I'm visiting from the San Francisco Bay area. The best matcha milk tea I have had in a long time. I live in CA, near Little Vietnam in San Jose. I go over for boba, Viet coffee and teas often. I think Aloha tea beats out my fav tea place at home!!! I didn't get anything to eat, but the smells from the kitchen were delightful. If I have time, I may go back and get some Pho. I wanted some boba, and this place popped up nearby! The inside is really big with lots of seating and games! Every table had a connect 4 game on it, so fun! I also really loved the Hawaiian themed wall paintings. So pretty! The person working was super nice and helpful. I decided to try the Aloha milk tea with black tea base and added boba! It was everything I needed, perfect and refreshing for the hot day! This place also offered some grab and go items and had a large list of other drinks. I would definitely come back here! Rating a 2/5 stars (based on presentation only). This review is only about how the drinks looked. They were not opened or tasted. I ordered 2 Brown Sugar Milk Teas with boba and no ice. The total was $18.18. When I received them, both cups looked underfilled. There was a noticeable gap between the top seal and the drink. Since I asked for no ice, I thought at least the cups would be filled much closer to the top versus how much they actually filled it. At nearly $9 per drink, the amount provided did not feel worth the price, in my personal opinion. Portion size was disappointing. Because of this experience alone, I do not plan to return. read more

This is hands down my #1 all-time favorite boba place. They handmake all their boba -- it's creamy, squishy, and has the perfect texture in your mouth. I honestly can't express how worth it it is to commute an hour just for their boba. I was going to gatekeep this spot... but I love this drink way too much to keep it to myself. I actually got this order recommendation from an employee (shoutout to them), and I've never looked back. Here's my go-to: crème brûlée with a coconut shot, cheese foam, and gold flakes on top. It's insanely creamy, so rich, and super filling. And yes, I absolutely justify the price because it's just that good. They also sell snacks on the side -- and I always grab this one Vietnamese rice paper snack that's spicy and sweet. This place popped up when I was visiting my parents' house. So I stopped by for a milk tea and fruit tea. GPS guided me there! It was tucked into a plaza and open the door. It is filled with some uniqueness and cuteness. They only had one staff taking orders and making all the drinks. There were already two people prior to me waiting. Then a mom and son was waiting in line in front of me. The guy did not make all the order yet, he took our orders and even took the other 2 people after my order. When you walk in you can smell the tea , delicious and the place looks beautiful and so calm. Plenty of room to sit. I ordered the Hawaiian fever tea I think and it was delicious , the tea was freshly brewed which made the tea taste sooo much better. Not overly sweet but enough. (I don't like sweet teas too too much) my partner got the brown sugar milk tea, that one tasted good but it definitely could have been better. Maybe add more brown sugar . This isn't the best milk tea I've tried. This shop is located in a plaza on Glendale Avenue, and they offer a variety of drinks, such as milk tea and coffee. The interior has plenty of space and seating, and the staff is quite nice + helpful! I ordered the aloha milk tea with boba with less sweetness. When I got my order, I was quite disappointed. The boba was soft and chewy, which I liked, but the milk tea was really sweet and tasted rather artificial, like it was made from a pre-made powder -- I'm not talking about powdered milk, but rather the pre-made milk tea mixes where you just add water. I generally expect shops to brew their own drinks, and I usually find that it's a cop-out when they do this. I also did not like the large amount of ice in my drink and the fact that I could not adjust it. I might come back to try the Vietnamese coffee, but I would generally stay away from the milk teas. read more

I drove 20 minutes out of my way for this place. When I arrived I was the only customer. I was ordering multiple drinks. I didn't notice, but while I was ordering the second employee had started making my first drink. I'm used to going over the modifications and checking that everything is right before my drink is made. I had noted for my first drink I wanted to reduce sweetness and add an extra topping. The gentleman at cash told me he can't modify the first drink because it was being already made. I looked over and saw the other employee sealing the drink. I politely asked if they could remake the drink, he refused. I then indicated he left me no choice but to cancel the order. There was no effort by either employee to fix the situation, and so I left. I have zero interest in returning or giving them a second chance. First impressions are lasting impressions. read more

Ambience was a boba place with connect 4 and chess - could be improved. Got the matcha milk tea with uji matcha upgrade, lowest sweetness and less ice, used the Yelp check in for free boba - seems like the computerized ordering system doesn't have a way to indicate "free topping" so it was ordered without boba but the front guy forgot to tell that there's a free add in boba so I initially received it without boba and it had to be remade - tastes like water with a hint of matcha. Usually less/least sweet at least has a strong tea flavor while reducing the sweetness, but seems like reducing the sweetness reduced the matcha and tea flavors Aloha milk tea + they were giving free samples of #1 and #2, appreciate the business mindset - but these were at sweetness and too sweet - we did also lower/lowest sweetness, hard to taste the tea flavor at all (again, less sweet isn't supposed to mean less tea) Someone else got the honeydew smoothie with less sweetness - artificial flavors that tastes like the melona bar - maybe my expectation is too high for natural fruit flavors +/- boba was okay flavors but pretty hard inside Inside decor -investment in a couple newer 2-4 player card or board games (ex: exploding kittens, codenames, etc) could really add to the things to do read more

I haven't tried any milk teas from Aloha yet, so I ordered the Strawberry Milk Tea w/ grass jelly! Comparing this to another boba place, it's not overly sweet, which I appreciate. Although, I wish the drink had a stronger and more natural strawberry flavor to it, rather than it tasting like sugared milk (good amount, compared to another place I mentioned), with a hint of strawberry. Was looking for some boba and ended up at Aloha Tea & Coffee. They have a fun little vending machine that my cousins got addicted to while we waited for our drinks. They have games and the tables + decorations are cool. The service was great, the person at register was patient while we ordered! The boba is sooooo yummy! Came here since bobaholic was a 45 min wait and wanted to order the brown rice roasted oolong cheese foam with no sugar but their drinks are automatically 25% sugar except one section of their menu which was the cheese foam tea above the cheese foam special tea. See pictures attached. Not only did I want no sugar because the cheese foam provides the sugar component, I also wanted it hot. This seems to not be an option here. They do not allow ordering hot drinks with Boba due to straw concerns? I think it's also because they also don't have the lids for it since they use a regular hot drink cup so you can't put a straw in. Get ready for a $1 charge for hot drinks for only the regular size aka small? The cheese foam and drink itself is good. I drank it separately and mixed together. They served my drink separate from the Boba. See pictures attached for their tiny container with Boba. I poured the Boba into my drink. The Boba was soft and chewy as I expect for a Boba joint. Their menu is diverse and the employees followed up to ask if I liked it and to make sure I sip it from the top to enjoy the cheese foam. I did appreciate that a lot in the end. Overall, if you minus the difficulties in the ordering process aka don't make any specific changes, then you got yourself a solid Boba joint. I love all different types of boba teas. At Aloha, I tried the blue mint with cheese foam and boba. It sounded interesting and I had not yet tried anything like it. It sounds like an odd combo, but it was really good! The blue mint tasted like a creamy vanilla mint and the cheese foam added a little bit of tartness to offset the sweet minty flavor. Great tasting milk tea. I came in looking for a Thai Tea but was disappointed to find they did not carry that drink. The man at the counter advised me to try the "Aloha Milk Tea" he even gave me a sample. It tasted better than Thai Tea, sorta. I was happy that I could try something new and like it. It did take a bit of time to get my drink but that is understandable since there were 4 people ahead of me and o my 2 guys working the drinks.
