I couldn't be happier with the work from GFC Fence. From start to finish, the entire experience was outstanding. He and his son are professional, responsive, punctual, and clearly took pride in their work. The quality of the fence exceeded my expectations. Everything was installed with great attention to detail, the workmanship is excellent, and the finished product looks amazing. They were easy to work with, answered all of my questions, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for a reliable, professional fence contractor. Great quality, great service, and a beautiful finished product. We even have them starting another project for my neighbor and I. Thank you! read more

Good people, worked hard until the job was done. I highly recommend this company. Very fair pricing and they even bring their own water. Thanks guys. Im still gonna need the vinyl stripper pole for plus size ladies. read more

Fantastic quality of work. Worksite was cleaned up afterward. Very friendly technicians.

I needed and wanted a fence and entrance gate put up around my small front patio. Most of the companies that came out for quotes tried to sway me on installing a wood fence and gate even when I told them that my wife already had aluminum or metal in mind...not Shad though! After meeting with Shad, I already knew we would want his company to install our fence and gate...vibes were great! He was attentive and informative on what we wanted. Installation day came, Shad and his son were professional and productive. Fence and gate were installed and I have received nothing but compliments since! I'm so glad we didn't let one of the other companies talk us into a wood fence and gate! read more

We are so happy with our wood fence! Father and son work so well together and we would recommend this company to everyone. We have a large yard and they had to take down and remove our old fence ( over 57 years old). They were friendly and so nice to talk to. What we paid them they definitely earned it. We would hire them again, for sure. Ron and Diane read more

Came to the house and then never followed up providing a quote. Wasted my time. I reached out again to remind them and nothing heard. Disappointed that they wouldn't just let me know they weren't interested in taking on the project. read more

Flakey company. What they say is not what they quote which is not what they write in their contracts. Buyer beware.

Great guys, fast install. Appreciate the time and quality. Installed side gates on front and back yard. read more

GFC Fence - Replaced side fence and gate - Fences & Gates Near Me - La Mesa, California

They did an excellent job on replacing our fence. The price was reasonable. They were easy to work with, friendly, and honest. In the middle of the project, they had to install support to ensure that the fence was stabilized and only charged for the materials they needed. They even repaired our lattice fence that wasn't a part of the project. They warned me that shifting might occur a few months down the road and when that happened, they came back to fix the issue right away at no charge. read more

GFC Fence just finished installing a 70ft. wood fence and did a Great job installing it. The Father Son team was very efficient and fast. The quality of the fence is fantastic. They were polite and very professional. They finished the job in two days. Cleaned up and took old fencing away. Pricing was very competitive. My wife and I are so pleased with the Finished product. We highly recommend GFC fencing. read more

Add this to the list of poor customer service reviews. I would like to say this is covid related , but this seems to be the case for a while. Left a message with their admin about wanting a quote . Took many days to get a response. Had someone come out. They talked about how busy they have been. If you can't have decent customer service , should not be taking in any new customers . Requested my quote when I didn't hear back after 8 more days . I was told the computer was broken. Not a phone call apologizing for a delay,. A hand written quote , or any attempt . 9 days later received our quote that was way higher than others . The work can be amazing, but without common courtesy and decent customer service, people will chose another company .. like we did. read more

Having coffee this morning, looking at our fence, brought back memories of a great experience with the GFC Fence Co; one of the best in the business. It has been over 4 years since Shad installed our new fence. It is just as solid as the day he installed it and still looks new! The quality of the wood and workmanship is great! Can say enough about this company! Thank Shad for a job well done! read more

Shad did a great job installing 80' of 8' chain link fence on my property. I would use again.

Great family business. Father and Son worked together to get my fence built. They were friendly, reliable and quality work. Pricing and quality of the materials were great as well. I would refer them to family and friends and would hire them for other fencing needs. read more

Shad and GFC Fence were amazing for our fence and gate project! Highly recommend their craftsmanship and willingness to ensure the fence and gate were completed in a way that matched the aesthetics we were looking for. After getting multiple quotes, they were one of the few companies willing to even do more "custom" fencing. We had 4 gates, a half wall/half fence, and other odd circumstances, but Shad was able to make it work and make it look great! read more

I can't say enough great things about Shad and April. They were so great throughout my project. They replaced my dry rotted back yard fence. Shad was upfront and honest about pricing, fence pattern selection, and the whole project overall which made me feel real good about choosing GFC. They also installed a white Pickett fence in my front yard. This is where they rise above everyone else in my opinion. Someone called to complain and the city shut down the whole project for some random stupid city codes. Shad was super understanding and April kept in touch with me while I worked it out with the city. 5 agonizing months later and I finally was able to get the fence finished. I had to have the fence location changed and Shad made the new location look great. They are patient, understanding, and really take pride in their work. I never write reviews but they left me no choice. I had to tell people how great my experience was with GFC Fence. Thanks again Shad and April. You're the best! read more

GFC Fence - 6' backyard overlapping fence with cap and trim. - Fences & Gates Near Me - La Mesa, California

These guys have installed two different fences for me at two different properties. Both jobs could not have been done better. They were fast, used good quality materials, and the end products looked great! Furthermore, because they use the Post-master verticals set in concrete, they are extremely sturdy and impervious too wood rot or termites. Two thumbs up - Six stars - Top shelf ... any way you say it, they're good. read more

So yes - right upfront I've never used this company directly but when I sent them photos for a quote - they right away responded and apologized for not being able to do the work, BUT they also took effort to get me a solid referral of somebody that could...and he came out for a quote same week, and finished the work all in one morning. He absolutely NAILED it for new vinyl fence and gate at our house. If they ever work together or are affiliated I would trust this as a great company to ask for help in all fencing needs. read more

Chad was awesome! He is very knowledgeable and help educate me about different fencing options. Even tho this wasn't his job he willingly offered his expertise about other parts of my property he saw could be an issue down the road and things I should look out for. Me being a new home owner and not an expert about a lot of stuff on the property I found this very helpful. I really appreciated him going out of his way to help me learn and understand more about my property. Thanks again Chad for your time! read more

Horrible customer service, never responded to emails and calls after they provided an estimate. Was very disappointed.

We requested a quote from Shad at GFC Fence Co, and about 20 minutes later received a call from Shad to set up an appointment the following day. Shad knocked on our door the next day at the exact time he said he would be there. He took his measurements, talked a bit about the different fencing options and his recommendations, and told us he would email us with a quote the next day. Due to the complexity of our job, which involved working with our neighbors to remove their invasive bamboo that had spread into our yard and to find a time that would work for both parties to have fencing between our yards down, we had to go back and forth with Shad several times to adjust the quote. Shad always emailed and/or called us back within 24 hours with updates. After we finally worked things out with the neighbors, we had a very short time frame in which to schedule the work, and Shad was able to work with us to fit into our time frame. This included coming out with much less than a week's notice (a very different experience than we had with other fencing companies who would not be able to even come out and give us a quote for a month), and agreeing to complete the job (that would normally take 2 days) in one day to reduce the amount of time without fencing around our yard. On the day of the job, Shad communicated with us clearly - he made sure we were alright with the placement of the new fencing, made us aware of any issues that he found while completing the job, and gave us updates as he worked to complete the project. Shad and his two workers paid attention to every detail as they laid out the frame work for the fence (which included 8' Dog Eared Fencing, two detailed Cap and Trim Gates, and a Cap and Trim fence enclosing the front yard) and built the whole fence from scratch (no pre-fab lengths of fence in sight). The resulting fence is gorgeous, well crafted, and a huge improvement from the previous fence that we purchased the house with. At the end of the job Shad and his crew cleaned up any mess that was made (which was minimal), let us know that the gates could settle over time and need adjustments (which Shad would come out and fix within a week if needed), and walked us through some very helpful fence care. After Shad and his guys left at the end of the job, several neighbors came over to compliment the fence and the guys from GFC Fence Co. We were told that Shad and his workers were professional the whole day they were at the house, and that they would all be interested in using them for any future fencing needs. We could not agree more, and are already working to schedule GFC Fence Co to replace more of our dilapidated fencing! read more

Wow.... GFC! Another great company I found on Yelp..... GFC was one of the many company's I had come out for estimates on my total fence replacement, over 200 feet!!!!... If they were a fence company, I had them come out, big or small, I got estimates from EVERYBODY.... I liked GFC the best.... a smaller company, pricing a little lower than some of the bigger fence companies, but I just felt I had to go with them...AND SO GLAD I DID.... This team of people were a dream to work with. Shad, the owner, such a hard worker, but laid back at the same time, and very respectful and kind. He offered many suggestions to alternate fencing options ideas when I wanted to make changes, Shad helped with offering staining options, and what kind of products I should use... It was like we were working with a good friend. Glenn and Cory, his crew were so enjoyable to have around. It's also a family business, Shad's son, even came and helped out on his Spring Break. My fence was torn down the first day, and posts were set with cement. The rest of the week, day by day, the fence was installed. A huge undertaking! Shad even helped with a drooping hillside option, while not permanent, he created an affordable option other than a retaining wall. This guy really knows his stuff. So to close, we got over 200 feet of wood cap and trim, with some extensions and walk gate, as well as a pressure treated wood retaining wall. This is an amazing company, I feel so blessed to have found them! April is the receptionist/scheduler. She is very nice, funny and personable, sometimes she many not respond right away, apparently she just works a couple hours a day, but I always just called back if it was urgent. In the pictures you will see the before, during and after photos without and with stain. I used Ready Seal Dark Walnut Stain. I absolutely love my new fence and loved my experience with Shad and his team at GFC Fence Co. read more

Asked for a visit and quote. Got back to me, came by took measurements in December. Never heard back again... Kind of a waste of time.

We had a small project - just a simple gate in a chain link fence. But turns out it was not really simple after all - the fence is on a hill, against a sidewalk, around a water meter, and under a huge hibiscus bush. GFC came out, gave us an estimate, and the project was finished within a couple of weeks, which is fantastic as materials are short right now. This family owned business provided outstanding workmanship in a difficult area and the gate completely blends into the angle of the existing fence. They were extremely polite, efficient , and very reasonably priced. I would use them again in a heartbeat! read more

After spending months struggling with my homemade 21ft sliding gate, I finally broke down and turned to the professionals... after getting a couple of quotes, GFC was the winner for more than one reason! They came out much quicker than I expected, and they did an amazing Job! I love that they were understanding of my desire to keep the same look as the fence I have worked hard to build, and even were able to re-use my existing pickets.... they made the gate look better than it ever has, and it works better than it ever has!! I can't say enough great things! read more

Shad and his son cane out and did an excellent install for us. We had a decorative dual vinyl gate for the main driveway and dual chain link for the lower lot. He was able to widen the fence openings for us as well. Quick install with a quality build. read more

I recommend going with a fencing company who is actually interested in earning your business. Had them come out for a quote and was told I would have it in a few days. I followed up a week later and zero response. Then again asking for a quote and nothing. Going on two weeks now lol. Chalking it up to a waste of time and going another direction. read more

Amazing company, I can't recommend Shad enough. They did a completely custom vinyl fence install with a double drive gate. My fence is featured on there Yelp as well (one with Halloween decorations). We couldn't be happier with our new cedar fence from Shad and GFC. They removed our old rotted fence and replaced with gorgeous cedar. Made an appt for this past Saturday, stayed home to wait for them and they didn't show or call. I needed to replace a 30 year old fence that was 100 feet long shared between my neighbor and I. I got a few quotes from contractors and decided to go with Shad and GFC. We scheduled a few weeks out but unfortunately San Diego got hit back back to back with weeks of rain. I was expecting a big delay but Shad and April were able to accommodate our schedule and came out the next day it stopped raining and complete the job within one day! They did an amazing job with the fence installation. We got Cap and Trim with metal postmasters and it looked great! They also cleaned up everything and hauled away the old fence. Payment was easy and communication with him and our neighbor was great. They even rerouted one of my irrigation pipes that was put in way too close to the existing fence which isn't under their contract to do. Will def recommend GFC for future fence repairs/installs. read more

All I can say is this was topnotch all the way! Late on a Friday afternoon, I contacted the company via YELP message. I immediately got a response. Shad came out Sunday morning when it was convenient for me to do an estimate. He arrived on time had everything he needed....He had it together, and I received an estimate via email about 3 hours later. I was extremely pleased and decided to have him come out and take care of putting up a beautiful cedar fence for me. He came on Thursday morning right on time. He was extremely friendly and personable. Shad took time to make sure everything looked perfect before he left. He even told me if I had any concerns or questions to give them a ring right away. I highly recommend them for your fencing needs and look forward to doing business with him again in the future. read more

GFC rock! These guys are amazing! They did such a great job building over 200 linear ft of chainlink fencing in my backyard. I asked them to dig 4 inches down to secure rabbit fencing and attached to chainlink fence! And my yard looks like a park! I can't wait for them to do my cedar fencing next week in my front yard. Before I hired them I got several bids, some bids came in lower but my gut feeling told me that GFC will be the best choice and I was right! They are true professionals! They communicated well with me and answered all my questions and concerns, the estimates were nicely presented and broken down by front and back yard. Unlike the others, GFC did not upsell me with the more expensive products. They just finished my front yard cedar fencing over 120 linear ft cedar and they are beautiful! Check out the photos! GFC did an amazing job! Thank you GFC for a job well done. Thank you for making the canyon look like a part of my yard! Now my yard looks massive and thank you for the beautiful cedar fence and your suggestions on how it will look better! Everyone I highly highly recommend GFC to do your fencing job! read more

We are very happy with our new cedar fence. Shad and his son did a great job from start to finish. Really enjoying and loving our new fence. Shad and crew were very professional. Love the look and privacy so neighbors uphill behind us can no longer see us in our backyard or in our pool and I don't have to see dude neighbors old cars. We even added on a much needed new gate. Only bummer is they were so booked we had to wait a month and a half in order for them to get started. Not their fault. Highly recommend GFC Fence for a beautiful well done long lasting sturdy fence. read more
