Irina did an amazing job on my Russian manicure. She's very detail oriented and knowledgeable. I'll definitely be back.

Once you have had a Russian manicure you'll never go back to a generic nail salon again. 10 out of…read more10 on so many levels from Adinai and Anar Beauty Studio. Seriously though, after I leave Adinai I look down to admire her work and I truly feel like my hand belongs to a Kardashian. I moved to San Rafael from Los Angeles where I was getting Russian Manicures regularly. I found Anar Beauty Studio the month after moving here and have continued seeing Adinai every 5-6 weeks. She has the best selection of colors and is a master when it comes to suggesting the perfect shape that will compliment your hand/fingers. Her studio is clean, comfortable and easily accessible. I received my first pedicure at Anar Beauty Studio last month from Yulduz and not only was it the MOST comfortable pedicure chair I've ever sat in but it was a 10/10 experience. If you're north of the Golden Gate then look no further!

I cannot say enough good things about Anar Beauty Studio and Adinai…read more Adinai specializes in Russian manicures, and I am completely obsessed. I am definitely not someone who naturally has "hand model" hands, but somehow my nails always leave looking like I could be in a jewelry ad. The level of detail and precision is unreal. What I love most about Russian manicures is how long they last and how good they still look weeks later. Because of the meticulous cuticle work, the polish is applied so close to the cuticle that it takes much longer to get that obvious grown-out look you get with regular gel manicures. My friend and I literally compared nails and her 2-week-old manicure looked basically the same as my 4-week-old one. They are also incredibly durable. I have been getting Russian manicures for almost two years now, and with all my normal day-to-day activities like typing, cooking, dishes, laundry, gardening, and working out, I have not had a single chipped, broken, or split nail. Another unexpected benefit is how much healthier my hands look overall. Since I started getting Russian manicures once a month, I have not had the hangnails that used to constantly bother me. And Adinai herself is wonderful. She is sweet, kind, and a total perfectionist in the best possible way. She genuinely cares about how your nails turn out. Honestly, you should have seen the look of concern on her face when I accidentally put my thumb into the UV light at the wrong angle. She was immediately worried it would affect the shape of the builder gel. That level of care says everything. I recommend both this style of manicure and Adinai without reservation. Just know you will definitely need a reservation to see her, and she is absolutely worth planning ahead for.

I booked a facial and massage for my birthday. I had booked them back to back, so I arrived an hour…read moreearly to enjoy the sauna and hot tub before my facial. Unfortunately as I was pulling in the manager called the let me know my masseuse had called in sick and they could only rebook my massage to start 1.5 hours after the original time. I was disappointed, but I made the best of it and thankfully had a flexible schedule that day. I ended up ordering tea and lunch from the Tea Bar. Unfortunately the matcha was out of stock, but I opted for another green tea and the crab cake. It was raining the day I was there so I didn't end up using the pool. I really like my facial with Ruth. She was amazing and had lovely energy. I would definitely rebook. My massage was okay, but despite a few requests for more pressure, I was told that was the max she could do. I have had a lot of massages, but have never encountered that before

I really wanted my first time at Cavallo Point Spa to be an amazing experience, but it was…read moredisappointing. When I booked, I specifically requested a deep tissue massage. However, when I met my therapist, he mentioned he would be doing a signature massage without discussing pressure preferences, even though I had noted on my intake form that I prefer firm pressure. Unfortunately, the massage itself felt neither particularly deep nor relaxing, and it did not meet my expectations. Upon arriving, I was initially confused about the entrance. I entered a building with a gift shop and "tea bar," thought I was in the wrong place, and had to ask for directions. I then learned the spa entrance was behind the wall in the gift shop, which wasn't apparent. I expected the tea bar to be a special space that you might find in a Japanese tea garden, but it was a bar with a mini fridge, something you might find at a gym, and it was in the gift shop! While the waiting area was bright and airy, the changing area--which included the infrared sauna and hot tub--felt more like a college locker room than a spa environment. The treatment floor itself also had a rather sterile, hospital-like feel that didn't create a relaxing atmosphere. It would be helpful if a pre-appointment email listed available amenities and noted that guests should bring a swimsuit to use the hot tub. I checked the website beforehand and did not see this information listed or any photographs. I would have enjoyed using the hot tub had I known, but I was told I could purchase a suit in the shop instead. Lastly, the one-size sandals provided were difficult to walk in and felt unsafe and risky on the stairs after the treatment. I also found it fairly shocking that they suggest 22% as the starting point for a gratuity. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience, ambiance, and level of service provided. I sent the manager feedback and was informed that the changing room space was going to be getting an update, but I feel additional updates are needed, including making reception a dedicated space or moving it inside the door, and moving the tea bar, and making it a unique, special space. Having the reception area and the tea bar crammed together with the gift shop does not work.
