Terrible follow through and poor communication. All the work was subpar and we had to move on to another contractor because of one too many major problems and we lost tens of thousands and a years worth of non-compliant work. The next contractor had to redo a lot of the work because it wasn't to code or the materials were not what was specified. In day 1, the first mistake was made when they cut into the existing slab 2' closer to the property line than the plans stated. read more

I was at first very impressed with how responsive Omega was regarding my project. Both Marlon and Matthew were on top of coming out for inspections and making a plan. Matthew called nearly every week. However, once I signed on and paid a $1000 deposit, the project manager, Josh, was introduced. Three months after signing a contract with them, I had to fire them. Josh was very hard to communicate with, and I almost had to pester him just to touch base. On two or three occasions, I would send multiple emails, leave messages and call their office, but Josh would not return my calls or emails. On the two occasions we did speak, he was very busy going to LADBS and setting up meetings. It was never very clear what these meetings were for or what results came from them. Finally, he did have a meeting with us two months in, in which he informed us of several road blocks to the project. In a 1 hour internet search and call to LADBS, I found that most of what he was telling us was false information. The building inspector also volunteered to talk to them. I emailed that same day to inform him of my findings and got no response. A month later, I told them I was terminating our contract. Guess what? I was called 5 minutes later (the first time there had been any alacrity in response) with some song and dance about again going in to the building department and setting up a meeting and making and sending me a plan. No plans sent to me yet. I am officially done with them. read more

I hate writing bad reviews, and rarely do, but I had a completely negative experience with Omega Structural and would not recommend their services. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, trust me. Long story short, I had Omega come out for an inspection on a residential property to evaluate a few typical structural components (i.e foundation, retaining walls, etc.). Raha came out, evaluated the property, and promised to deliver a written report within 24 - 48 hours. Seeing as I was in escrow and things move incredibly fast in the LA market, a prompt delivery of the report was critical for me and my real estate agent to evaluate any contingencies on the property. Most inspectors deliver reports same day - some within hours. This was NOT the case for Omega Structural. Unfortunately, Raha did NOT deliver on time. Moreover, he blatantly ignored my multiple e-mails and phone calls when I asked for his report after his promised deadline. He inspected the property on a Thursday and promised delivery of the structural report by Saturday noon. I did not receive the report until Monday afternoon, and this was after my real estate agent and I hounded the main office. By all measures this is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. We nearly lost our inspection contingency because of Raha and Omega Structural. Raha did not honor his word. Point blank. As further evidence of their word carrying virtually no meaning, Omega initially informed my real estate agent that their inspection fee could be applied towards their future structural work should we proceed to work with them. When I called about the invoice, however, I was told that this was incorrect and that the inspection fee could NOT be applied towards future work. A full 180, a complete flip flop! The only positive thing I have to say is about Yadi from Omega's accounting department. She was incredibly helpful, prompt, and responsive. It is unfortunate that everything else besides her was a complete and utter disappointment. read more

Inspections and bids on work to be done they've made are so outlandish as to be fraudulent. I've had previous bids on the same work from multiple other sources so i can safely say i understand what needs to be done and the ballpark price. In the ballpark of $10k of work that others have quoted these guys came out on a home inspection in the middle of my escrow and created a bid of $86k of work citing absolutely ridiculous tasks to be done! They have essentially lied about the situation and have unjustly scared my buyers and killed the sale of my house. If for some reason the buyers aren't rational enough to look at previous estimates and reports then Omega Structural Inc. has single handedly condemned the sale of my house with this fraudulent attempt at scouring someone's bank account. After receiving this report from my agent i called Omega to discuss, line by line why they were charging 10's of thousands more to do the exact same work. Again I am the owner of this property and if any work gets done Is likely be paying for it! Marlon, the guy who came out and created the report, told me, the owner of the property, that he wouldn't talk to me about anything and had nothing to say to me. Needless to say this was very upsetting. When asked why all the pictures he took and posted in the report give no evidence of the work needing done, again he told me he wouldn't discuss anything and had nothing to say to me!? Me...the owner of the property This guy, as far as I'm concerned is a fraud and so is Omega. They created an absolutely false picture of what needs to be done and killed the sale as the buyers can't tell the difference. So, how do i know the difference? Because I've had many contractors out previously to assess the situation...Cal-Quake, Hilltop Design Group and one other...all very reputable. This company won't last long like this. Save yourself some time please and do not bother giving these guys the time of day. Reading some of the 4-5 star reviews..."I knew from the moment i called it was the best thing that has happened..."??? A staged response to be certain. No one talks like that about a company that acts the way these guys do....the lack of integrity is infuriating. read more

I had them out weeks ago for an estimate, and while they did actually show up to perform the visit, I have never heard from them since. I followed up twice, but still didn't get a response. If they can't bother to respond with an estimate for the work, I don't think I can trust such a major and complicated job to this company. Also I have since had a couple of other companies come to bid on the job, and I noticed they were much more thorough than Omega - taking all kinds of measurements and asking lots of questions, explaining many details of how they would approach the job. The Omega visit wasn't like that - it was in and out, barely any questions, not much information. I didn't get a very "expert" vibe from them, compared to the others I met. read more

Made an appointment two weeks out to inspect our condo building. The morning of, they canceled and rescheduled for the next morning. The next morning they canceled again and rescheduled for later in the week. I called them the day before they were supposed to come to confirm, Janet told me she had to check and would call me back. Really feel ripped off - I ordered an inspection and they did a 20 minute eyeballing of the place then sent me a written report and charged me $360 for it. Report was a list of unlabeled pictures and general notes with no measurements of the cracks listed. Ive since gotten this exact same eyeballing but as a free estimate from a competing company... No communication at all from the company to say that I am running late, apologies, let's re-schedule, none of that. We bought this house with foundation and floor leveling issues. We called three repairing firms. Only Dylan from Omega Structure did a thorough inspection and gave a professional proposal to replace the problem portion of the foundation and level the floor while at the same time quoted a competitive price. Juan and Pascual did a very decent job from beginning to end. All details were done according to the codes. They even poured concrete footings for new post/pier sets. I was especially impressed with the men working in the filed on my properties very professional and caring. When Omega finished both of our jobs the exterior of our home and apartment building looked as they where never touched ! They matched the existing stucco patterns and did a great paint job . We hired Omega Structural Inc. to repair our foundation for our home. The job was to create a sister foundation for a preexisting foundation that was decaying. The work was done to code as it passed inspection. The job took quite a long time (approximately 2 months), although that could have been because the city was moving at a slow pace in the month of April and May, 2020 due to Covid. The other two concerns that I have that are currently being fixed by Omega is a hinge came off of the crawl space screen door (minor problem) and an electrical line for the sprinkler system was accidentally cut/damaged from the foundation repair. It was an inconvenience getting the electrical line fixed, but Omega accepted fault and will be compensating for the repair. read more

I'm giving Marlon and Maggie 5 stars for their service and helpfulness. Maggie is their point person and, you guessed it, she's on point, down-to-earth, friendly, and efficient. Marlon is friendly and very knowledgeable and frank. He gave the most comprehensive assessment of all three contractors that came out AND he came in at the most affordable as well. They had our report back to us at the end of the day. We were in escrow on a property that had serious foundation problems. It's falling out of escrow unfortunately because we couldn't come to an agreement with the seller about who would pay for the foundation replacement. We just couldn't afford to plunk down tens of thousands on a new foundation right off the bat and the selling party refused to acknowledge that there were any problems, saying that they had their own "contractor" inspect it. Never mind that all three of our inspectors independently confirmed to varying degrees that the foundation didn't look good and needed work. Ultimately, it was Marlon's reassurance that helped me understand that the problems with the foundation were serious irrespective of what the seller's contractor was insisting on. We didn't have any actual foundation work done by Omega, but they are absolutely who I would've picked had we gone forward. Marlon's assessment incorporated everything from the other two. He is thorough and they were on time for our appointment. He was reasonable and tried hard to work with us on the price, but even at an affordable rate, foundation work is inherently a costly endeavor and we didn't get anywhere near the support from the seller that we were made to believe was forthcoming. Living in a hillside property, we knew there would be unique foundation needs, but we never expected to have something as unique as a garage floor collapse. We called several "foundation experts" for estimates. Many said they were unable to complete the job and others came in with extremely high bids. Marlon and Omega Structural came highly recommended from a family member who had him and his crew complete some foundation work on their hillside property and after meeting with Marlon, we were confident he could get the job done. He is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to anything structural and his bid was fair and reasonable, considering the amount of work required for the job. As an added plus, he is a genuinely nice guy. Marlon and his crew delivered high quality work and craftsmanship from start to finish and the job was completed before the promised completion date. He wrote up an estimate for $50,000+. I can't say enough good things about the team at Omega Structural. I had them come in to assess my slab, as upon removing my flooring, we found not only a bunch of water but also a crack that ran the length of my house. They were able to come the same week, take a look, and recommended a course of repair at a reasonable price. I originally just had them look at where the floor had been pulled up, but during my discussion with Maggie (who, by the way, answered a million and one questions I had, and when she didn't have the answers always followed up), I realized that if we were going to do the job right I needed to follow the crack to it's end. Marlon and the gang came over on their day off to have a look, were able to revise the estimate, and answer all my additional questions. Within the week we had started the project, and I have never met a more considerate and efficient group of people than Henry and his crew. We lived in the house throughout the whole process, and the guys not only helped me move some incredibly heavy (and delicate!) furniture to keep it safe, but also were able to keep the dust to a minimum. No easy feat when you are jackhammering a ton of concrete. They were incredibly thorough and focused during the entire process and cleaned up every evening before they left. They even put everything back as they had found it (including the furniture) at the end of the job without me asking. The slab now looks great, and between the new sand for drainage, the concrete and rebar, that portion of the house is much better shape than it probably has been since it the slab was originally poured 70 years ago.
