Look my car into All Star Transmission a couple of months ago to have it looked at. I advised that I hope there is was not a serious problem because I was getting married later in the year. After a couple hours they said my transmission was shot and it would cost $2000 to get it fixed. I wanted a second opinion and took it to the dealership to check it out. They said the transmission looked great and all that I needed was a sensor replaced which was only $300 to have fixed. The sad part is another store that I trust recommended these douche bags. I can see why they have a pour overall rating. Don't trust this company. I will always look at Yelp before I make any decision whether it be food or a service. read more

Great service. I came in thinking my transmission was going to need a rebuild. I had a horrible grinding when in reverse. Joe was great about explaining my options. After evaluation and diagnostics, they determined it was a brake caliper mount missing a bolt and was causing the issue. They did a transmission service and made sure everything was great. I was so impressed with Allstar!! Joe was super nice and they finished way earlier then expected, which saved me 100+ dollars sense I didn't need the rental car as long!! Took it in on Tuesday afternoon and got a call on wed night telling me it was done!! I was quoted 1490 but ended up paying 1320 because my car didn't need certain parts they thought it might need!! I was so stressed out. I had been to two places for my car. No one seemed like they could deal with the transmission issue. The engine light came on and it was running rough. The second place put me on the phone to these guys. I talked to him and he was so nice. I told him the codes from the light and he estimated what it was but asked me to bring it in the next day. I did first thing in the morning. He called right away and was refreshingly honest...giving me a range of what it would cost $2500 - $3900. I decided to not fix it and buy a new car, it wasn't worth the time and cost to fix. He was so nice. Highly recommend and will for sure be back. This place is the real deal. read more

I used these people for my Acura TL. The transmission went out (the first time) after about 15k miles. They had rebuild the tranny 4 times total. Unfortunately, after the original rebuild, being in the automotive field, I recommended them to a used VW dealership. About a month later, the lot calls me up and tells me to stop recommending them as they sent 6 cars to them for rebuilds and they had to send 5 back almost immediately. Of course later, my transmission continues to go out over and over. I have heard through the grapevine, that the shop is currently for sale for peanuts, so hopefully someone with scruples will purchase it and change it for the better. read more

My car ways damaged while they were working on it. After 3 attempts to get someone to talk to me about this I have contacted the BBB. They seem nice but they are careless, and dont take responsibility for their accidents. The car has run ok so far but the bill to repair the ding they put in it will cost me so much I could have gone to the dealer for better faster service and paid less. BBB will keep my complaint on file they even spoke to the witnesses and said my only option is lawsuit since All star refuses to try to discuss the issue. In reply to owners comments: I contacted them imediately they failed to reply, I had the witness who drove me there who saw the damage and asked about it when we stopped a mile away or so for dinner. I went back but they were closed. I called and was told they would get back to me, they didnt. I left the country for 2 weeks after that. Sorry didnt cancel my trip to europe to fight with a less than honest or responsible chop shop owner who told me his staff never makes mistakes, ever and I was a liar! And I admit I am sure the mistake was mostlikely not intentional and may have been over looked by the very busy owner who was unable to reply at all before I contacted the BBB and filed a complaint. Also Note The BBB cant do anything beyond keeping a record of unsatisfied complaints against the company and because their rating is already well below normal and the owner doesnt care about their bbb rating it makes no difference. Though with perfect staff who 'never make mistakes' I wonder why All star's rating was not perfect with the bbb before I came along? They told me there had been other complaints all unresolved. Well teach me in the future use the BBB to check on businesses before trusting them with your stuff. read more

I've had to come back 4 times for service. Tow truck back to the shop not covered under warranty. My $1400 transmission now cost alot more.

Please I am here to inform everybody about the grifters and Carnival actors at the shop. We brought our vehicle here one year ago and they told us they rebuilt it after numerous times of trying to get it to shift we finally brought it to AAMCO Transmission there we were informed that this transmission has never been rebuilt. And that our particular transmission has a limp mode that is caused by shorts leaving it in second gear. With all this being said there is plenty of information to prove that this thing has never been rebuilt I have no recourse but to offer up safety for the rest of the public. Allstar Transmissions (AST), exemplifies honesty, integrity, great customer service, and a terrific price to boot! I am a single, educated women, who, unfortunately, knows very little about cars. In need of a transmission specialist, my only recourse was the yellow pages. Feeling downright terrified and stressed-out, due to lack of auto knowledge, I set out on a "blind" expedition. After calling around and asking for price estimates, I happened upon the AST yellow page ad. I spoke with both AST "Keith" and "Dan." Their patience, friendliness, and willingness to listen, immediately put me at ease. I was quoted an AST phone estimate and, relative to other establishment estimates, I could hardly believe my ears. Their pricing was terrific. In addition to my transmission issues, I believed I had at least two other problems which my beloved Toyota needed help. Fortunately for me, AST covers other auto problems. As such, "one stop shopping," suited my busy schedule perfectly, and AST accommodated me to a T. On top of all this, once my car had been serviced, my actual payment was HALF the amount initially quoted over the phone. Moreover, AST, without any additional cost, also checked out just about everything else, letting me know that my Toyota would keep on truckin'. Four days have passed, and my car is running perfectly. Their help is a complete relief. The only downside is that I live 10 miles away. Even so, AST is extremely easy to access and locate. My diesel's transmission blew up about 5 months after the dealer rebuilt it. Took them to court and got my money back. Brought my truck to All star and it cost me half of what I spent and its been great so far. I use it to tow our triple axle tow hauler and it runs better then it ever has. Paid over 2000 dollars for a 'rebuild?' Was back 4 times for similar issues: slipping, not shifting out of gears, etc. Each time they confirmed the problem and did something to remedy it but to no avail. The last time was 1 month after the 2 year warranty and was told it would cost over 800 dollars to fix the problem. 1) used metric bolts rather than standard in attaching my 1980 turbo 350 transmission's bell housing to its 350 engine block 2) In rebuilding my differential they used too-short screws on my rear-axle yokes causing one of those yokes to break apart while driving 3) put too little transmission fluid in after a rebuild of my turbo 350, was unable to shift gears as a result 4) put the transmission cooling line nuts on backwards and disconnected, and blamed me for it! 5) placed my car outside their shop when I could not get there to pick it up before they closed, with all starter wires disconnected 6) in re-attaching my transmission shifter linkage instead of a clevis pin and cotter pin they used a screw and e-clip. Eventually this e-clip came off while gassing up at a truck stop over 200 miles from home. Had to get under the car and zip-tie the linkage so I could continue on my trip 7) in a better business bureau complaint regarding the above t made, their response was this was all my fault because I race this vehicle (not true, in 15 years of ownership I have exceeded the speed limit perhaps twice) read more

I am a car nut, total gear head who knows what good customer service should be. I had a really bad day when my car stopped moving completely and was feeling even worse about how much the dealership would charge to fix my car up. I called around a bit and happened to come across All Star transmission - best call I made that day. My poor car had to be towed for the first time in her life down to Seatac. The guys looked and it for free and confirmed my diagnosis of having transmission problems. They couldn't say exactly what was wrong with it until the took it out of the car and took it aparts, makes perfect sense to me. They weren't hesitant to work on a newer European car and had a flat rate labor charge of under $400! I'd be moderately happy if repair bill labor charges were always under $400... I got the call that they found what was broken and said it could be fixed by the next day. I needed it rebuilt, the total cost wasn't even half of what the stealership was buttering me up for. When I picked it up 72 hours after dropping it off I was able to check out my broken parts and kind of realized how a transmission works. My car was as clean as I left her with no grease smudges or new scratches. I can feel the difference and couldn't be more happy with myself for deciding to try a new shop out. The dudes working there seem like car guys too and knew the answer to every questions I asked. It takes a lot for me to be happy after forking over my hard earned cashola for an unexpected car repair but they treated me and my car just right. read more
