Nearly there!

Aaron, as before in 2019, was very helpful and quickly determined the problem. The cracks in my interior walls and some on the exterior were being caused by a corner of the building that is slowly losing support. With his help I will be able to get our HOA to address the issue before it becomes a real problem. The info he provided for me will be invaluable in getting the ball rolling! Thank you again!!

If you're looking for a company that's honest, professional, and truly cares about your home, go with Alpha Structural. We had foundation issues and started this journey back in November 2024. They sent an engineer, Alfie, out the next day, and he was super thorough and clear about what was going on and what our options were. He explained why helical piers were better for our situation (we have clay soil), and although it was more expensive than concrete pads, it made the most sense long-term. We took almost a year to decide and save up, and even then, Alfie honored the original quote; no hassle, no pressure. That really stuck with us. Once we moved forward, Alpha made everything easy. Their scope of work was laid out clearly, they kept us in the loop at every stage, and the office team (shoutout to Beverly and Kate) was always responsive. The permits and inspections were billed separately, which they explained upfront, and there were no surprises. Everything was transparent. Now let me take a moment to really highlight Francisco and his crew, Juan and Jared. These guys were INCREDIBLE! Seriously, I can't say enough good things. They were on time every single day, super respectful, and just really hardworking. The kind of crew you feel lucky to have working on your home. Francisco, the foreman, ran the project like a total pro. He made sure everything was done right and with care. He didn't just oversee the job, he was in it, hands-on, constantly checking his team's work and making sure everything was on track. You could tell he takes pride in what he does. And not just that, he was considerate. One day when we weren't home, he made sure to close our gate. They didn't leave trash, didn't move anything without asking, and even stacked the pavers they had to remove neatly off to the side. Little things like that go a long way. Juan and Jared were just as great! Super polite, focused, and respectful. They asked before touching anything, cleaned up after themselves, and left the space looking better than before. You'd never guess major work had just been done, that's how clean and careful they were. And in the middle of this California summer heat, too. Total champs. We were told the job might take 5 days, but it was wrapped up in 3, and done well. Brian, the supervisor, was also awesome. He kept us updated, answered all our questions, and even coordinated with our neighbors to get a dumpster placed out front. Everyone we dealt with (from office to field) was kind, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Bottom line: Alpha Structural is the real deal. If you're on the fence, take this as your sign. Their crew treated our home with respect, did the job right, and made the whole process feel way less stressful than we expected. Huge thanks to Francisco, Juan, Jared, Brian, Alfie, Beverly, and Kate. We're beyond grateful and wouldn't hesitate to work with them again in the future. Now we have a solid foundation that we can work it and not have to worry about the structural integrity of our home moving forward. Thanks guys, now my doors/windows won't stick

new posts and piers, extended left girder
Janna B.

We had a great experience with Alpha Structural! After getting 3 quotes for work to replace the western wall of our foundation along with 15 posts and piers on our 1920's home, we felt Apha was the most reasonably priced and seemed well regarded. We were not disappointed. Juvi and his crew Edgar and Jose did great work clearing a ton of leftover debris under the house, replaced the posts and piers and western wall, and extended a girder that previously did not reach the length of the house. We could tell the team knew their stuff. They left the area clean and clear, and were mindful to put a gate back up everyday that they had to take down to work. They even put in a new crawl space access door so future work could be done more easily. Working with Sunn and Aaron was also easy. They kept us informed of the progress and answered our detailed questions along the way. In the end, we needed stucco replaced along the western wall where they did the work, and they called in a handy man they knew to complete the restucco so the final project could be approved by the city. We were happy to have one less person to call! This is the biggest job we will (hopefully) ever have to do on this house, so we're glad we hired Alpha Structural to ensure everything was done right. Thank you!

Everything in the owners response is fiction. No conversation no resolution absolutely non of that ever happened.

Looking to add adjoining wall on the inside of our far end wall of the backyard. The other side is the neighbor's backyard. I called and was told cost $100-$500k. Yard is 50 ft wide. Is this avg? what is the bulk of the cost?

Hi Sol. We had to get a survey done, then soils testing. Lumber and other materials costs are high. The crew had to dig three 14-feet deep piles for the caissons. Every step seemed to require another payment. Our "sister wall" was about 50… Read more

We live in a 70 yr house on a hillside with amazing mountain views; but often besieged by the paranoia of being on a hill. Mark allayed fears both times, answered questions to explain the subtle phenomenon that concerned me every so often, & confirmed everything was normal. Inspections were thorough & no unnecessary work suggested. Often, homeowners aren't knowledgeable about civil and construction work. Speaking to these gentlemen is like speaking to professors who'll tell you clearly if you don't need work; and what you may need 15 years from now. We ended up being advised that nothing was needed to be done. The most remarkable example of integrity.

My first contact was with Matt and from the first meeting, he was informative, professional, on time, and personable. If I had any questions, he was quick to respond. Miguel oversaw the whole driveway project and he was also easy to approach and answered all of my questions thoughtfully. Cesar, who came to work on the driveway everyday, was also a gem. If I could give you more stars, I would. Thank you for a project done to perfection. Foundation Repair LA also did our seismic retrofit. Cesar, Magdaleno, and Cesar were outstanding. They had the project completed on schedule and were also easy to have around. Matt also set up this project for us and it was very easy to complete. It took two days. The cost of both projects was within reason and they gave me a discount because of having both projects done one right after the other. The whole team made for a positive experience. Taylor in the business office was also responsive and friendly. Thanks to everyone at Foundation Repair LA. for making a dreaded project easy to get through. My new driveway looks great, by the way.

Truthfully, no one came close to the knowledge, honesty, and thoroughness of Solomon and the Sunshine team. What stood out most was that they never tried to oversell me. They were straightforward about what needed to be done and what didn't. The dirt removal ended up taking about twice as long as originally estimated (not their fault - there was was just way more dirt than was viable), but they still did not hit me with a change order. Finding a contractor that is honest, communicative, and actually sticks to their word feels almost impossible, but Sunshine did exactly that. I also asked them to move the start date up by two weeks because of our move-in timeline, which was a huge ask. Ram, the owner, personally made sure it happened and clearly moved things around to make it work. Ram and Solomon were available throughout the entire process, from start to finish, and they even had their crew working overtime to help us hit our target completion date. They truly went above and beyond. Sunshine did an amazing job removing a massive amount of dirt and reinforcing our raised foundation. I will be doing seismic retrofitting with them in the near future. I could not recommend this team more.

My husband and I knew we should get earthquake insurance but the cost blew our minds but when we heard that you can get a 25% discount if you complete the retrofit, we explored what it would entail. Well the EBB subsidy which came out to $3,000 was a huge motivator. Selection: To select a company to work with I went overboard reading reviews, not just looking at ratings- Yelp, Google, Angi, Houzz. Plus, I always look at Next Door because our city is finicky so I wanted to see which companies had delivered excellent experiences for homeowners in our city and lastly I look at Reddit. I invited 3 highly rated companies with excellent track records to provide quotes based on the work required. Out if the 3, two came, went into our crawl space and provided a detailed breakdown of the necessary work and cost with photos. The third company provided a quote over Yelp without coming in person to do a visual inspection. So they were eliminated from consideration. The remaining two which included Sunshine were excellent and after putting together a side by side comparison of the work and costs along with their answers to some initial and follow up questions from my husband ( who was a 35 yr construction industry executive), we selected Sunshine and specifically Adam who was the lead that came to our house and who provided detailed and technical responses that instilled so much confidence. EBB approval: Well from there, it was like we had a retrofit concierge with Diana guiding me through every step which is necessary because there are things that need to be done on the EBB website to ensure compliance to receive approval and given Sunshine's vast experience, they have it down to a science which eliminates a ton of confusion I am sure I would have had to face without them. The retrofit work: The team was on time, had detailed instructions, and worked diligently the entire time they were here and they provided photos of their work. And a bonus was I didn't have any clean up to do afterwards. I need to note that out of an abundance of caution Adam ( who is also a licensed electrician) came back out to take care of a wire that looked suspicious but was probably not an issue. If he had not mentioned it, we would not have known City inspection and approval: A breeze! The gentleman that dealt with the city came by after to give us the good news and it was apparent he was trusted by the city inspector. Retrofit completion certificate Diana expeditiously provided the certificate i needed to provide my insurance broker to get quotes after instructing me on how to complete the final EBB steps Success! We now have earthquake insurance and saved 25% off the premium. Side note: get your quote from GeoVera and not the Earthquake Authority. our quote for better coverage by a more highly rated company saved $1,500 in annual premiums So, for a project that seemingly would have been a bear, it was probably the easiest construction like project and process I could have imagined that gives us added confidence in protecting our home. Do it and include Sunshine in your short list. you will be happy you did.

We've interviewed a few home builders, checked out their work and reputation, and eventually decided to go with Gil, Oren, and the whole team of Go Home Builders. Working with the insurance was a pain, luckily Gil had experience working with Allstate insurance before, and he helped us a lot getting the money we needed to rebuild our home. The planning process took a bit longer than what we initially planned for. The county of LA took their sweet time approving our plans. Fortunately, after 2 sets of revisions we were fully approved. The construction wasn't bad at all, they had plenty of guys working on our home at the same time. The only time there was no work, was on inspection days. The finishes was one thing that was extremely important for us. My wife and I are detail oriented and wanted to make sure we're choosing the right company to do the finish work correctly. All I can say is that they exceeded my expectations. Overall the beginning of the process was extremely emotional challenging, but the whole team of Go Home Builders made us feel like we're not alone. My wife and I are very grateful for them. I had a rough vision in mind for fitting a lot into a relatively small space, but wanted to see the options rendered so I could better make the big layout and design decisions. Alexis was very patient and super helpful in mocking up each iteration until we locked in the final design. Once it was time to actually break ground, Gil, Oren, Uriel, and the rest of the team were really responsive and always available by text. Unlike previous contractors we've worked with, they usually gave us an idea of what was happening the next day/week and who to expect onsite. The first ~70% of the project went really smoothly and far exceeded my expectations. Demo, framing, rough plumbing, and electrical all largely went without a hitch. We ran into some problems towards the end around communication, timeline, and subcontractor oversight -- which led to more delays when someone punctured our new in-wall toilet tank and flooded both the bathroom and bedroom. We know every construction job runs into challenges so we weren't bent out of shape by it, and we did appreciate that GHB took full responsibility for fixing the issues. By and large we were really impressed by most of their subcontractors, especially the very professional and considerate plumbing, electrical, and tiling teams! After living with our new bathroom for a while now, we can definitely say it was worth the wait, and such a huge improvement over our previous dysfunctional layout. Thanks to GHB for their great service, amazing attitude, attention to detail, and for bringing the bright, colorful bathroom of my dreams to life!
