The staff is the only reason why this place is decent. The owner is absolutely disgusting and has no regards for his customers. He rather sit and argue than man up and help fix the situation. Looking through all the other reviews it's completely understandable why they say what they do about him. One of the best lounge experience I've ever had in my life and it's Alpha Astoria . The lounge is huge with welcoming security staffs. Make a sure to carry your ID. Yes, they'll check your ID. Comfortable seating areas with live DJ and disco lights. Song selection was excellent . They have wide range of food and hookah menus. We tried four various hookah and surprisingly all are good. From appetizer to meal all of them are mouthwatering. Don't forget to taste their drinks, specially the mojitos . Only drawback is no parking facilities. They had overprice sections!, Not worth it at all. We paid for a $600 section for a birthday celebration and they forgot the signs we paid for, and they literally only gave us a table and half of a couch for my 15 guest. I bought an extra bottle for $200 and they still did not accommodate my party. When I asked them about something they confiscated off of one of my guest to put it in the car, the bouncers kicked me out for the rest of the night and would not let me back in. White paan and masala chai here is pretty dope and seems to be very popular as well. They are all served with lotus heads which makes the hookah last for a VERY long time. F O O D: Their burgers are HUGE. Very filling. Various flavor options for wings (which btw they even have a 25 piece option!) Drinks are very refreshing. Try the passion fruit mojitos (non alcoholic) Speaking of alcohol, they are waiting for their liquor license! So bar is coming soon too! STAFF: they definitely know their customer service. A table next to me couldn't decide what they wanted. A worker named Ken actually sat down and inquired what they liked and didn't like etc. VERY helpful. Great addition to Steinway! I started coming here after certain lounges like Ignited became mediocre and low quality. The hookah quality is great and will last you well over 1-2 hours. My favorite flavors to smoke are White Paan and Almond Chai. Ask the servers to recommend a flavor based on your taste & they will not disappoint! I had the cheese fries last night & it was great and presented nicely. The lounge is always clean and they definitely accommodate you. Okay so I've been coming here for a while and looks like I will never be returning. The person who took care of me was nice. BUT... The place is dirty. The bathrooms were covered in puke. And I waited 25 minutes for it. With that being said I ordered food during those 25 minutes and I got a Veggie Burger with Onion Rings and Waited 35 minutes for that. And it got me sick couple of hours later. But besides that I went to go use the restroom and the toilet was covered in filth. Had to go to another toilet and it was still filthy... Honestly at that point I just walked out. I do not want anything to do with this place until they get their crap together. The only good Highlight was the hookah. And even then just go to Jasmine Lounge up the hill on Steinway it's cheaper and you won't need to go through what I did. Also they false advertise happy hour. The workers were so respectful and the hospitality of everyone allowed for the experience to be even better. We've gone here 3/4 times so far. It was good the first few times. The staff isn't the most attentive, even when it's dead, but that's no big deal. We went there yesterday and ordered the White Paan hookah. Initially it was very good, then 10 minutes later the hookah started tasting weird. We got the coal changed and it went from being harsh to having zero flavor at all. We smoke hookah all the time. When we told the employee that there was no flavor coming from the hookah, he went to the front, spoke to the owner I assume, and came back and said you ordered this hookah an hour ago so it wouldn't be good anymore. The first few times we went, the hookah lasted a few hours, and we sat for a while so we even got a head change. We smoke enough to know when a flavor will die out, especially with the lotus heads. This was a bit ridiculous. We got the check, left, and went to Jasmin on Steinway. I would understand if we were smoking for 2 hours but for about 45 minutes and to need a head change shouldn't be necessary. It's whatever, but we won't be going again. read more
