Crab Fried Rice - Um no lol!
Shunta T.

Nice job Aloha Krab! I ordered the Green Mussels and Dungeness Crab Bag with the Aloha Special sauce...and it was DELICIOUS!! The sauce is so flavorful and it was just the right amount of spicy for me. I will definitely be back for more! My coworker ordered the Fried Calamari and the Crab Fried Rice. The Calamari was also delicious...but you guys are dead wrong for placing the imitation crab meat on top of the fried rice lol. I will still give it 5 stars for all the other deliciousness that we tried though. Use real crab meat in the fried rice next time, it would be so much better!!

We were in Frederick this afternoon and stopped by Aloha Krab to grab a late lunch. I ordered the crab poboy and hubby had the popcorn shrimps. The food was decent.

This was supposed to be a shrimp po boy.

I ordered two po boys. This nonsense is what i got. Would give zero stars if I could.

This has been one of the better seafood restaurants I've been to, that's right in the Frederick area anyways, they just opened too. The waiter was super friendly, I arrived earlier than expected and they prepared my meal within 15mins. I got the Aloha combo with Dungeness crab, clams and shrimp, Cajun spice with garlic butter sauce. My husband got king crab with lemongrass sauce. We ultimately enjoyed our meal. The amount was so abundance I had to save my leftovers for the next day. Their prices are also reasonable. The sauce is very rich and we both got spice level medium, which we perfect. Amazing!

Slimy lettuce and the weird hard lettuce stalk in the middle of the sandwich.

A bit noisy for me to hear a conversation easily. The food was excellent. I tried the seafood jambalaya with had fish, scallops shrimp and spicy sausage with Cajun seasoning over brown rice. The fish was flaky and scallops and shrimp were sweet and perfectly cooked. I appreciated that the server made sure I understood that it was going to be spicy which it was but not unbearably so (I like mildly spicy to medium spicy). I loved the spinach crab dip appetizer. It was creamy and hot and delicious. The hushpuppies, of you are a hushpuppy fan were a must order. The arrived hot and very crisp coating with a moist interior. They come with a honey butter which really put them over the top. My spice got the grilled shrimp with shoestring potatoes. The shrimp were grilled perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. Reservations are recommended for peak service times. There plenty of parking in the back if the lot in front is full.

She's been behind the bar for three weeks and is obviously an asset not just for her hustle but for maintaining a positive attitude during a rush that the restaurant is still training to cope with. Kudos girl The fried fish was terrific although the fries needed more time in the fryer. The sweet potato fries were excellent. The Cole slaw was delicious I even liked the tartar sauce. I had a seltzer from RAK honey lavender quite tasty. The new management is trying to offer the local products and it's the right direction. I believe this place has lots of potential and I look forward to my next visit when I hope to give more stars.

One of the friendliest places I have been to. Nothing fancy but THE FOOD!!! Omg. Had a…read moresoft-shell crab sandwich with the biggest soft-shell! It was delish. And they offered to sauté it instead of deep fry. Definitely gets points for that. The place is small so if you want to eat in, go early before the crowd. They also do a lot of takeout business. We went there because it was close to 70 and had great rating. Not disappointed. Easy on, easy off highway. We would have gone again on our way back from our trip, but they are closed on Mondays. There is a parking lot in the back.

The shop is in a charming small historic building. We found parking behind the building. There was a steady stream of people going into the market. They sell fresh seafood to go and a selection of dine-in options. Many of the seafood prices are listed as Market Price. The crab sandwich was $23 with tax and there is an up-charge for use of credit card. The crabcake is thick with lump crabmeat. My sandwich was perfectly seasoned and prepared in authentic Maryland style. The bun with lettuce and tomato fresh were and tasty, too. The sandwich was perfection. The service was efficient. The clerk didn't waste time with pleasantries. The food takes awhile to prepare. I waited about 15 minutes after I ordered as they fresh bake the crab cakes. A tip jar sits by the cash register. The place is cute inside decorated in a harbor/seafood theme. There are 5 tables inside and 2 counters that seat 4 people each. It's the kind of place that you'd meet a friend for lunch and a beer and hang out. There are a couple of Adirondack chairs out front. A tv monitor was playing basketball reruns. The crab cakes can be purchased unbaked to go (along with a host of other seafood). There is a small full bar and coke products. They also serve ice cream, which is what many of the families were stopping for on this hot summer day. I will make JB's a regular stop on my way through Maryland. Well worth a visit.

The building is large with plenty of parking. It has a medieval-vibe from the outside, although there's a plaque inside the front door saying the building was built in 2000. Once inside, it's fairly dark and continues with the old-mansion type atmosphere. There are lots of items hanging from the walls, older portrait photos, chandeliers, etc. very cool space. We were told at the front desk to go upstairs for the brunch (there is an elevator!). Once upstairs, we were greeted and sat in a corner table for two. The placement of the table was perfect, as there were a lot of families there for brunch, and I felt like we were being given an opportunity for more quiet. I noticed that the layout of the room placed tables for two and other smaller tables toward the outside. The server greeted us warmly and explained where things were and invited us to get started. The food: outstanding. The crab dip was thick from cheese and full of crab. The Maryland crab soup (didn't try the cream one) was full of crab and veggies, and the broth was flavorful. The salad was fresh, the chicken and salmon were both well prepared and delicious and the crab omelette was full from crab. There's also the traditional breads, eggs, potatoes, bacon and sausage. They all looked good, but I didn't take them seriously with all the other foods there. I went to get prime rib snd was given a huge piece freshly sliced. Outstanding. The outside was seasoned perfectly and the inside was moist and flavorful. You can get creamy horseradish, horseradish alone and au jus, which you serve yourself. The desserts included some pies (including key lime), cooked apples, brownies and there's fresh fruit at the salad bar. Service: Outstanding. Our server kept our water glasses, iced tea snd coffee filled and took our plates promptly. Bloody Mary - was $1 and I think it's a darn good Bloody Mary. Not fancy, but tasty. We came here looking for a new place to go for buffet brunch. We live over a half hour away, but do plan to come back for other occasions. It's a nice atmosphere with a very classy vibe, but good for families. Everybody seemed to be having a good time and enjoying themselves. And the service was excellent. The brunch ain't cheap (it's $46.95 per person), but there's outstanding prime rib, a real crab dip and two types of legit crab soups, along with other entrees (the salmon was so soft and flavorful - I was jealous because I can never get mine with such great texture), as well as traditional breakfast fare and a salad bar. Worth a visit. The restaurant's regular menu looks pricy, and some of the items on the regular menu are available on the buffet (prime rib, crab dip, crab soups, the chicken and the salmon).
