Located next to Rock Za the strip club. First we called to asked for available appointments and she insisted we come in at 2pm when we asked the latest. Finally she said 6pm but we had to come in at 530pm. We said fine. At exactly 530pm she called us as we got a little lost and we're behind. She showed us the saunas, dry and wet with hot and cold pools. Our massages/scrubs were at 6pm and she said shell call us. We just got situated when our masseuse came in around 550pm. They demanded we go to our massages now which felt rushed but whatever ? The lady told me to just go and I could go to the spa later. Its a room with 4 tables and everyone is naked and exposed just FYI. No privacy. My lady starts scrubbing me throughly but then starts talks to the other lady in korean. She laughs as she says "kokori" in korean as she rubs my belly. Her and the other lady starts laughing. They gossip a bit more until I start death staring at them nakedness on the table. They begin to shush each other by saying "shhhhh". Ummm not very peaceful experience. I did the one hr combo, scrub, soap massage, scalp, facial.. and my lady was definitely not a professional masseuse lol. She was basically running her hands up and down me like a slip and slide. Horrible experience regarding my 6:00 PM appointment this evening. While I was relaxing in the hot tub, a staff member informed me that my appointment would be delayed by at least 20 minutes. She had the opportunity to inform me when I walked into the spa and before I undressed. I told her that I had a dinner reservation at 7:30 and that she confirmed on the phone appointment was at 6pm. She then asked me to step out of the hot tub naked and step into the hallway to discuss my options. She was unapologetic and offered two shitty options: start 20 minutes late or switch to an express service that is half the duration and only $20 less in price. A true gem. This spa is outstanding. If you are looking for a fancy, high-end spa where it is more about ambiance than treatments, this may not be for you. The facilities are very clean, well maintained, and well appointed, but the experience leans more utilitarian than "spa resort." That said, if you are looking for a truly therapeutic healing experience where the focus is on your body's needs, this is absolutely the place to be. If you have never experienced a Korean spa, I recommend doing a little research before you commit. The etiquette and process are very different from a typical Western spa. The staff will walk you through everything and explain what to do, and they are wonderful. Yes, you are nude with other women in the women's spa area. It is respectful, everyone is focused on their own experience, and once you are there it really is not a big deal. I am curvy and still felt comfortable. I went with a close childhood friend and we definitely giggled through the first awkward moments, but it passes quickly. The women staff and therapists are excellent. I highly recommend the treatments. The value is unparalleled. Go into it with patience and an open mind, and expect a few minor stumbles with language and communication. With kindness and a little grace, it is easy and well worth it. I loved the experience so much that I came back to the island specifically to visit again. My boyfriend found this spot and decided to treat me to a full spa day. I chose package number three, which was $140 and included access to the full spa (three types of saunas, a cold pool, and a heated pool), a body scrub, full-body massage, cucumber mask, and hair wash. My boyfriend got a full-body massage and cupping. To start with my experience: the spa area was just okay -- nothing special, but generally as advertised. However, the photos on their website are definitely not their own. The setup is one large room where you receive your massage, body scrub, hair wash, and facial all in the same space. If you're not comfortable being nude in front of other women, this is definitely not the place for you. The Korean lady who worked on me provided the full service I paid for and gave a thorough treatment, which I appreciated. That said, there is absolutely no privacy. After about 30 minutes in the spa, they call you into another open room -- no doors, just 4-5 tables side by side -- and immediately have you lie down nude for the body scrub. Everyone can see everyone. While the scrub was effective and removed a lot of dead skin, the overall atmosphere felt more like a fish processing warehouse than a spa. You're basically "flopped" onto the table and scrubbed vigorously. It was far from relaxing -- no calming music or pleasant scents. Instead, the room smelled strongly of Irish Spring soap and apple cider vinegar, which was very off-putting. They also use basic Costco shampoo and conditioner, nothing spa-quality, and I was concerned about sanitation. There was no indication that the scrub mitts or other materials were replaced or cleaned between clients, which is worrying since everyone is nude and sharing the same space. To be fair, there were a few positives: The scrub was thorough and left my skin smooth. The massage and hair wash were decent. The cucumber mask was fresh, cool, and smelled nice. However, overall it just didn't feel clean, calm, or refreshing -- the things you'd expect from a true spa experience. I grew up going to onsens in Japan, so being nude around other women doesn't bother me, but this felt more chaotic than relaxing, with zero sense of privacy or comfort. As for my boyfriend, his experience was even worse. The masseuse had long nails that scratched him throughout the massage and mostly just hit him randomly instead of applying real massage pressure or technique. The cupping was also rushed -- the cups were only left on for about 30 seconds. To make things worse, after he finished, paid, and even tipped despite the poor service, the owner/receptionist questioned him, asking, "You didn't like massage?" and then said, "Can tip 5 more dollar?" -- which was incredibly unprofessional. In total, we paid around $300 (including tip) for what ended up being a bad massage experience and a chaotic, uncomfortable spa environment -- especially for women. If you're looking for a clean, relaxing, and private spa day, this is not the place. It's chaotic, seemingly unsanitary, and lacks professionalism. We definitely won't be returning or recommending it to anyone. I only give it a 2 star because the Korean lady did do everything as advertised and put in the work for my full treatment time. read more

The service was amazing, the masseuses were great in their service. I would put 5 stars, however the receptionist, which I assumed is the owner, doesn't know was TIP means. There was a tip jar with a bunch of dollar bills, so I just put money in there. She grabbed it from the tip jar and with a disgusted look and tone, she goes "didn't they do a good job?" She told us how much we should be tipping each.. which we gave after. Last time I checked, tip was OPTIONAL, not required and to be telling customers how much they should be tipping is absurd. Korean spa in Honolulu, Hawaii... My half-Korean friend had never been to a Korean bath house, so, I asked her if she wanted to go with me. I had been to two others - one in Kalihi and one in Kaka'ako. I was able to describe what to expect. She said, "Let's go"! Aloha Sauna and Spa is located across from the Convention Center on the corner of Kapiolani Boulevard and Kalauokalani Way. There are several free parking stalls right in front. I had called a few weeks ago to reserve two spots for opening time at 10am. I think it's good to go early when the water is cleaner and the workers are fresh! We removed our footwear, chose the package that we wanted, and received two towels and a locker key. We were shown to the locker room where we removed all clothing and left our belongings in our assigned locker. After a shower in the next area, we soaked in the hot water pool for about half an hour and dipped into the cold water a few times to cool down. We were called by our locker number to a table where we were scrubbed down. It felt like brillo kitchen mitts going back and forth over the skin until the top layer came off - we could see the dead, gray skin on the vinyl covered tables. Warm water was poured over us, then we were massaged with oil (and it felt like a rolling tool); our faces were covered with a fresh cucumber mask; and our heads were massaged with Suave shampoo. My friend got the Deep Tissue Message. She went to a private room where her therapist walked on her back. My friend said that she could have handled more weight. In my case, I'm a wimp and I feel kinda bruised... Haha! It was a cleansing experience. I felt like a rag doll with no bones for a while. I did sit in the salt sauna for a few minutes before I got dressed. We paid at the front (we got a kamaaina discount) and left a tip for the hard work! I wouldn't mind returning! Been coming here with my mom for many years now. We always get the body scrub deluxe package. You arrive to the spa 30 minutes before your appointment to bathe and soak/enjoy the saunas. They provide lockers and towels. You get assigned your own Korean Auntie who is in charge of your treatment. The course begins with a body scrub that visibly takes all the dirt and dead skin off your body. You get a cucumber facial and they wash your hair. Then you get a massage in a private room. I like a lot of pressure when I get a massage, so I communicated that & was very pleased with a great (slightly painful) massage. The Korean aunties don't speak a lot of English but they work really hard. Mom & I love Korean bath houses and have visited one in LA as well as Tokyo. My sister and I went for a birthday treat, my first time at a spa like this! The staff was kind, polite and the treatment was amazing! We did the package #5, and I left feeling rejuvinated and refreshed! My skin is so very soft from the scrub, my face glowing and my muscles relaxed from the massage. The entire spa is very clean! You go 1/2 hour before to sauna and warm up your muscles, then shower, and you can cold plunge or sit in a hot tub. Then they come to get you for the scrub, and your skin will be so very soft after! Facial, cucumber mask, and hair wash follow the scrub. Shower and dry off and head to massage room for an awesome full body massage, and then after that you shower again. I just finished 100 mins massage and I've been coming here regularly but today wasn't a good day for me. I've referred many of my friends but not sure if I could come back. I like my therapist but she went extremely hard on me today. I did told her it's painful for me too and he did worn me she sees the red spot near my neck when it's about to finish. Wonderful experience the other day. Quaint, unassuming spa close to Ala Moana center and Convention Center. A few convenient parking stalls out front. Greeted at the front desk where they ask you to remove your shoes prior to entering. She showed me the locker room and the rest of the facilities. Definitely not shiny and new. Could use some freshening up in aesthetics but we don't have many options when it comes to Korean scrub spas in the area, unfortunately. There is an ample sized hot tub, cold plunge, jade steam room, salt steam room and traditional sauna, private massage rooms and the best reason to come, the scrub room. Several tables in a row for them to exfoliate away! I came early to take advantage of all the amenities and sufficiently soften my skin for my scrub. Hot tub, cold plunge, all the steam/sauna rooms and repeat. Then the scrub and shampoo.... I know the site of your dead skin seems pretty off putting but it's like a horror movie or train wreck... you can't NOT look Extremely excessive and definitely not an everyday event but I needed this. So I also had a full body massage and Korean facial. Literally spent half the day here but let me tell you, I walked out a different person. Best place for some girl time with friends you don't mind being naked with. Weird and shocking at first, but you get used to it. Come at least 30 minutes prior to your scrub, to make sure your skin is softened up enough because you will be losing your entire epidermis soon. You are given 2 towels and locker key - make sure you shower yourself well or you will get scoldings! They will tell you to do it again if they don't think you are clean enough. Not a fancy place but it gets the job done! After the shower you soak in a hot water pool to prepare for the scrub. There is a cold plunge as well to cool off. You can also choose to visit the steam room and sauna. The scrub is just short of violent, but in a good way. Don't talk, you don't want to get dead skin flying into your mouth (happened to a friend). It is insane how much skin they remove from you. Very relaxing experience, and you leave with the most baby soft skin. Even if you don't get the massage, all the heat will make your body feel wonderful.
