission or legal right and without intending to return it". I forgot to cover the other one further down my property but, I shouldn't have had to do any of that. Before you or readers start giving me blowback about how I got a "free" fence; this type of fence was installed with zero feedback from me. I never would have chosen this type because my grapefruit tree is going to suffer from the limited amount of sunshine it will now be receiving. Most importantly, there's a security issue. I expected this to happen with someone else (hence, the covering of one of my spigots) but, Alpine Fence is a large and well-known company and should have known better. UPDATE: Thank you, Mike, for your quick response. Your concern and empathy to what happened is much appreciated. Your solution to "make things right" made me happy. I never thought I would be so happy with the result of an HOA repair notice. The fence we are left with - thanks to Alpine Fence- is beautiful. We received such stellar service from start to finish.. Did a terrible job, digging up the dirt for the footing and leaving big gaps between the ground and bottom of the fence, which defeats having a fence at that point, not being able to contain/keep our pets. Complained and their solution: put up plank boards at the bottom-- "problem solved". Still didn't fix the potholes under my artificial grass, which is very dangerous as I have small children! Very sloppy, careless job and definitely not worth the price from a "professional" business. Run elsewhere, see pictures attached. Now I have to hire someone else to repair their work.
