I came in for a shawarma wrap, and the owner, Odai, convinced me to try his falafel even though I told him I don't like falafel. He was so confident that his would be in my top 5--and honestly, he was right! It was the best falafel I've ever had! The signature drinks are also My favorite is the honey melon one. It was a refreshing change from all the usual food fare around Waikiki. I was in the mood to try something different, and this food truck definitely hit the spot. It's one of the many food truck spots in Waikiki, located right across the street from the 'Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach (on Lili'uokalani Avenue). I ordered the Chicken Shawerma and a Steak Shawerma Combo, with no tomatoes. There was a small mix-up with my steak order, but they were great about it and took the time to remake it for me and get it right. The owner, Odi, was especially friendly and even gave me some complimentary falafel samples. The falafel was tasty, and their spicy sauce had a nice kick while still being really flavorful. Odi also let me sample their different Island Refreshers, which were all pretty nice and refreshing. I ultimately settled on the Lime/Cucumber. It was tangy, slightly sweet, and really refreshing--perfect for the Waikiki weather. The outdoor setting also added to the experience. It has a nice, casual Waikiki food-truck atmosphere where you can enjoy your food outside. Overall, this was a nice change of pace from the typical Waikiki food options. Came back to visit and was given an amazing dinner! Lamb with PERFECTLY seasoned and cooked fish on top of rice. The light Cilantro scattered on the dish really pulled in the sweet onions and the tart peppers. His Sauce on the side was just enough kick to set the dish off to a WHOLE different level! Rad and Ode are amazing people! I saw their little shack while doing my daily walk and I noticed they offered fresh falafel and home made sauces. They've only been open for 7 weeks and they definitely enjoy making food and just sharing their passion. Rad gave me a sample of the falafel and it was perfect, nice crispy outside and fluffy,flavorful, warm inside. Honestly people complain about price all the time, those people don't know what it means to own their own business or even make things from scratch. I was looking for a place to eat later in the night and Da Crispy Chickpea was open. That's already a plus for me. I ordered the chicken shawarma. I believe the owner was the one helping me and he pleasant to speak to. While we were waiting he gave my wife and I a free watermelon drink while we were waiting. That drink was very refreshing and you could tell it was made with fresh watermelon. A few moments later he gave us a couple of falafels to try. It was hot and fresh not ones that have been sitting and he had to get rid of. My food was really and the price for my food was good as well. Lots of flavor it hit the spot for my late night meal.
