By Thursday morning, my new Mitsubishi was up and running! It was supposedly going to be done in December or January but apparently, they had a last minute cancellation (after going to the site) so I guess since they had a whole crew with no job, I was moved up!! Alex and crew came by within an hour of a call from owner Neil. They took down and took away the old unit, and quickly installed the new one using the existing hole and drain. It is offset from center because the new unit is narrower, but it was either that or drill a new hole in the wall. Afterwards, they cleaned up nicely and helped put my furniture back! Very happy with the result! I know the warranty is for 12 years, but my Sanyo lasted 30, so I'm hoping for the same luck with better maintenance on my part. As for Neil and some of the negative comments here, I think people misinterpret his straight-forward talk as rude. I personally like it if someone just tells me straight and not beat around the bush! To me, he was very friendly and helpful. Not sure if he remembers, but the AC Shoppe installed my old Sanyo 30 years ago because they happened to be next door to where my wife worked. Just as I mentioned five years ago, they were so professional, friendly, helpful and very informative when asking any question. Not only was he nice, but his crew did a great job and you can tell how hard they worked because the amount of worked they put in plus the quality of the installation materials were top notch. I knew that two window ACs wouldn't be sufficient and was very concerned about the cost of a split AC for a rental property. After reading the Yelp reviews, I called Glen Kazama, owner of Kazama Commercial Refrigeration. He took the time to patiently listen to me. From the start, I felt that I could trust him to select and install the right AC for the house. I also contacted two other AC companies to visit the house and submit a proposal. They all quoted on a 24,000 BTU Mitsubishi spit AC. I selected Kazama Commercial Refrigeration because of the great price and the great owner. Another company tried to sell me a larger Mitsubishi split AC unit but, Glen explained that the 24,000 BTU Mitsubishi has a better motor than the larger 30,000 BTU. He was confident that the smaller unit would be sufficient. (And it's perfect!) Glen learned that the distributor was running low on the 24,000 BTU ACs so he purchased it immediately. Kazama Commercial Refrigeration was backed up with other commercial jobs, however, knowing that the tenant was sweltering in the summer heat, Glen was accommodating. A few days later, I was surprised to learn that the AC was installed. The tenant was very appreciative and expressed how great the company was to work with. Glen showed the tenants how to maintain the filter monthly. After you purchase a split AC, the service is just as important as the initial installation. I wanted to work with a company that would install and provide reliable service in the future. I am pleased that I selected Kazama Commercial Refrigeration with an owner that treats people with courtesy, kindness, and respect. I would rate Kazama Commercial more than 5-stars.

So month or so ago my HVAC (central air) quit working. Contacted the building for "who do you all use for this" and they pointed me to Dynamic Air; was iffy as usually I figure building guys get kickbacks but Purair, whom I used a couple years ago for some maintenance, didn't appear to do repairs so figured what the hell, let's try them. Tech showed up on time the next day, quicky diagnosed problem, and immediately repaired it. On top of that as part of the repair they also conducted maintenance on the unit. Total price was LESS THAN what Purair charged me a coupled years ago and they (Purair) did less stuff (i.e. no repair) including half assed the maintenance in retrospect after seeing what this guys did. If I ever need HVAC work def going to call these guys as they did a damn good job in a timely manner at a reasonable price and delivering exactly what was expected and discussed.

Mixed bag. Excellent actual servicing (5/5), terrible experience trying to schedule appointments…read more(2/5). Our Fujitsu Split Air units are old, and purchased from Aire Conditioner Shoppe so we continue to go to them for repairs even though the warranty expired several years ago because we liked the service technicians in the past. It's always a challenging event to schedule an appointment because the owner (Neal?) takes all the calls himself and he's frequently (always?) rushed and busy. He can be very brusque and a bit rude... Same thing this time. He actually asked if he could call me back since he had calls already on all his phone lines. I said ok. TIP - have your model numbers ready before you call, he won't look them up in his records. You may need the inside unit model numbers and serial numbers and/or the outside unit's depending on the problem. I, knowing nothing never seem to get it right ahead of time but after this last service call, I'll be ready for next time! He confirmed that he still had parts for our units even though they are old so he agreed to service them but he had a wait list two to six weeks out! Fortunately we were going to be traveling and could manage without the A/Cs for a few days so I said ok since I'm of the mindset that bringing in another company that I know nothing about may cost me more and I don't know if another company that I can trust. (But what do I know?) Also, this was the first time he was back logged so much. In the past we'd be serviced within a few days to a week from when I called. (But I think this is more the trend now with many companies I'd all kinds.) He called back a day after we returned from our trip saying he could send someone the next day and of course we said ok. We had a new technician who was just as nice as the old crew was. He was able to fix the units quickly since it was a simple problem ; thermostats). We asked if he had any idea how long our old units would last and of course he couldn't give an estimate (understandable). He said they could have problems again soon or even keep going a few years. We asked if we would get a discount if we replaced our units and were told that yes, Neal would give a discount to repeat customers. Two weeks ago (the six week mark from our initial call) I had a VM from Neal, he didn't seem to realize he'd already gotten our units fixed and was asking (hesitantly) if we still needed our units serviced. Or maybe he wasn't sure if the job was done so was following up to be sure? I did appreciate the follow up even though it wasn't needed.

Day of intall he showed up with a crew and electricians. It took about a day, it was a big job, difficulties of installing due to attic location and where I wanted the outdoor unit. At the end of day our tenants were enjoying a 36K outdoor and 3 indoor units to supply cooling to their living room and 2 bedrooms upstairs. Fast forward to May 2026, I had another project for him. Again, we did the initial walk through, where I wanted everything to go and how he would hide all the lines in the attic and only the one line from the 42K outdoor unit going up the wall. Again he came with a crew of 4, including himself and an electrician and within half a day, we had a 42k outdoor and 5 indoor units cooling 1 living room, 1 den, and 3 bedrooms. He mounted all the remotes to the walls and cleaned up all areas they worked in. Each time I need an install for anything I always call John.
