Limited parking in the parking lot, but there's also some street parking. Friendly staff. My order was made quickly, little wait time. This is an order and go kind of place. No seating. Got the Shaloha plate this time, which is my favorite on the menu. It comes with everything. It literally weighs like 2 pounds. This plate can be shared by 2 ppl. If I eat it by myself I can make 3-4 meals out of it. The veggies are fresh every time. The plate is packed with flavor.

The…read moregenerous amount of portions that they give you in their plates are something to behold as I've been wanting to visit Shaloha Pita for quite some time and with all the wonderful reviews today was the perfect time to give them a visit. Arriving for a late lunch/early dinner was nice as the area wasn't as crowded and parking at the small shared lot was a breeze, it seems like they close their restaurant to the public and you order at the counter from outside but after placing my order at the counter and was told it would take about 10 minutes. I decided on the Eggplant Plate since I do love eggplants and when I picked it up was surprised with how heavy it was and wondered how can that be. First of all it's like a mini buffet going on in there with white and red cabbage, Israeli Salad, hummus, turmeric rice and if that's not enough two huge pitas as well. The eggplant was excellent and with about eight slices was nice though still felt it was a bit pricey and wished that they had a mini plate as this amount of food is quite wasteful as I don't see myself finishing it all. The Israeli salad I just didn't like way too much parsley for me and hummus...was okay I love hummus but this didn't do much for me personally, the rice was like one huge mochi all completely mushy the cabbage both white and red I did like and finished it all as for the pita I didn't touch it at all and will take it home for a sandwich I guess but as nice as the value for the meal it's unnecessarily too much. Thanks!

We put the vegetables, chicken, and sour cream on the pita and enjoyed it. The flavor was excellent. We even used the leftover chicken to make a chicken salad at home, and that was great too. I'd love to try their other menu items as well. Thank you very much for the delicious dinner!

Food: really good! A friend and I ordered the falafel wrap,…read morewhich I chose to add sumac onions to, and the shawarma brisket wrap. The shawarma brisket wrap was really good - tender meat with lots of rich flavor. It tasted different from other shawarma I've had before - almost like it had a sort of barbecue flavor? It was really good! The markook lavash is perfectly crispy on the outside and all the sauces and toppings go really well together. The falafel wrap was good in terms of taste, but I wish that the falafel had more of a crunchy crust, and was more fluffy on the inside. It was just a bit dense and dry but tasted good anyway! I also wish the sumac onions had more sumac. As a disclaimer, we didn't realize that we were supposed to call when we were outside the building ready to pick up our food (oops... they even say to do so on the order page! but I just glossed over that by accident). So we got our food a bit later, and maybe the falafel would've been crispier and less dense if we had eaten it right away. I'm guessing the sauces soaked into it and that contributed to it being a bit dense. I'll need to come back to try it again! What to know: Middle Eats is a satellite kitchen, meaning that you don't go to a physical shop to pick up your order. The kitchen is in a building that you can't actually enter - so you place your order online or by phone, and then go to the pick up location (55 Merchant St) to get your order. However, you need to call them to let them know you're there, and only then will they come down with your food. This makes complete sense to me and I even see the instruction on the order website now, but I guess I just missed that detail - so that's on me! There is some space to pull over in front of the building when you pick up your order, and once they know you're there, they come downstairs in just a few minutes. If you can't find nearby street parking, the nearest municipal lot is the Chinatown gateway one. I will definitely come back to try more of their food!

And they offer lots of different options. I love that they always have vegetarian and pescatarian dishes. Our go-to are the veggie curry and coconut fish plates. You order at the counter and get to pick an entree and a starch. The saffron rice is spot on! And the plate comes with a generous side of greens with your choice of their house-made dressings. You can also upgrade with salads from their cold bar. Speaking of cold bar, I usually grab a couple containers of salads for home lunches later in the week. I don't have to cook, and I like looking forward to what's in lunch bag. Plus it's all healthy eats so bonus that it's good for my body. Seriously you can't go wrong! Grab a couple sides while you're there. Prices are very reasonable and servings are generous. You always feel like you get your money's worth. And if you want something lighter, they make fresh and delicious smoothies. You can also eat there. They have a spacious area with abundant seating, so it's a great place for groups too. They do fabulous catering! We've enjoyed their food at several parties. Their catering menus are very extensive, so you can definitely find something for everyone in your Ohana. Vegan and gluten free options are available. They have set menus but can customize for your tastes and budget. Da Spot is a great neighborhood joint. Family-run and operated, so you're supporting small business. I'd highly recommend them for both take-out and catering. Try them out. You won't be disappointed!

Today, I requested the Lamb Kabab Wrap; this wrap comes with pita, lamb kabab, hummus ( spelled humus on the menu board ...humushumusnukunukuapuaha ), tahini, tomatoes, and pickles - yes, pickles. Middle Eastern / Mediterranean food has a commonality but the pickles did throw me off a bit, but still excellent food fare. Previously, I've had their Falafel Wrap Combo. Fries were excellent with a garlic sauce provided and the wrap was excellent. If I recall correctly, the co-owner mentioned that Lebanese pita is thinner than Israeli pita...which I am more familiar with...regardless, it's all good. Fast service...for a walk-up order...less than 10 minutes but there wasn't a line. Parking in Waikiki; good luck, but I did find metered parking not far away. So tasty... a hint of cinnamon which I love. I love that they serve it with a small yet ample serving of honey. There's no alcohol served here but BYOB is accepted. Price is great for the quality of food prepared and served here. Best thing is don't just believe me... I'm someone you don't know, but try out yourself. By the way Yamas isn't a Japanese word or a shot cut to the owners Japanese name. It's a Greek like saying "cheers," or " to our health!" So my reviews aren't only my opinion on cuisine but it's also educational.
