Ok, so here's the deal with Alpha Printing: We were in a desperate search to find a printer that could help us with our business cards. We've tried several different people thus far, and no one had been able to replicate our previous printer's quality (who's now out of business.) No one, that is, except Sheri. She had to recreate our cards, because the original files were missing some of the texts. She also got a near match with the colors on our cards. We have four different locations with slightly different designs for each location and she was able to quickly and efficiently get done what we needed for each design. Alpha is slightly more expensive than other printers; but in my experience we get what we pay for. And Alpha is worth the extra cost. read more

She paused another job to quickly print me two free samples when I dropped off my project at the end of the day. I am very irritated after my trip to Alpha Printing. I went to print my graduation announcements. First off, I made 6 8.5x11 color copies and bought 6 envelopes and it was almost $30. That is just obscene. I usually go to Copymat in Hollywood (who are amazing by the way) and they did my entire portfolio, 15 pages on 11x17 cardstock for 5 dollars more, AND the color quality was much better. However, I was up in this area today, needed to get this done and saw the reviews on Yelp and thought I'd give it a shot; a choice I REGRET. Also, she messed with the color on my cards because she said it was too red. But after they were done printing, I didn't like the way she had adjusted it. It made me look pale and sweaty in the picture on the card. I didn't want to say anything though because she already went ahead and printed all of them without consulting me! Not only was it pricey and I now looked sweaty in the pictures, but they have no tools for cutting. The cutting board she offered to use was weird and didn't work that great, so she gave me a box cutter and a PHONE BOOK to cut on. Really? You are an expensive printing service but you don't even have a rubber mat for cutting on?? At first, I was like, no worries I got this. I just spent two years in school cutting things with a razor blade and ruler (I went to an art school, we had a lot of projects requiring this). But turns out, box cutters and a phone book are a great way to mangle your work. I got through two cards I was cutting out before I said to myself, Fuck this, this is ridiculous I'll just use some damn scissors. And I'm definitely not getting them reprinted for 2.50 a pop, the people I'm giving them to are just going to have to deal with the fact that they're messed up. Copymat provides cutting tools and rubber mats, I guess I made an ass out of myself assuming this was the norm. Will not ever be coming back. On the plus side, they were really nice even though they halfway ruined my cards. read more
