We hired Ron to do the architectural plans for the remodel of a fourplex. He came in with a fancy camera scanner to measure everything, a very efficient process. He was very much on time with the delivery of the initial draft. We discussed minor changes and submitted to the city, and they had just had a few minor corrections before approval, which is better than other architectural teams I have worked with. After we began work on the project, we discovered a beam in the ceiling was not pointing in the right direction, leading to the need for a revision to the plans. The engineer Margarito went on site and approved changes, which allowed us to quickly adapt. Overall this was a very streamlined process, I would be happy to use his services in the future and can very much recommend him.

Erick on the other hand has been on time and responsive on our first step of the process and that is the design and permitting of the work we want to do on our house. He has been on time on everything we have asked of him and high degree of honesty. His honesty has helped us with navigating our discussion with other contractors. We have not settled on a contractor on the actual remodel but the work Erick has done so far on drafting our architectural design renderings and permit process. So long story short Erick and his crew have been top notch, professional, cost effective, honest, punctual, available, approachable in every sense of every word I am using to describe his work. Although the project took a little longer then expected it was not his doing but rather my ability to keep up with the pace of the work. I suggest you order things in advance especially windows and any custom work. In short we remodeled our kitchen, laundry room and master bath. Demolished a hallway and bedroom closet to extend the hall way from front to back, sealed some doorways, widen the doorway to the kitchen and then because the price was right and we had the resources, we decided to paint the whole house. All in all, Erick was a man with solutions, advice and was really looking out for us and making sure the project was done right. I highly recommend Erick from start to finish on any project you are doing. Hey will do your design, get your permits, do the demolishing, remodel and be there for final inspection. And he did this all with the same crew everyday. Which for me means a lot because that means he has people who want to work for him such as Marcos, who was builder on the spot. At first we tried to do it ourselves by finding family recommended architect to draw prints for us for submission and whatever else the city wants. Then we tried to find contracts and they either stuck up their noses at us or didn't even bother showing up at the appointment. Finding a trustworthy contractor is hard. So I looked up Yelp and found Mr. Parrague and initially contacted one of the reviewer, Henry, because he offered to shed more light on his experience. He was so kind and highly recommened Parrague Construction. And I'm living in another country and my Mom's English isn't fluent enough to handle this kind of matter. So I called Mr. Parrague and he made me feel safe. He is a one stop shop because I wasn't sure if the city was going to ask to redo the blueprints or not. He was very professional, on-time, and does not push for extra things just to make more money, in fact it's the opposite. He is tough, which you need to be when dealing with the city, and very experienced. He will go out of his way to help you. His crew is clean and his assistant is also kind and very communicative, but Mr. Parrague usually is your main point of contact. He likes to handle the calls himself. Once my mom called around 5pm saying they installed the garage door wrong (they did not) and I thought she got locked out of the house. I had to call Mr. Parrague from outside the country (Skype) and he said he will go straight to my house after his meeting which was an hour away from my house bc they had my spare key. I told my mom and realized she wasn't locked out. So whether it was installed correctly or not, it was NOT an emergency. I quickly messaged Mr. Parrague because it can be dealt the next day. I didn't want him to get in an accident trekking across LA. He understood and STILL showed up! This is now probably 7pm. They figured out that it was my Mom who didn't understand how the new garage door worked....So I am so thankful for them for their work and for dealing with the City and get me approved and case closed. I got different quotes and Loma Design gave me a reasonable price. Omar Mauricio the Engineer came inspected the building,took measurements, pictures, completed and signed Form 063 and presented to the City. Before choosing Unique Architecture, I contacted no less than 10 architectural firms seeking quotes for our home renovation project. We are doing an extensive interior remodeling of our home. Of the 10 or so companies contacted, only 3 returned our calls. One was way too busy and could not work within our time frame, another gave us a quote that was really overpriced which included a premium charge on a standard government fee. Unique was the first one who answered my call with one call. I actually had a nice chat with Sean Wang, the chief architect the first time I called. He promptly provided us with a quote and was willing to work on our project within a reasonable time frame. Sean took what I had in mind and my elementary school level drawing and turned it into a couple of professional plans we could choose from. From there he followed up with the city promptly and kept us in touch along the way.
